I don’t want to over intellectualise Noel however I find him to be a fascinating individual. He has “it” that is undefinable. I was there at Knebworth and I was 18. I didn’t realise until years later that it was indeed history being created. Noel is a great musician obviously. He is also brutally honest which is difficult for me to fully get my head around. He has bags of charisma and is philosophically very sharp indeed. I don’t always agree with everything he says but I would definitely love to sit down for dinner with him and just listen to him all night. I’m dying of a spine problem slowly and very painfully and it really does make me think of my life and Knebworth is up there and also all of the tunes instantly transport me to very specific feelings and times. I wish I could just say thanks to Noel for creating the very cliched phrase of creating the soundtrack to my life. “Whatever” I think I’ll have at my funeral. Mega band that meant/ means the world to me.
@@deanvo503 alright thanks. Still struggling a lot. Luckily there is a bit of hope with some more surgery…basically my discs have turned to mush and I’ve got cracks in my vertabra so it really painful - I’m not THAT old at 42 and I’ve had it all my life so I am used to it. Music is one of the only things that really gets be through…amazing what it can do - it’s like a time machine for me, it just instantly takes me back to a different place and time.
The difference today to the 1990s and before is that music no longer dominates youth culture. Now creative young people can invest their creativity by creating a RU-vid profile or creating an Instagram profile etc... Young people have kinda moved on from popular music and are doing other things. In the second half of the 20th Century music was everything to young people, particularly creative young people.
Yup. Young people went from pouring their creativity into musicianship and songwriting that resonated with people emotionally and turned to churning out TikTok videos of themselves eating Tide Pods and putting mentos into Coke bottles. Fantastic.
Lol what? We are living in a time where individuality is at its peak and we certainly don’t go all in one direction. That’s a pretty ridiculous statement.
Good luck to you, Aran. Remember what Prince said, you play the computer, don't let the computer play you. Spend less time on that thing, enjoy real life more, do real things in the real world. It's hard to do.
People were a lot less flakey back then. If you and your friends were going to meet up at a certain place at a certain time, everybody actually showed up because there was no way to change plans last minute and let people know.
People record with their phones in concerts because they want to keep the "memory", or uploade it to youtube, etc. But it really is unnecessary, and makes you miss the fun
@@bbsoni4814 i think the problem is not really internet itself, i think till the end of MSN internet was quite okay. After facebook and instagram everything got a bullshit
@@ustheserfs I’m completely indifferent to anything connected old German family from Buckingham Palace so am not arsed in slightest what he thinks about any of them what I have got an opinion on, as have millions of others, is his choice of ‘newspaper’ to use voice his views……
@@ustheserfs he could do it with the Dandy or Beano for what it’s worth mate,….anyone…, just not the ones who hack the phones of murdered teenagers & maliciously tell lies about football fans as they die, then stand by all the bullshite, even repeating, for decades after, ruining good knows how many family’s lives
Noel is one of my favourite people ever , his chats are amazing , he has pulled me through some dark times in my life , if I'm having a bad day ill watch an interview with noel, his celebrity stories are second to none , he makes me laugh and just isn't bothered by these far left extreme arses that try and run the country , look up noel stories on Jason Donovan, its a mad story , there is one of a party at George micheals , he is just quality at sharing things about his life with other celebs that will make you laugh His questions and answers with matt Morgan are just hilarious as well We need more interviews with noel 🙏
We drove the whole day to find a tiny coach firm in a tiny village in Yorkshire to buy travel and entry tickets they had to the knebworth gig. The last left in the county. Yea no internet back then. Great times 😁 🇬🇧
Great interview he spoke a great deal of sense and summed up scenarios perfectly. Now there was a time when I couldn’t have said that of Noel with a straight face! They’ll never be another Noel Gallagher the songwriter. The worst part about reminiscing about the 90’s Oasis is they’ll never give us what we all really want, just one more gig/performance! Enjoyed it so much I’m going to hit the subscribe button
I totally agree. The 90’s was the last great decade. Not just for music but football as well. Although the 80’s will always be the greatest decade for football in my opinion. Whatever you think of Noel, you can never call him boring!!
Noel and Liam should at least become brothers again. They both still speak positive about their past experiences of being in Oasis. They really should make up, as life is too short.
I'm mostly an 80s soul ... but have to agree that the 90s were the last great decade ... imposible no to love noel -- firing up straight facts as lethal bullets
On filming performing artists, I always have 1 rule - if 3 or more people are filming the acts with their camcorders or smartphones, don’t join in with them and live in the moment. I had a friend who would always insist on filming every comedian or musician or band there was in Benidorm in 2015/2016 everytime we went to see them and he would try to get ME to do it, what a cheek. Whipping out camcorders and/or smartphones is fun at a party or march/protest, just not when you’re trying to watch an artist perform in front of you.
