Seriously though. The kid doesn't look offended. He looks proud that one of his favorite bands noticed him personally, even if it was to pick on him. I'm 14, and my mom has said WAY worse than this to me. And for far less reason than wearing a Blink182 shirt. He's got pretty awesome parents, to bring him to a NOFX show, and heck. He got to be the guest of honor.
Yeah, that was not really bullying. Anybody who has been bullied, which is a lot of people, can recognize that is not bullying, but just good natured ribbing.
The whole point of seeing nofx live is hearing them talk shit to everyone. This kid will never forget this and probably was excited to tell all his friends about it
I've met this kid. He's in a band called FEXET, he's the bassist, he's super cool and has seen the video I feel that that moment may have made him want to play in bands a whole lot more But end of the day, yeah he's a super cool guy and his band kicks ass check them out for use "fexet - way back home"
This is exactly what you should expect from NOFX. If that kid was a fan of NOFX and he wasn't just there because of his parents, then Im sure he had a fucking great night.
He's so counter-culture, so revolutionary, so underground, so anti-mainstream, such a non-conformist, so avant-gardiste, someone who dares break social taboos, a rebel against the system. He is so...JEWISH!
Fat Mike is a jokester. The kid is obviously a NOFX fan, so he obviously knows that. Not to mention the kid was smiling the entire time Mike was talking to him. He obviously is eating that shit up. Not to mention he has an AWESOME story to tell all his friends at school.
But didn't Blink tour with NOFX back in the early 90's when they were teens? NOFX and Pennywise if I'm remembering right. I'm assuming Mike didn't start hating them until after Dude Ranch went on radio.
@@acekiannovelasco6418 Yeah, I always thought his hate on the big pop-punk bands like Blink only hindered himself and the band. He could have embraced them as artists and they would have cited NOFX as a major influence, toured with them, and gain shit ton of fans from the mainstream
Grown men behaving like 11-year old bullies. The "ginger" will grow up hard, shave his red hair, become a skinhead and start listening to real punkmusic. Good for him
This was so much fun. The kid loved it, he was interviewed by the Lowlands Paradise (paper on the festival). He knew he could get flak at a NOFX concert. NOFX bitched at everyone and everything, as usual. If that's something you don't like, don't show up at a NOFX concert.
Say what you want, that kid will have more fans liking this than I will ever have in my life and he knew it. By that smile you can tell he understood that they picked on him to show how far their creation had gone and knew he would forever be a part of it from that night onward.
Some songs they write are immature, but some are incredibly sophisticated. Look at songs like Regaining Unconsciousness, Scavenger Type, or the Irrationality of Rationality. Many more examples along these lines show a diversity in their catalog that few other bands show. And if nothing else, my experiences with Mike tell me that he would indeed say that if the father was within punching distance. He's at least consistent. Hell, he'd probably happily take that punch.
This kid plays in a band called Fexet. I was looking for some new punk rock bands from the Netherlands so I saw Fexet, and I thought to myself: hey that's the kid from the nofx show ^^
Seriously it's just a bit of fun, I have extreme nerves and confidence problems and Fat Mike could say the meanest shit to me and I'd love it, I'm sure that kid feels the same, he's obviously a fan and I'm sure the recognition would of changed his life.
This was actually fuckin hilarious. That kid by the way, was stoked. He saw a band he liked, learned a new word and that there is two types of chilly dogs, found Fat Waldo and most importantly, Blink 182 sucks!
As a parent (not a young parent) I personally couldn't see anything wrong with what they were saying to the kid, he looked happy and that he was having a good time. If I had taken my kid to this and this happened to her and she had a big grin on her face like he did I'd be like hell yeah rock on you noticed my kid. If the kid had got offended then yeah there is a problem but he really didn't look like he did, he was having general banter with him. My partner got called a c**t by the lead singer of a band before and that's just cool. If the parents had a problem with that type of thing then they wouldn't be there with him in the first place. Oh and BLINK 182 are awesome. Still like NOFX though
This is exactly the way i see it. I just discovered NOFX recently and i like their music a lot. But i am a blink-182 fan since a pretty long time & as i watched this video i was like uh why does NOFX talks bad about blink-182? Why can't i just like .. like both bands
Tara Romanes He (Fat mikes) likes to piss people off, to tease them, he knows many people in the audience also listen to Blink I am listening too both Blink 182 and NOFX I do considere my self as a punk but I can imagine why real punk hate Blink they signed with MTV... and but that's my opinion there last album and ep wasn't really good :/
Choke from slapshot actually bullies kids which was disgusting to watch, especially as someone who started going to shows at 11 years old. When I saw 7 seconds in 89 if I was treated like shit for being young I may not have wanted to keep going to shows.
Francisco Morgado Who cares if it's pop-punk or punk-rock, as long as you like it, it's fine. If the kid likes blink 182, then let him. Why bother what he likes or not, as long as you don't have to listen to it, it's fine, isn't it?
Yeah, geez. This kid is horribly offended. Just look at him smiling and laughing and having a good time while a major band talks to him in the middle of their concert. Better pity that one.
If you read this closely, it's just insults with no evidence. Just because he capitalizes his words after every full stop and comma doesn't mean he's any smarter
i was at a nofx show in cleveland, and they did the exact same thing with a man who had his three year old daughter on his shoulders. only he got the name of the first one right- its "snowballing" not "felching".
