I remember hearing this all over London when it first came out. From clubs like Peckham Lazerdrome to just about every pirate station, this was a big tune. What a great time to be young back then.
Wells Shewenchi was brought up on jungle so i got used to chillin out and sometimes Even slept with it Playing If i was tired from dancing all weekend😊
I got this monster when it was released. Everyone caned this and it tore everywhere up...Hard! Speedy for it's time which meant it got played for a long time. And it DID sound like the future!!!! Boy this is too much!
Back to the Future! 2022 2028 2021 2020 1992 1995 2001 2000 1998 Dial Up to DSL to fiber optics to WiFi Floppy to Diskettes then The disc Record to 8 track to CD to MP3 The Future is Now!
Fucking hell, I never knew the name of this and used to listen to it all the time on a Kiss100 show I taped. DJ Hype on a Wednesday night. Seems a lifetime ago now. Fucking well good.
urgh.. trying to get home and deciding who would do the town driving just to get onto the motorway then that was much more straightforward as long as one kept an eye on ones fuel levels as negotiating with motorway cops when exhibiting traces of spangled was not the best way to spend any amount of time, but felt REAL good to negotiate successfully, especially when they'd been watching us skin up on the cctv when we were waiting for fuel to get brought to us sometimes old cops are the best and not near as bad as some might think :) Cos traffic was heavy of course! :/ (the above is of course an excerpt from a work of fiction I'm working on!)
what a fucking anthem!!!!! haven't heard this for tiiiiime - what a trip down memory lane! i remember taping over the tabs on my bel biv devoe cassette single to tape this off don fm!!!
I used to blast this tune out, back in the day (from my world dance album). My neighbours must have hated me. The letter box would rattle, it would be that loud...hahaha
nah bruv, your info is wrong, "i bring you the future" sample is chatta b himself done on an atari computer with akai sampler, i was around when it was built (whoops showing my age) and know the man himself.
You can get it on a triple vinyl compilation by Slammin' Vinyl - Its called 'Absolute classic drum and bass' and is the version with the white and blue cover with picture of a record box on the front (theres three different compilations of the same name) - theres several copys on Discogs fairly cheap (plus its got the decent version of 'Just 4 u London' on it as well! :))
@@timthegallant Yeah they were great - I had 2 of them (bought 1 of them after a rave at Bagleys from a stand outside selling tape packs etc about 20 years ago!) ....Sold my decks and all my vinyl now tho 🙁
@@Shadowbann3d funny enough had the kenny ken/ratpack one on about a week ago.got them along time before all this hardcore and jungle was available on here.mindblowing.
@@Shadowbann3d Ahhh! The days of stumbling outside, trying to adjust your eyes to the bright sunlight while somebody shoves a load of flyers in your hand or wants you to look at their tapes for sale.
It's also on one of the Jungle Tekno series plates (I 'think' 4 or 5 - 'Phat and Phuturistic') - you can pick them up pretty cheap but I reckon they'll explode in price soon.
I used to think he said "I ain't bringing no ginger!" Glad I found this, I only have it on tapes from when I used to record pirate radio stations back in the early 90's.
Sounds a lot cleaner than a lot of these roots raver tings, I remember hearin on a 92 fantasia mix, n every other tune sounded well muffled and paddy. they must have used some crisp kit for this one, and mixed carefully like making nitro-glycerine instead of hash cakes. They both blow you away, but one takes bits of you with it fucks up your wallpaper and carpet, n one takes your mind, spins it round, strokes it gently, and puts it back in your head. STOP ENDING THESE TUNES MAN, ITS SACRILEGE!
I met the guy who (apparently) was the voice of that sample. He was part of 3rd Party. So I guess it isn't from a film... although you would think it would've been
Have a search against 'Noise Factory - Future II (The remix)' - wicked remix and def worth a listen. Sounds even better when pitched up a bit! Now gonna track down a copy! :)
Heard Grooverider play out a really different version of this the other day without the 'I bring you the future' sample, just the 'boy this is too much'... Anyone got any ideas what version it might have been?
@5erpic0 Is that the one where the em see keeps saying "man like LTJ bukem", "fantasia, wheres the noise?" and then some geezers chatting in the background like "we on then?" "whats his name?" "bukem" "ltj bukem?" "yea man like ltj bukem" If so, thats a SICK MIX!
@geebo76 thats real shit, put a bit off tape on ya cassettes. when the radio was bangin, whether it be kool, don, weekend rush, trance fm... that music you bought in a shop didnt mean shit... id pay good money for some don fm tapes with zoukie b right now
LOL. Well lawd knows what I used to mix at on my cheap Memorex LAB302's which, with the mistake of changing a variable resistor 10 times as lower, could do about +\- 40. I listen to some of my old mixes and swear you could mistake them for Gabba...
@geebo76 great comment, I know the feeling panicking trying to find a tape when you know the tune is only on for 2 mins! Ah, the kids don't know they're born these days!
