Just discovered your channel and am subscribing. I wish other RU-vid watch reviewers would copy your overall format. No LONG 15 sec channel intro with gimmicky graphics and annoying music; you immediately go through the dimensions; you give a great objective opinion; and you provide great macros shots! Everything I look for in a concise and informative review. Plus I really appreciate the breadth of watches you choose to review. Too many channels are either 90% diver, Seiko, or high horology obsessed. Thank you for your efforts in creating this great content for horology geeks like me!

Nice Video! I was out in LA and picked up a Nodus Sector Field in the Smoke. Met Wes, one of the owners, at a brewery, had some beers and good convos, and bought the watch in person. Love the company and the watch looks nice even on my big 8" wrist.

Awesome. It always makes it better with microbrands if you can have that kind of connection. Hope you enjoy your watch!

I love the bit where you compare the dial of the Nodus to a Glashutte Original! 😂👍🏻

Haha well I got to fumé dials in front of me so why not!

Definitely one of the best implementations of a 4 o'clock date window I've seen. I really like the fumé effect as well, it increases legibility significantly on my Zelos watch. I think down the line, they should make a GMT watch like this that has the 2nd time zone in the sector and then red between them. Sort of like the Nomos following the same concept (which I appreciate is in house and it cost them $10mil to develop that movement! But there has to be a way to do it cheaper). By the way, I think the clasp is milled but not a metallurgy expert by any means.

Don't we all carry micro fiber cloths in our pockets? Great review...Now seeing this up close I can see how close it is to my Yema Flygraf. The shape of the case is almost exact. A lot of similar design cues on the dial. yes there are differences, but I think if i owned one it would overlap too much. Loved seeing it on all the straps. Great photography per usual!
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 3 года назад
Oh ya I think pockets should just be made of microfiber. And I do think the yema is quite close to Nodus so it would end up being one or the other.

gradients on watches are really growing on me especially textured dials, JLC vibes

great detailed review, thanks :) agreed about the bezel, wish it was matte ...but that being said, i personally think that Nodus designs beautiful unique watches and is one of the best looking microbrands out there today ...personally i really wish that they would produce in more quantity however ...quite difficult to get many of the best microbrand watches as they always sell out far too quickly.
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 3 года назад
Thanks. Ya some of these microbrands are hard to get hold of which is good for them but sometime they are limited to how much capital they can put upfront, ho much room they have for storage, etc. and for nodus they regulate the movements and I believe assemble the watches themselves so it quite literally is also a manpower bottleneck.
@S_G_86
@S_G_86 3 года назад
As much as I loved their dial and general design of the watch, 425$ for an NH35 is a bit steep in my opinion.
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 3 года назад
I can see that but the movement is regulated and I think the rest of the watch substitutes the price. Any better movement would make the watch increase by at least 100
@S_G_86
@S_G_86 3 года назад
@@theknightswatch Yes I see that but it still doesn't justify the price for me. Maybe because I owned Seiko Srpe55 with 4R36 movement which has a mineral glass but price was 200 USD. Regulation of same movement + Sapphire glass makes this watch's price nearly more than doubles that Seiko. Of course comparing a mainstream brand to a microbrand is not exactly apples to apples comparison but still.. Maybe I'm tired to see this NH35 in every microbrand , want to see some new movements :)
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 3 года назад
@@S_G_86 makes sense. To me the nh35 is one of the best choices out there. It’s cost effective and reliable. Stepping up to Swiss would be expensive, and usually you don’t see microbrands using higher end Seiko movements only Seiko does.
@S_G_86
@S_G_86 3 года назад
@@theknightswatch yes you are right , I have no complaints with Seiko NH35 in the past , really reliable long-lasting movement. And I would prefer it over any midrange Miyota movements definitely.
@mariog7213
@mariog7213 3 года назад
I don’t agree. The nh35 is a very robust movement and since it’s inexpensive more money can be directed towards finishing, build quality, and other specs which for me is most important tbh. As long as the movement is reliable and within reasonable accuracy I don’t mind

I would like to know your thoughts about Nove watches
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 3 года назад
Not really my style. Of course I haven’t had hands on but just looks to be another overpriced fashion brand. I enjoy that they do seem to have some originality but I’m sure the quality for price they are asking aren’t quite in line. If you love the look then go for it but there’s a lot of better stuff out there from a quality and build standpoint

Looks good, but why are they adding 24 hour time in the middle? Its not usable, cudda put the minute markers there instead. Idk seems like a wasted opportunity
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 3 года назад
There’s plenty of field style watches that have that inner 24 hour time. Like the snk pilot and hamilton khaki king. May not be a style you like though but they are coming out with different variations in this case size/shape.

What an attractive watch, Nodus seems to make great products. How would this compare to a Traska Summiteer?
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 3 года назад
I’d pick this over the Summiteer personally, I like the case and finishing much more. The Summiteer is a cleaner watch overall if that’s what your looking for but I would say the Nodus is the better one overall.
@BrakkoJanus
@BrakkoJanus 3 года назад
@@theknightswatch makes sense, just looking at it the Nodus looks incredibly well finished! It only lacks the hardening Traska has, but everything else seems top notch, the dial is so detailed. Looks a tad bigger though...
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 3 года назад
@@BrakkoJanus I’d honestly say the Nodus feels smaller even though the sizes are pretty similar. I’ve seems used Traskas comes up for sale with scratches so I wouldn’t have the coating be the deciding factor. Plus I think this light grey tone to the blasted case looks much better than the dull gunmetal of the traska treatment.
@BrakkoJanus
@BrakkoJanus 3 года назад
@@theknightswatch that's surprising, thanks for taking the time to answer my questions! Thickness and lug to lug worried me the most.
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 3 года назад
@@BrakkoJanus ya the Nodus is a little bigger in outright dimension but it wears very well. Again the traska will be the choice if you just want something super minimal and clean.
