@@bldontmatter5319 You say that like previous Call of Duty's required a significant amount of brain work. The series has always been mindless, action-y schlock, and there's nothing wrong with that.
I am convinced in a parallel universe the XM8 was actually adopted and replaced the m4 and all those games that used it so often during those years came from a wormhole in time and space
In the other universe, old games set in the future would have the M5 (yes it's a thing), and people would laugh at the devs who thought that rifle would be adopted
Black Ops 2 was a great mix of future and present tech. Great characters coming back, Great Zombies, and a great Multiplayer. Black Ops 3 could have easily been up there as well but ended having nothing to do with the Black Ops series. I might also just be blinded by nostalgia but I’d still regard this as the last best COD.
@@KL4B yes and that reminds me remember in retro cod games that took place in ww2 that show your comrades dying and your heart is pumping with adrenaline and your are sweating constantly and you felt and feared that you don’t end up like them you felt like you are in a real life war zone but in this game you saw and fight with some of your comrades and some of your comrades dying in the most stupid ways and repetitive ways which literally took the fun out of playing this game and at too some point at some point in every mission I always started with an access kit which allows me to get additional teammates or firepower to help me achieve my goals which was the only fun this game has you know yes but there’s like so many ways to complete this game but at the end of the day none of the endings except the best ending are polished and the things that the developer and publisher set up to do the rights choices are like most of them are cryptic and annoying and they are just terrible this campaign and it’s characters are terrible my friend I am sorry ladies and gentlemen who are watching this reply but it’s true but at least I had fun playing this campaign and finally got the best ending because if I don’t get the best ending so often I am just gonna be mad this games campaign and it’s characters are so average at first and I am disappointed and I am sorry to hear that
Except Menendez was a trash villain with trash motivation "USA Keel My Seester...time to deestory ENTIRE WORLD!!!", its a bit like nuking your entire home country as revenge for a drunk driver in your home town running over your dog
I laughed out loud at that first time playing. "hmm who are the baddies this time around" Cubans, elite rank, state of the art tech Me: wait...what? CUBANS?! HAHAHAHAH
What I found funny is how in multiplayer the mercenaries were voiced by ppl from various Anglophone countries when in campaign they were clearly from across Latin America.
That level is set in Angola during the Angolan Civil War. Irl the Cubans sent troops to help the communist faction. They didn't just make it up for this game. Its not a super state with high tech gear. All their stuff was given to them by the Soviets and its not even high tech so idk why you said that
There are three things you should add to your FPS game : -Make Piano Noises when you shoot Him in His Keys - Scatter civilians all over the map for no reason -Possibility of slicing fruits
i remember this being the last cod campaign I played and never finished, I remember being kinda freaked out by how every melee kill/dramatic finish had you looking into the dudes eyes as the life drained from their virtual bodies felt kinda gross
@@Jon_1996. Yes, that's why none of us feel emotions due to reading books, watching movies, playing games, etc. Fiction is unable to affect us because it's not literally real.
god i remember COD from COD 4: Modern warfare to black ops 2 was my favourite after school game..... i remember hitting max prestige in them all, i feel so old.
Black Ops 2 was wild to play as a kid My dad fought in this war and he was on the forces we kill in the game I have friends who live in the areas it happened Weird
This game was the last great 7th gen CoD - it had incredible multiplayer (most of the maps are back in 2021s Black Ops cold war) and zombies and the campaign was quite interesting following up from World at War and BlOps 1 before Blops 3 started tripping acid. This was the most fun, most value for money CoD I've ever owned and in my opinion this was when Treyarch was better than the post-Zampella/West Infinity Ward. Kudos!
For me it was IW (referring to best value COD). I loved the zombies (Director's Cut still the best end game ee), the campaign was great, and the multiplayer was... not terrible (pre-nerf Proteus anyone?) Oh and I didn't really like BO3
There is an alternate dimension where the gaming press doesnt shit on 2012 as it was the the last year that absolute bangers came out in the action genre. It's like they ignore the fact that Far Cry 3, Max Payne 3, World at War 3 and other 3s came out that year. Binary Domain was sweet to
Cold war had a pretty cool and unique story but mw19's story had nothing memorable about it except for the clean house mission, modern warfare 2007 was so much better
Mw and mw2 reboot campaign is shit, the only thing they have better is the gun play but the story is just utter borefest while you can defend burger king from Russian invasion in og mw2.
