Notka Makro has come out and said there was an issue with last update. They took 1.06 down off their website. So now I'm waiting patiently for the next upgrade.
I believe you are getting EMI inside that house plus that floor has iron throwing it off too . You should do this outside on a clean spot not near power lines
Yes. I said the same thing. But that doesn't explain how the nox performed. It was hitting targets strongly. But we are definitely gonna do it outside and see if there is any changes. It was raining so we tried it inside. Thanks for the input
OK guys..... Here's my take. This was done inside. I get that. But what caught me off guard was the smoothness of the nox. The crisp signals. And both machines were similarly set up. With that said it's gonna get better. Nox has been out 4 years. Legend only couple months. Hang in there guys.
I bought a legend yesterday. I used it for half a day. Then I installed the 1.07 software today and it's amazing. I dug 7 targets, all of them were accurate according to the display. I can recommend it so far. I had a GTP 1350 (probably not that good) which I liked, but this thing is sick.
Thanks for the test. There is space for improvement on the Legend and Nokta knows this and is working on it. How long is the Nox on the market and how long the Legend? I have a XP Deus l and I have a Legend. Shortly on a Roman field I found a silver Dinar (10 inch down) which was a screaming signal on the Legend but there was no stable signal on the Deus with the X35 coil. For me the ultimate test happens on the field and not on dirt box.
I agree with you 100% this was just something we tried as it was raining outside. And I said the same thing that the legend will be tweaked over the next couple months by Notka. And we will do a lot more testing in the field. I definitely wouldn't base my thoughts and opinions off of one video for sure. Better days are ahead for sure
Hey Guys, You need bigger buckets and check the soil for iron. A search magnet will fish out the iron. Also the Legend coil was not centred. Because you stand behind the target at an angle you were misaligned by 6” sometimes. Look back at the video. But still useful to watch. Would love to see a new vid with bigger buckets and better alignment. 👍
That was the only way he could get any type of signal was on the tip of it. And if there was iron in the bucket the equinox outperformed the legend it was a equal comparison for the condition. It might be different without the emi, ground balance, clean dirt but that would give both a better advantage just saying it is what it was.
Yes. There was an issue with 1.06 when it first came out. I drove myself trying to figure out what was wrong. Long story short. NOKTA canned the 1.06 in like 3 days after the release. Apologized and said there were issues with the download. One being lose of depth. 1.07 came out. And I've been rocking ever since. But with new detectors you have bumps in the roads. Just like cars when a new one comes out. They have issues that need fixed. But Nokta is fast and do an awesome job of making the end user happy. Thanks for watching
I haven't done much controlled testing with my Legend but I don't see any of the issues that you were having. I think when you put it out in the real world, you'll be impressed. I've only hunted a few spots that I have already pounded with my simplex and pulled silver coins relics and a flying eagle cent
Hope you find a flying eagle. I was totally shocked. I just want to reinforce not to get discouraged. I've seen a lot of tests on youtube on the Legend and I know it performs as advertised in the field. My flying eagle had a nail right above it that I dug out first and rescanned my hole. So it pulled the signal through a square nail. Hope the weather cooperates, we are going through the same stuff
@@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli4711 it was probably only 4 or 5 inches. I recorded it when I dug it and the nail. Should have the video out this weekend. I'm glad I live dug it
Since this video. Jordan has now bought the Legend as well. With all the upgrades that has come out for the Legend. It as grown into a very good detector. It is a very smooth detector. Very stable. We just came back from the ocean. Jordan took the 600 along. And could barely swing it due to so much emi. The legend was very stable. My opinion Legend is a much better detector than the 600. Can't say anything about the 800. Never swung it
This video came out when the detector was first released. But as time went by and like 5 or 6 updates they have seriously fine tuned the machine. Matter of fact jordan was hard core minelab. But as he watched each improvement and me digging some awesome finds and deep finds. He now has purchased one and is doing great with it. Thanks for watching.
