DJ Shadow, widely acknowledged as a crucial figure in the development of experimental, instrumental hip-hop, has returned with ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ via Mass Appeal Records [and Believe Digital in France]. His first full length release since 2011, the 12-track album finds DJ Shadow exploring new realms in addition to the deep samples and kinetic soundscapes that helped to launch his career 20 years ago. On ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ he’s shifted further toward original composition, a vast experimentation of beats and textures, synthesizers and live instruments including horns and woodwinds. The album features Run The Jewels, Nils Frahm, Matthew Halsall, Ernie Fresh and more.

this song...off silicon valley brought me here, and I'm just an average, middle aged, mom to dozens and I love this song! It kicked face, felt right in the pocket with every beat. They brought you in with the music, actual sounds then slammed it with crazy real lyrics, then dropped some jazz on us and brought in synths...NOT ONE THING WRONG WITH THIS SONG OR THE MUSIC. I'd say Rigby but I think I covered that already. Wait, I was wrong, they could add to the video by putting Shia Lebouf somewhere in the background trailing behind with his stump leg carrying a chainsaw...just for kicks!