Treyarch literally could’ve stopped here and we would’ve a coherent timeline. But now we have Black Ops 3, Black Ops 4, Cold War, the entire Modern Warfare reboot, Vanguard and Warzone all in the same damn timeline
Dude Infinite Warfare was the last great cod campaign. It was the last call of duty to deliver an original, compelling story filled with a decent plot, addictive game play, and a cast of original characters that didn't just feed off of fan base nostalgia. Seriously, that game needs more credit
Ladies and gentlemen I am gonna level with you okay this guy only gets 3 levels in the entire game and this character had none of the e3 trailers rough charm the iconic familiarity between the protagonists is not here this poor guy felt like he was rushed grossly unfairly developed and ill considered only to culminate into the biggest F you death scene since 2012 no not the complete 180 bad death scenes in other good movies and games where you scream like a maniac or you are just scratching your head and go to your nearby laptop or whatever to try and figure out what the heck is going on nope this one had the audacity to just say screw it for real characters dead thanks for the money losers which ending did you get we don’t know and who cares we got your money already what are you gonna do about it huh just play the multiplayer and zombies we carried over from the last game
Dude, press f isn’t just a cod meme, it’s for all the internet, for all pop culture, so I’m going to pay my respects to the cod games of old and press F Feel free to join me, other people
@@aidenp6001 'Press F to pay respects' is *_from_* Call of Duty. The reason it extends beyond that into wider culture is because it's such a lazy, insincere, tactless, and laughably bad way of expressing a genuine sentiment. Boiling the emotional turbulence that is human experience of grief into a single button press was seen as unintentional comedy more than anything else. 'F to pay respects' as a meme started as an _insult_ , and it's no surprise the Terminally Online took it as a genuine form of consolation.
Really digging how the random rock band at the end had invisible guitar straps lmao. Could the engine just not handle rendering some straps for a cutscene or did the devs just say screw it?
Seeing Woods and Mendoza playing with Avenged Sevenfold was ridiculous but damn does that song go hard. Same with the Skrillex song that plays in the club, this game definitely had some bangers
Not-Hillary-Clinton being the president in every game and movie from that time was actually pretty good foresight on their part, because whoever the president is at any given time, it'll always be not hillary clinton lmao
I finally got my joke into an Oboe video and I couldn’t be happier As soon as I heard him reading my comment about “giving the A7X guy creative control of COD” I KNEW right away I just got the ending joke to an Oboeshoes video
this was the first video game i played not on a wii when i was at a friends house for a sleep over. shit opened my eyes to what gaming really was. insane how 10 years later you can download plutonium and do matchmaking with over 1k people and do zombies with over 500 people. game is still relatively alive, ive never had a problem finding a multiplayer or zombies game
Probably last great online. But if we are talking campaign this was only unique for choices, but that doesn’t make it close to the best. If you want a better campaign, Infinite Warfare was incredible and anyone who played it will back me up.
Im pretty sure the guy who wanted A7x at the end did work on all the black ops, as A7x are in every one of them in some way but cold war lmao Fun fact! They actually have four songs written for the series!
I remember being blown away that BLOPS 2 had a divergent storyline. Like, If you don't rescue hackerlady then shit gets worse. It was wild to me since up to that point the campaigns were good but predictable and linear
Back then I thought all of the cool futuristic stuff in Black Ops 2 would be a reality once we actually reached 2025. Sadly, my dreams aged poorly as I was a stupid and naive kid. No holographic computers. No wrist mounted grenade launchers. No nano gloves. The KAP-40 which is the KRISS KARD in real life has seemingly disappeared, as it hasn’t proceeded past the prototype phase. Hilary Clinton lost the election which I believe was a good thing, but is ironic for me to say since the President in Black Ops 2 looks so much like her. Los Angelas hasn’t been destroyed by a swarm of rogue drones, which is actually a good thing. The M8A1 which is the XM8, hasn’t ever resurfaced since the project was abandoned over a decade ago. And there isn’t an Aircraft Carrier in active service called the USS Obama.
COD died for me with zombies. When it came out thats ALL my friends every wanted to play split screen, every time I asked "hey lets do a 1v1 or 2v2" NOPE just zombies, FUCK zombies, they ruined CoD, aside from greed
@@choo-choo4269 It ain't bait, Zombies really did have a significant impact on Call of Duty and for those that don't enjoy it, it was a negative one. Last time I even took a look at the Zombie stuff in modern CoD it read like I needed the fucking Silmarillion to understand what the hell was going on. 'Shit's bloated af
@@username1660 That's why the Easter eggs are optional, you don't need to understand the story to play zombies. Besides, tf you mean by negative impact. The story is complicated, so what? It's like saying that every other game that has more than 2 lines on wikipedia is making negative impacts because of people who don't wanna read that. The dude above just dislikes the mode because his friends loved it, which is not even a good reason either
