These single target tests are great, but what is just as important to me, if not more so, is how well I can pick out the sound of a good target in a field full of other targets. In real life, that is what matters. Seldom are you detecting nice, clean, quiet earth when you suddenly happen to hear a nice clear beep interupting the silence. More often, it is "squeek, squack, beep, blip, scratch, bing and squeek". Which one was the coin?
I didn't really see that much of an advantage for the D2. Especially at twice the price ! The D2 gold mode was the only difference. But you didn't put the Legend in gold mode to compare.
Love the test and the channel. I own the deus 1, deus 2 and the Equinox. I pretty much don’t use any other detectors than the D2 now, i’m in love with it. I’ve pulled out so much stuff in areas I have scrutinized deeply with the other instruments. Fast and reliable. I keep the control box in my belt bag because I never look at the screen. First roll of metal detecting, if you get a two-way repeatable nonferrous signal, let your shovel do the discrimination. Yesterday I left the control box in the truck and I went with just the headphones. I just need to get used to the menu system. That note does look like a great instrument as well. Technology is a hell of a thing! I hate that you had to use so much good metal detecting time to do that test but I’m glad you did. Great video!
Hello my friend. I have a question Did you not have a decrease in depth or quality when you used the headphones instead of the main part? Was everything good?
Great depth test, i think the winner is the Deus2, but the legend is a very good detector for that price, the build quality, and performance and of course the price, is much lower than the other two detectors. Great video🙂👍
Still watching so it might happen but for your last test you should wet the soil and see what differences from dry soil they have, especially in depth.
Interesting for sure. I know it's always a subjective test. I personally think the deus is great, the minelab while questionable on build quality, is an amazing machine. All that said. I now have a simplex (coming from a Deus) and it's amazing for its price range, and that Nokta legend is a massive step ahead, and the thing to take away, is the fact that the legend is soo much cheaper.
It will be interesting to see the machines again in 6 months or so when they are all as near perfect in terms of software updates, with the legend being a few months behind deus as to when it went to market.
Love the test buddy all good detectors there. Interesting that chap did well with his Bulgarian detector I have a Turkish via gold detector and Bulgarian Nexus both with 6 inch coils that can hit silver and gold at that depth and my via gold can even tell me the metal which is a total bonus. It cost me 800 posted to UK and it is color LCD hope I can show you guys at some point it's so powerful. Kinda like the Aka Signum in power but it can beat the signum with the same sized coils. So it's worth looking sometimes outside of the mainstream advertising of detectors and look further afield to get something special. :) Happy hunting guys awesome video
Hello Sid, very nice depth competition between top machines. I love very deep targets tests: did more similar tests with D2, program 6 but different coin, 50 euro cent, 24mm diameter copper coin. D2 could detect it in the bottom of a 20 inch hole. Bye for now Sid!
Thank you for an un-biased test. This test tells me that all of the involved detectors are a great machine. Based on bang for the buck, I would have to vote in the Legend. A very comparable machine. I was impressed by all of the detectors shown. Thanks again..
Good to see the legend holding its own with the nox on this test. That was Nokta’s aim. It’s far better built and a fair bit cheaper. The deus should be better for the price you pay. Good video Sid.
@@SandBoy408 that was only in park mode which isn't deepest mode ...plus all deep targets coming in quiet at 11 is worth a look as these are often good targets deep....whilst a loud positive 11 will be Coke more than likely
@@detecting-guru9955 Think there are some problems with iron. I thought they implemented a sort of iron bias, but there is only a "ferrometer" that shows you the amount of iron. But multifrequency, for nature, avoids loss of signal in relation with the depth. So, on Minelab multifrequency machine (bbs, fbs, multiiq) you will never see negative numbers on deep non ferrous target (except negative number of mineralisation). The Simplex+ hits iron on non ferrous targets too. I´ve seen with my eyes.
Great test Sid, but I would never have got that coin with any of those machines, as I wouldn't be running them that open. But really appreciate you showing us the capabilities of each machine. Thanks.