“Whipping out a smartphone is fun at a party or protest/March…” that sums up exactly what Noel was going on about the world turning to 💩. Now shut up, and put that dress on!
I believe they have some kind of production company thing going as well as the Knebworth doc, plus Noel has put out a ‘best of’ for his solo albums, so it does makes me wonder. Liam did tweet about dropping 3 solo studio albums (3rd one reportedly coming out this year) and then he wants Oasis back together in 2022. Given that they were both at Porto I hope they had a bump in and hopefully a friendly chat. Here’s the link to the tweet: twitter.com/liamgallagher/status/1215000310931963905?s=20
I don't even want them back together as a band. Let them just be on speaking terms again, if only for their mom. No need for that feud to go on into another decade.
@@eagleeyeproductions2317 BS. Liam has praised Noel at every turn for the past 5 years. Before Lockdown Noel was a mess, incoherent and just straight up spiteful towards Liam. He's calmed down a lot since then.
But yeah, unless you want to live your life on social media, there isn't a way to make a viable career if you are starting right now. The infrastructure has fallen apart.
@@JorgeVonninger you're right - it totally has. It's a sad state, especially for those who have the talent that would have been appropriately rewarded and respected 25 years ago.
This man is a living legend. It's far more important to give these remarkable individuals their dues when they are alive, than a big load of bandwagon millennial snowflakes claiming him when he eventually goes!
Envious? No, that’s a deadly sin. However, I am extremely jealous that of all the Irish genes I received, a full head of hair was not one of them. But I thank my ancestry every day that I’m much taller than his 5’9”, haha!
This is how rocker in 60s till 2000s used to be, having a loose mouth and say something interesting. Now 99% of fhem afraid of the judgement of twatter & failbook dwellers .
Music is boring now, I'm constantly looking for new music to listen to but I always go back to what I listen to now because everything else feels generic and soulless
Pas de sous titre possible... Je comprends à peine se que tu dits... Néanmoins, mon groupe préféré de l'époque était Oasis. Je n 'est absolument pas accrocher à Bluuurr.
There are still millions of youngsters who would love to hear rock and roll on the radio. But the record companies have made a corporate decision to deny them the joy we had in our heyday. The state of music today is a disgrace.
the industry has forgotten what pop music is...and have this obsession with rap and hip hop...back in the 1990s there was such a variation of music types in the charts ..it was the last decade to have such a variety of music genres in the charts...
@@jackstraw4222 I thought pop music just simply meant music that was popular in the mainstream and commercial sense. Rock as a genre is now seen as a niche one where New Bands of today couldn't fill up arenas & stadiums by themselves.
We need more record shops etc.kill off the free down load thing and go back to old school albums cds and vinyl. It just worked didnt it .it meant more. It created culture .it helped art and music and al that. It made aload of sods rich tho and they got it all on lock now .new young bands create your own scene. The old rave generation was run by the kids who made the music and it showed. .it feels like they are closing everything down now .rock n roll will never die .but noel is a made man now ..minted .will never have to try again..hes a super star .no one else will.get the chan.when he had it was a different time .its hard to.explain.the music infrastructure ain't there no more .the 90s was just waiting for oasis...after nirvana they filled the void ....Like it was the internet that changed everything for better or worse
It’s looking like it Merc The cynical side of me says it’s being done on purpose - planned out I’m not a tinfoil head but the evidence is pointing towards the lab in Wuhan 🦠
I hate the music scene nowadays. Its like most of the musicians are robots. There is nothing unique or charismatic about the songs or their personality. And even if there is some, it is very minimal
I've gotta admit, Harry Styles' live band covering "Sledgehammer" on Howard Stern is pretty fucking good. Could not give a shit about his own tunes. No thanks.
Bumped into Noel literally in JD sport's Oxford Street about 20 year's, being mixed race bald and in those day's pretty he looked horrified thinking what's this bender looking at, used to get it all the time, Noel mate I'm not, you were safe lol
How is it possible that these amateurs have no sound guy? Is this supposed to be a real radio station? Noel's volume is a lot lower than the other guys (who need to virtually shout apparently)
Noel is a thousand times the interview of his brother or any musician for that matter. He’s also brilliant songwriter. He’s not a good frontman though. He’s adorably bad at being the centerpiece of a stage show
