I fell in love with Gabi in his first PL match in 2020, I think we were playing Fulham. I rate him ahead of every defender in the world right now, except for Saliba. For me he's clear of Militao, Rudiger, VvD, Dias etc. in terms of overall play - with and without the ball. And even in comparison with Saliba (which am trying to avoid), it's only in terms of style. Saliba has some flair that Gabi lacks, but if you look at it from a substance point of view, Gabi is just as good as Saliba. If we exclude Saliba's dribbling, calmness, and aura, to focus solely on defending your goal.
Exactly every rolls Royce cb needs an aggressive duel winner. And Saliba also benefits from Gabriel being the main cb to take on duels and be the first to engage
I think we forget how many times Gabriel cleans up a small Saliba mistake. Because it doesn’t lead to a goal like Gabriel’s mistakes before have we don’t remember the mistakes Saliba can make
gabriel didnt have that madrid PR treatment, thats how goes to every arsenal star player, arsenal really need major trophy either it EPL or CL to stop all these pundit disrespecting and clearly acknowledge arsenal star player as world class level, it sound sad but thats how it worked to get acknowledge not individual stat but what major trophy that they had won

Arsenal Internet fans in a nutshell, create chaos and division for absolutely no reason while fans of other clubs are busy backing their teams, what happened to the days when all fans did was support their teams, not a single arsenal fan underrates him, people are just angry because we refuse to compare him to saliba because we respect them equally, real arsenal fans don't care what anyone else think about our players, like we genuinely don't care, it's these new fans having debates with opposing fans and frankly we don't care
For starters unless we’re talking 2 decades ago I’m not a new fan. The same fan that says that Arsenal fans just used to back their team solely. Is just not true. Fans will always have their criticisms and maybe ur out of touch after Gabriel made a mistake but twitter was on him. Ppl say don’t look at twitter but that’s literally where 90% of fans are.