What Version are you running on the legend? 1.05 or 1.06? I have been running the 6” coil and usually in all metal or ground settings. 6-8 in really trashy areas.
Maybe do a manual ground balance, then do a "tweek" test by making a program that will hit the most, the best, then do a video about the outcome. Please, maybe with the Simplex too.
It does have the 1.06 update. But after the video. I've had a couple people text me a said to try not to run it so hot. So gonna try backing sensitivity back to 24/ 25
I am impressed on how many fake test are present in the net and here there is another one...the buckets are too small...you did the test with the Legend in a very wrong way...do the test in open area, set for the best frequency, use M2, balance the ground...then, the coil was not centered and you used the Park program which is designed for trashy parks but it is limited in deep...do it again using Field, Recovery Speed at 1, Audio Gain at 5...do well this test...if you do a technical test pls do more technical...I am not in favor of the Legend but I am in favor of the engineering....and pls set the same parameters on the Equinox...pls consider that you are comparing 2 Electro Magnetic devices and not a couple of apple pies..
If you would have listened to what we said. The ground was still frozen outside. We wanted to have a little fun with a new detector. But thanks for the advice. Much appreciated
I normally don't react on the hundreds of detector tests and review videos I see on RU-vid. They all get silver and gold on the first hunt. but....... I have the Nokta Makro Legend for 2 weeks now and 5 hours of search time on the counter with it. I first updated to 1.5 and yesterday to 1.6. I have the same results in the parks as in this video: no consistent numbers and no real depth. I (manually, continually and automatically) ground balanced it. I tried several modes, adjusted the reactivity, tones etc. Yesterday, I saw a video from Calabash Digger. When he lifted the NM Legend coil 3 inches from the ground, the consistency regarding tones, depth and target ID got better. I will now sit and wait for maximum one month, hoping for some future software updates from Nokta Makro to fix this issue. I thought I saved some money buying the NM Legend instead of an Equinox 800 with a carbon fiber shaft or an XP deus 2. As the NM Legend doesn't perform good at this moment, I probably could have better bought a single frequency detector for about 300 Euro. Then, I payed less for more :) Sorry for my negative reaction, but I paid € 750 here in the Netherlands (Europe) and was really expecting more from this detector with the initial software. Maybe I was better off buying the NM Legend Pro pack with the extra 6 inch coil in it. Maybe this coil is more consistent.
Yes. I honestly think Notka will tweak the machine until it's right. The simplex was the same way. But in the end they made the simplex a competitive machine. Thanks for the comment
I been watching the vids on legen even watch basher. Vid I think ground blance is off even if you do automatic ground balance. Do manual ground balance to a plus 1 and try ground balance to negative 1 listen to the threshold. Ground balance like old days see if that works.
Ground balance is super tricky on the legend (at least for me), it never seems to work well on the auto setting. Surely one of the things they can work on.
Thanks for the input. We have since came out with quite a few videos of the 1.09 Legend in the field. I myself feel that is the best test. And it has performed great. Feel free to check out some of the newer videos. We try to bring up the vdis and all the sounds of the detector to help with any questions. Good luck detecting. Mike
Not much of a test. If you are going to see which detector goes the deepest crank both of them up to max. sensitivity, and the lowest recovery speed. I didn't see you changing the mode either.
We only did multi 1. But off camera when I got frustrated. Yes we changed a lot of things including sensitivity and recovery speeds. My Legend struggled bad. But there will be good test coming outside. It was raining and we tried this one here. But thanks for the insight
@@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli4711 I would note just because settings are "similar" in number doesn't mean the scale is the same, so a 2 out of 3 recovery on the nox might be the same as a 5 out of 8 for the legend, or might be very different. You should find the settings on each detector that work the best in a particular soil/area, irrespective of what the other detector is set at, and then compare them.
She's always watching. What makes Nokta top notched. They are always improving. Since the 1.06 which they scraped. I downloaded 1.07 the Legend is performing like a champ.
