Please do keep exporting it that way. Even if the video is actually 1080p, you'll see quality improvements because you're allocated more bandwidth for 4k from youtube. I've tried it myself and even uploaded 720p videos to 4k to extract native quality. Good work!
I’m so happy this channel exists! You’re the first video reviewer that makes me feel like I’m holding the flashlight myself. Keep up the awesome work!!!
I just ordered one from Hank. The new ones have a smooth battery tube so I had to order the aggressive knurling tube from him with it. I have welding/mechanic hands so the rough knurling won't bother me one bit plus I love the way it looks. . Great video on the DM11, the reason I ordered one, Thumbs up!
I have the xhp35 HI and W2 on order right now, but may have to grab this 5000k b35am too, as i was already considering it but your video shows that it is pretty compelling. thanks LW!
I’m surprised nobody has commented on the music in this one, it really jumped out at me, in a good way, and it was totally supporting the content, not hogging the spotlight. I really liked it, especially at the beginning with those pitch shifts that go delightfully dissonant a little. Really scratches ear itches I didn’t know I had - felt great. Did you make the music, too?
I'm glad you liked the music, I didn't make it this time around. The track is "Sun Machine One" by Loopop - one of my favorite youtubers. He uploads deep dives into various pieces of music production gear and is an inspiration to me both for his musical and presentation skills: www.youtube.com/@loopop
Hank sold me a floody optic along with my DM11 for $3, but I don't know if he has a large stock of them. I haven't been this eager for a flashlight to arrive in a long time.
Good to know it's possible to order the other optics... Maybe I'll order the sanded optic for my B35 light. The hype for the DM11 made the wait for this one really hard 😂
I ordered the grey version with a W2 emitter. Bro you weren’t joking about the shipping either. I ordered a D4v2 on the 3rd and well it did make it to the states but been stuck in Texas for several days. I ordered this light with the 25 dollar “fast” shipping Thursday and its already in Memphis tenn. 🤷🏻♂️. Looking forward to your full review. You’re reviews are by far my favorites among all of the other reviews. You’re reviews are knowledgeable and entertaining. Keep it up 👊🏼
It is all your fault , definitely absolutely that's what I told my wife when she asked me did I buy another light (or three lol) thank you , stunning videos can't wait for my large parcel to hit the UK all from Hank .
9 days from China to Wales UK that is fast ,will test them tonight ,thank you lux it was your reviews that convinced me to buy them ,no clips with any of the lights ? but not a big deal cheers 🙂
Thank you I love it ,light weight nice beam have not tried the full turbo still in safe mode lol anyone thinking of buying go for it 9.5 from me cheers
Man... With the 26800 tube coming out for the D4SV2 and this light having such a similar size - that's a missed opportunity. I know that fatty lights aren't for everyone, but I love 'em and the knurling is quite a bit less dramatic than the stuff on this 21700 tube. Maybe the community could talk him into developing one, if the cell would fit into the head at the contact.
Oh cmon I’ve already spent some money on a few flashlights in the last couple months. But I am a fan and buyer of a few of hanks flashlights so I guess I’m buying myself a Xmas gift
That’s easy. Stop having a regular life and just make content for my entertainment 😂 btw this video caused me to buy one of these. With the medium optic and an xhp 50.3 hi 4000k. Thanks for making me spend more money
That would havbe been cool. I believe the optic used in the Catapult Mini is the same as the IF22A, which is the same in the normal DM11. However, the optic has to be modified to fit the B35AM, since that LED has a different height and causes rings in the beam with the spot optic. That's actually why this light has the floody optic, as that was Hank's solution before he started modifiying the optics for the Nichias.
Do you know if the “medium angle optic” he sells as an add-on is the one you got with yours? I’ve been looking for a light with anduril, aux LEDs, and high cri, that has a balance of throw and flood. I’ve found multi emitter lights are too floody. Big reflector lights are to throwy, and don’t fit in the pocket well, and it tends to be difficult to offer aux LEDs with a reflector. Now this one looks a bit too big for pocket carry and I wish there was a tube style 21700 light that fit my wants. Closest is a convoy s21e, which would be about perfect period except for it has a pretty bad UI. No auxiliary LEDs I could accept. So with the less intensely focused optic you have, would it be closer to that middle of the road beam?