Nice video, I'm still undecided and leaning towards the Deus 2 lite to keep the cost down, would like to hear how the Rutus Versa would compare, hearing good things about it but so little info available it feels like a gamble.
Nice test Sid..I’ve just got a deus 2 this week. Not been out yet. Still working out what’s going on in that box. And syncing it to my Brain.,Not too hard there plenty of room in there to store some more info..I’ve come over from the Nox so it’s a little bit different. But not too bad..but I must say my Nox does get em out deep.. Great vids mate..nice n truthful no bull. Regards Jim
Phew, glad you spotted the chap with the older machine that made out it could hit that deep 17-18 inch target that was Falsing on the ground or everyone would have been off the the shops to buy one 🤣🤣 Sid’s response No, moving on 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
I know this is an old video but how does the newer firmware updates compare to this depth test for the legend as I am on 1.15 and struggle to hit a target below 6 inches in any mode including Dt or beast mode
Do any of those (3) three metal detectors provide the freq./kHz that is being scanned? And, in 'simultaneous'? Likewise, the freq./kHz that is indicated on the pinpointed mode? My research reveals that the White's Spectra V3i is the only metal detector that does. White's has normalized their VDI (Visual Discrimination Indication numbers) Without providing the information what freq./kHz the multifrequency is together with the VDI not being normalized as with White's it will leave the operator only to guess what the freq./kHz is and the target and the operator only to 'guess'? ? ? And the operator will state it is 'chatty' or it is 'inconsistent'? ? ? Any metal detector that does not provide the freq./kHz in multifrequency absolutely has to be chatty? ? ?
Legend is defo better than nox just in terms of overall stability and it's better built and more user friendly.just as deep and just as fast.. the deus 2 is just better audio options really for extra £730
@@christianh7863 I have a Nox & The Legend The reason I bought the Legend I had so many issues with my Nox Leakage and coil issues obviously. I have no update issues With my Legend Right out of the Box I found a early 1800 Seated coin on a previous permission I pounded relentlessly with the Nox The crazy part is the legend is just starting their software updates a lot of exciting stuff! Good day mate keep digging
Hey, Sid. Been looking at getting The Legend and there has been some hype that Gold is coming up at 10 or 11 and being discriminated out by some pre-sets. So a request if I may. Next time you do a test on the Legend can you go over some gold (you must have loads lying around :)) and see where it coms in at and if these rumours are true. Keep up the great work and looking forward to your next video. The hand made collectors box is something else - wow! Cheers pal.
I’ve hunted with the equinox for hundreds of hours and the deus1 for hundreds of hours also. We mostly do relic hunting and iron loaded home sites from the 17 and 1800s. Where are the XP deus shines is in the iron! The XP deus 2 is on another level in this situation. There are a lot of coins and old buttons being missed in the iron by the legend, simplex and even the equinox. However they are great machines for the cost until someone can afford to get the best. nice video👌🏼
I was wondering why u never tried the legend in gold mode...it's crazy deep in that mode ..the legend is standing up to all the competition I do know that 👍🏻iv used it quite a bit now and it's very very good and built like a tank 💪🏻
@@ArTeCh777 compared to older detectors (except XP's) it's not that heavy. I'm swinging both machines (deus II & legend) and I don't find it's too heavy at all
@@mimimi_everywhere it’s heavier than nokta makro , and nokta makro it is heavy for me in long usage, tank vs light compact MF Deus 2? No comparison for me, worth twice price
Cheers Sid great video as always and just what i was looking for. I almost bought the Deus 2 few weeks ago but held off as wanted to see some decent comparison videos with the Legend. I've already got the Orx and Simplex so been wondering which route to upgrade and even though it looks like Deus is best its twice the price but doesnt look like twice the performance of the Legend. Also to be honest i really was hoping the Legend wouldnt pick up that at 18" as i really dont want to be digging that deep all day 😄 Will be ordering the Legend as soon as in stock hopefully this week. Thanks again.
