Friend and I rented this game on a whim when it came out and actually ended up enjoying it a lot, except for that final stretch where the difficulty hiked up.
Love them ! Underrated how your main guys are bad and criminals not the normal goodie 2 shoes! Games should copy that format with great storytelling maybe making them change and become good hearted through the journey!!
This game was only really acceptable in Co-Op, and while playing as Lynch. Still one of my favortie gaming moments when on my screen Cops were rushing us, but on my friend's screen I was just mowing down civillians. But other than that, I really only remember the dump truck and that the skyscraper mission exists.
I still unironically love both Kane and Lynch games. The best part is you can play them back to back in 8 hours, that's 2 games for the time commitment of 1!
SAME! That shaky camcorder style drew me in at first since I’d never seen anything like it. Within maybe 2 hours it gave me nausea that not even a vr game could replicate.
@@Jay_Costanza It gave me a hangover, literally. I finished it with my younger brother in a single session, and I remember laughing our asses off at the ending. The amount of audacity it takes to end a game like that... unbelievable.
I personally think Dead Men is superior to Dog Days. The graphics definitely look better, the gunplay mechanics are a lot more polished, the squad management system adds a layer of strategy to your encounters, and the story is so much more detailed and involved than whatever Dog Days had.
This video made me remember I played this game at the Boys and girls club as a kid. I had so much fun doing the bank heist and other missions, mainly because that was one of the few shooters I ever played. Game definitely didn't age well, but oh man did it give a kid a great experience
What a fantastic game for kids to play at the Boys and Girls club. Lol like wtf were they thinking, let's let them play a game where not only can you murder innocent civilians but it doesn't even give you an instant game over when you do.
Kane and Lynch wants to be Heat so bad, but it's like if McCauley and Waingro teamed up for some reason. There's no reason why the duo would ever team up and stick together in either game.
It's explained in the story. Lynch is The 7's watchdog who's supposed to make sure that Kane retrieves what he stole from them. If Lynch reports good news, then Kane's wife and daughter won't be harmed. That's why they're together.
how does it want to be heat so bad... it got inspired by it sure but the set pieces aren't directly ripped off like something from GTA 5 instead kane and lynch wants it to be it's own story and have its own world.... you do realise that rockstar got heavily inspired by kane and lynch for their 4th and 5th mainlined installment in the GTA series... so what do you have to say about that now?
Great game. I especially loved the moment where Kane said "it's Kanin' time" and Lynch said "it's lynchin' time". Definitely one of the games of all time.
Your comment on the bank being in a Walmart is not far off. I worked at a bank in a Walmart once, and only managed to stick it out for like two months. Not the best job I ever had, but also, not the worst. If you're wondering what kind of bank has a local inside a Walmart, it's exactly the kind of bank you'd imagine would set up shop inside a Walmart.
I played split screen coop with my cousin back when this came out. It was actually a really enjoyable experience and mad funny. The coop experience made the game bearable.
It took me over half this video to realize that I actually had beaten Kane and lynch way back when when it came out lmao. That’s how forgettable it was I was like huh this feels familiar
Both Kane and Lynch games are misunderstood classics in my opinion. Love the action, love the dark tone of the plot, love the raw honesty the characters were written with. Kane and Lynch rocks.
8:55 Yakuza beat them to this idea by several years, iirc in Yakuza 1 on PS2, Majima drives a dump truck into the Shangri-La nightclub during a clan war.
Bruh the game came out in 07 this series is brilliant and has room for growth, image if Rockstar had this title in their hands in todays engine and story writing. They gave up on this amazing game
In retrospect, having the ability to download demos for the first time on the 7th gen consoles probably saved me a lot of money. Managed to avoid stuff like this, The Club and Stranglehold.
In fairness, smart police chases happen below the speed limit, above the speed limit it becomes more dangerous to drive and it’s much riskier, however even after 30mph it’s very hard to actually get stopped by the police, as long as you don’t let them overtake or trap you in an ambush.
I'd say it was a good game for the time, I mean your talking about a split screen shooter in 2008 with only adult themes, the action is so tense, the end of the game was so difficult I loved the experience. Kane and Lynch never flinches and I think it's a solid 7/10
Thought this and the second one was pretty great. No feel good endings and the the multiplayer in the second one had a really interesting and intense multiplayer. Got crazy betrayals and intense shootouts over the last van out of the area. Plus the gritty feeling of Shanghai was fresh.