Like I said I have both detectors and I have sites that I have beat down with the Nox 800 with a 6 inch coil 11 inch coil and the 15 inch coil and I am finding things that the equinox did not pick up with the legend.
@@chriscarroll4781 just hang in there. The nox has been on the market for 3 years. They have done multiple uploads to tweak the detector. Notka will do the same. It will get better.
FYI, the NM Legend 1.0.6. update is removed from the official NM website. Some users suffered depth and consistency issues after updating to this version. I'll hope NM will fix this.
This was when the Legend first came out. Now we both own the Legend. He has put his 600 in the closet. We are both loving the legend and doing very well with them
just a heads up I run recovery speed 3 to 5 I will admit if I run it at 10 I lose a lot of depth. I can't tell you much about the park mode. I only beach hunt. These old legs cant get up and down 300 times on the ground. but I can go for 4 hours to the beach if it's not too hot. Just trying to help your dad. I have no issue with minelab 800. except at the beach, it leaks don't believe me look at the youtube videos from Virginia to Florida.
We know the issues with the equinox. We have had 2 that leaked. His detector is now just a land only detector being its out of warranty. And yes we tried different recovery speeds as well. I tried a lot of things off the camera. Because I was so disappointed and shocked on how it was performing. Bit with the 1.07 I see a big difference and the detector will only get better
@@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli4711 don't be disappointed this machine is a beast . I did lose a bit of depth with the last update. But I will update to 1.07 soon. I am using a 10 kt girls high school ring . For testing. I can turn the sensitivity down to one and pick up that ring at 4 inches. This is in beach mode only.
We would've. But it was raining. But still doesn't explain the smoothness of one detector compared to a choppy no signal of another set up almost identical. That is my issue. If the nox was the same way I'd say even. But it was smooth and strong signal
Rotf. Im not gonna argue. But let's see you get that good ole Nox in the water. Them leaking pieces of crap. I know one guy that has had his back so many times, the dealer probably has given the machine it's own personal name. My pro is 14 years old. Seen many trips to the water and still going strong. Might not be multi frequency but still does a great job. Before you bash know both machines. Have a great day.
First of all these are two machines and you can't put sensitive both at 4 or what every they are different machines and should be sat at there own sitting. As for as the gold ring goes my Legend will pick up 8 inches easy and beach mold
Maybe 4 years ago I'd agree with that statement. But now they'd be lucky to make the top 3. Just our opinion have a great day. Keep the coil to the soil
This machine is great and if you learn it you will see .you need to wakeup its like comparing penicillin to cold pill then saying they are not the same. I have to take two cold pills but only one of the other. I have been detecting since 1974. You have a lot to learn
If you would have read the pinned comment instead of getting your panties in a knot. You would have seen I was having issues with the upgrade. But thanks for your expertise advice.
There really isn't a lot on the machine that helps with" depth" all things were utilized on and off camera. The machine did not perform period! But since then I did the upgrade and it is performing much better. But per Dilek herself there were issues with depth going on. That was the reason for pulling the 1.06 down off their website
No. Come to find out. The 1.06 upgrade was bad. They came out the next day and fixed it with upgrade 1.07. But I am slamming targets now. Love the machine.
Been looking at these Makros for awhile,,so gave the nail loving simplex a shot, good performer on good targets too. My Eurotek pro with Mars Tiger coil seems better in iron though, finds the coins a bit quicker on the deeper ones better so far. Next machine probably be T2 though, simply because I like to know what my target "kinda is" dig and move on without surveying it for minutes on in and guessing,,call me impatient, lol. Great video guys.
One thing I can say about Notka. They are user friendly. They go above and beyond to put out a good product. I have faith They will figure out the bugs and all will be good. Thanks for watching and the comment
I also have the Eurotek Pro and you are right about it being very fast and deep....It also has excellent discrimination....Those machines are very under-rated...
@@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli4711 all I'm saying is, there's something wrong with your setting on the Legend or you just don't know what your doing, because I have the Legend myself and it goes deeper than yours...and everyone else who owns one will confirm, Just saying.