Yes that is the same optic, and it will give a nice balanced beam, though it will still be on the throwier side unless you have a larger emitter like the B35AM here.
Thanks. Ya the b35am is what I had in mind. Or maybe an xhp 50.3hi in high cri. I like my lights to be a bit throwy, but not a pencil beam. Somewhere in the 20-30 cd/L area
@@victorvannatter312 I love the B5AM, it's my favorite LED for thsi lgiht. The XHP is also a great option that will provide better performance and will be a bit throwier.
Received my xhp50.3 hi 5000k. This is a very nice light. My first hank. Measured 1944 L on turbo. The big optic is gorgeous with the aux LEDs. Have both medium and tight optic and currently have medium installed. Only thing I don’t like is the button is so recessed it’s difficult to use with the flat of my thumb. Need to use my nail. Can’t wait for dark. This is the second hit to my wallet from your videos
I'm not sure, I want to review the KR1 but I was planning on the XPL-Hi for that light. I probably won't acquire one until after the DM11 review though
I hope you dont mind me asking here, what emitter should i order in the KR1 to get the 9A driver? I'm planning to upgrade the KR1 to an SBT90.2 and would like to have more than 7.5A available.
I don't think Hank sells a 9A driver in the KR1, you might have to email him. However If the SFT40 becomes available soon in that light, it will probably have a 9A driver
Where are you getting batteries for Hanks lights. I just purchased a Hank light and didn't realize there was no battery included. Having a hard time finding the right battery.
I purchase from 18650batterystore.com and illumn.com (which are US-based retailers). Batteries have to be purchased from reputable sources for safety reasons, so you'll have to do some research into good battery retailers
Why is there no hole for a lanyard ? I don't want to wear a clip that will damage the anodizing. Even in the Noctigon K1 there is a hole for a lanyard. And why is there no DM11 inscription on the tailpiece, but only Noctigon? Strange. Hank was obviously in a hurry with the release of this model, having unfinished part of the work.
The linear driver can support it, but the optic doesn't have a large enough opening. Hank says there's no plans for an SBT90.2 version.... But he tends to say things like that and release it later down the road. Don't plan on it though
@@LuxWad thanks for the reply! Since I got the K1 with that LED I am addicted, of course that’s a much different form factor! However the KR1 has that emitter option and that’s roughly the same size as this light isn’t it? Btw is lionheart_2281 from BLF 😊
Yeah the KR1 does have it, the reflector opening is a bit larger than the optic in the DM11. I do hope this light will have the option somehow, as the SBT90 is just an amazing emitter... If you happen to try out the Wurkkos TS30S, it's a bit larger than this light and has the luminous
Hank makes it hard for me to want to save money lol Right now I really want to do: DM11 B35AM 3500k D4Sv2 W1/XP-L HD or LH351D 4000k Brass D4v2 E21a 2000k/6000k K1 W1 Green
Your DT8 review sent me to Mr. Wang, which is awesome (despite constantly flashing the light in my eyes as I change Andruil settings). I just ordered the DM11. BTW, is Mr. Hank Wang a real person? I just ask cause I figure every guy will trust someone named "Hank" and well, I'll leave the surname alone, but between his name and his products, I figure it's a winning combination. So thanks, keep it up and obviously the D4V2 is in my proverbial crosshairs.
Lol, "Hank" is his English name. He's been a part of the flashlight community for a long time and is active on budgetlightforum.com. He doesn't actually make the lights, he designs them with input from the community, and puts them together with a colleague, but Hank is the business-owner and only named person behind intl-outdoor
@@LuxWad My DM11 just arrived. Beautiful. The aux LED effect via the reflector is stunning. I had ordered it with the same configuration in this video. Thanks to you, I am actually kinda pleased now when my dog decides she needs to go out in the middle of the night. Not sure how she feels about all the new illumination ruining her privacy but I will note that her and the DT8 certainly shocked the hell out a poor bunny last night. ha ha.
Not really anything in this size range, you'll want to step up to a multi-cell/pop-can style light for that. Any light of that stype should be able to sustain that amount of output
@@HitoriGnocchi I figured if my current flashlight can maintain 1,000 lumens for 2.5 hours with one 18650 I would think that someone could make one which could do double or triple that.
