Great lesson! Often 2” is recommended as standard Ease for Bust- however, 2” may be great on a lean figure, But, on a large or extra large figure, often 4” Ease in the Bust is most flattering. The type of figure plays such a big part in deciding on Ease allowance.

Exactly! We don't know how much ease will work for any fabric. BTW, I hated the fit of the Shirt the Store Clerk was wearing, while showing a white Jacket to a lady. He lifted his arm and the Shirt showed deep vertical lines across his whole body starting at the underarm, and going right up to the collar. Starting with the wrong shoulder slope will do that every time. Please teach how to achieve the right shoulder slope!

People have all different shoulder slop as well. Depending on how it fits, you can fix the high shoulder point and revise shoulder point and underarm point. Or fix the underarm point and revise high shoulder point and shoulder point.

Thank u Thank u thank u this was explained perfectly. I was struggling with ease and how much was needed. This gives me a new perspective when drafting a garment , think about the fit and fabric… very useful information.

12 inch ≈ 30 cm 6 inch ≈ 15 cm 4 inch ≈ 10 cm 3 inch ≈ 75 mm 2 inch ≈ 50 mm 1 inch ≈ 25 mm 1/2 inch ≈ 12 mm 1/4 inch ≈ 6 mm 1/8 inch ≈ 3 mm 대학 동아리 활동으로 인치로 자동차 완충장치 디자인 하다가, 막무간에 개인 티셔츠 만드려고 마음에 드는 옷들 그리고 개인 몸 치수 인치로 한번 측정해 본 이후에는 인치 치수 이혜가 수월해 졌어요. 개인적으로 측정한결 결과, 천 제질이 금속같이 정확한 공정이 어려워서 인지는 모르겠지만, 제본 설계 치수 간격이 1/4 인치 (6.35 mm) 보다 더 세밀 하지는 않은 거 같아요.