I remember playing watching the demo from the hit an trilogy for PS2 and thinking it looked so dope. Then I got to play the game. It was not as expected. I always thought that it would be better as a TV show or movie. A lot of promise but never really panned out.
They were good concepts but executed in not the best way. They remain a cult classic but could never reach mainstream appeal, both because of the extremely gritty and dark story and the janky gameplay
I actually remember loving this game as a kid because I would only ever play it at my cousin's house and we'd usually play together with something playing the background
After playing it on PC, I found the experience a bit better than I remembered on console. Albeit, more NPCs were t-posing on the PC version, but man was it easier to beat the game on high difficulty.
To be honest, this is my favorite bad game of all time, but the worst part is that the truck driver I've been trying to kill it from killing Jenny is the worst mission that I am stuck on it
Kane and Lynch 1 is one of the most frustrating gaming experiences I've had. I lost several missions because of glitches. The last straw was the mission in the nightclub. I tried walking through the club with the escort, but they kept dying. So I left the escort in the first room and killed all the enemies in the nightclub. But then I got outside and was locked out of the club. I could see my escort through the skylight, but when I ordered them to follow me the game would tell me they died
Kane & Lynch was pretty rough around the edges, but there are a few aspects I can appreciate like the environmental attention to detail (even if a lot of it's just reserved for dumb jokes).
dang, I remember playing the multiplayer when this game was big, and the way you could turn on your homies and steal their money too was the best part. i also played the hell out of the story
I don't think you understand the genre. A mix of max payne and hitman, 2 psychos playing as hero's when there just bad men it's one of my favourite games.
This game was Brilliant! Actually one of my all time favourites... How this game got such bad reviews is beyond me?! I tried to get this on PC off Steam but it seems to be permanently 'temporarily removed' downloaded K&L 2 dead men which won't play on Onexplayer for some reason I'm still trying to figure out so I'll just have to play it one Xbox 360 as it's won't play on xbox series x (K&L 2 will play) Still a great game loved the characters and everything about it....
I really liked all of the unique types of guns in the game. Since it was set in Asia you had a lot of guns and such that you would never find anywhere else.
I stopped playing this in the final level the guns can’t hit anything and enemies just hit you from everywhere. Just kept going down and having existential crisis while my teammates did nothing.
I love these games. They tell a cool and engaging story and it doesn't shit all over the gameplay. I also love how the second one plays like you're watching a documentary but still functions perfectly well.
I loved this game it was a xbox underrated classic. It was a good break from the call of duty craze. Me and my cousin beat together and never switch roles when the second game came out we felt like we was kane and lynch
Bro, the cities in Kane and Lynch 1 are so poor, they couldn't afford the small box spaces for the sodas to come out. You gotta find an employee to open the machines and get the soda out for you
Oh no, I got bamboozled into playing this **piece of media** by game journalism back in the paper magazines' days. They REEAAALLLLYY pushed such amazing features as clothes being made from actual polygons, not just textures smothered over the character model.
I don't know if I can't remember if there was ever a helicopter fight.. but I would be actually genuinely surprised if there wasn't a helicopter fight.. like didn't you kill like like a good couple of dozen of your clones..? Isn't like the entire last section just you killing you over like like corridor science early 2000s sci-fi secret lab stuff..? So yeah like I would I would think at least at some point somebody in a helicopter didn't make it.. like everybody was doing that back then.. and this was definitely the kind of game series that did it, not this Hitman LOL.. back when you could have an action game that didn't mind being an action game, while letting you manually lean around corners and have a basic autonomy.. apparently you could have gameplay that was slightly open rather than hyperfocused into one particular mode of play.. fortunately this hasn't changed although this game is an example of when they didn't do that particular thing and did the opposite.. the polar freaking opposite.. You said that there was this most seventh generation game of all time.. I'm pretty sure this is actually the most 7th generation game of all time.. this is the culmination of everything that everybody was trying to be and only 50 cent in blood and Sand ever actually achieved..
