Plop validator nodes as power plants all over land. Maybe they farm extra energy for battles slowly overtime thus making a nice cross over between all the different game modes

I think land game play should evolve overtime and be a part of the main game play of Splinterlands. I think Splinterlands should update their game play. I like how cards and castles 2 has done it. It should be capable for the Splinterlands team to update their gameplay then turn it into something similar to that. Overall it would be good long term for everyone involve in Splinterlands and be great for new player experience.