Hi mate I have the orx ,and had the simplex ,but sold it to buy the legend ,I have a Roman villa site I have hammered to death with the orx ,to a point it sadly dried up ,due to farmer direct drilling ,took my legend on it last week had 8 Roman coins in 2.5 hours 👍hope this helps
awesome comparisons, silly question was that a custom goldfield program or stock on the d2 ? very surprised relic didn't do better. keep the good work up
To be honest i very rarely do beaches so probs not the best person to ask, but from what ive been seeing you cant go wrong with either equinox 800, legend or deus 2
this is me. the machine is made in Bulgaria in a garage. make them my best friend. he didn't do much. only 5 machines are and 3 are mine. now he makes me one at 14kh will be here next month
I've watched this a few times now and at 17" if you take out the settings that chirp all over the place. And if you are just using field mode not relic etc ... The only one I'd have dug was the Legend .. . I think I'd walk over it with D2 unless in relic gold...and I'd walk over it with nox
just came to me (fodds) gold mode is crazy good. ever tried the gold mode on the nox ?? I've never tried it on mine, got any program settings for it sid ?
I metal detect on beaches, and in the sea, I have the nox currently but thinking of moving to the D2 to combine scuba diving and detecting. which do you think its the best one for this? Ive been trying the Nokta Pulse DIve as im in the sea most of the time, found 3 gold rings in 3 days recently.
@@englandshistory around 5-10 metres but maybe deeper in future , maybe best keep the nox for the and add the Deus 2 and have 2 detectors not sure ..... I saw a detectororist on the beach with a Deus 2 and approached him to have a chat, he let me try it out and it's so much lighter !!
At a guess, how do you think the Quest Q60 would perform alongside these three machines? I am impressed with the Q30+ atm, fast and pretty deep too. Thanks for this video! Very useful and interesting.
Is Deus 2 really top top machine or what more i will get from those machines which cost 2000-5000 euroes. I understand that Minelab 7000 will give much greater gold searching capabilities but for everything else is Deus 2 nearly top of top what comes to capability to detect any metal. How much better Deus 2 is compared to 300 euro Bounty hunter quick draw pro? I am mainly getting metal with its 7kherz radar.
I suspect the Deus II may be using pulse induction in relic/gold modes, LOL. Kind of has a PI style set up to it's coil so maybe that's their secret. Good idea to have dual VLF and PI capabilities in a unit for different situations.
After watching this I'd say the the Deus 2 is never £600 more better than the legend I know the Deus was hitting the the target a bit better at the end but that to me has shown the legend to be holding its own with a machine that cost twice as much. And dosnt the deeper modes on the dues drain the battery out more on the Deus 2 so Less digging time than the legend if used in the deeps modes. Great Vid Sid 👍
A find of a lifetime could be hiding in those iron patches where old home sites or structures have deteriorated over the last several hundred years. The XP deus blows all other detectors away in this category. It’s also lighter, very quiet on the salt beaches, completely waterproof proof up to 60 Ft, all of that is worth paying twice the price for me.
@@paulblanton1793 you still got to walk over it to find it and the Deus isn't that far better than the legend or Nox yes it's lighter and as from waterproof you still got have the arena thing for it to work under water fair anough if you use a Deus 2 under water it maybe worth you spending that much money. But let's be honest most people who buy the Deus 2 or any water proof detector will never get the coil wet never mind go diving with it basic fact is the Deus 2 isn't that much better than the legend or Nox and for the price of the dues 2 you can buy a legend and a Nox 600 the Nox is a excellent machine in the beach the legend is to and going to be even better with a new update that's coming out for it so how can you say it's worth paying the extra for basically a detector that is lighter that's not worth paying £600 more to me
Hi Sid, Maybe the Nox could do with an update too? The EMI could be smoothed without affecting recovery for a start. But the Nox shines in other areas and most finds are in the top 8 inches in ploughed. But digging deep takes time. Also is the D2 reacting to disturbed soil. You need to dig a few empty holes and refill to test this.
try park2 and Equinox will win, I write from Italy and I use park2 it is the deepest even on mineralized soils, you in the UK have little or no mineralized soils and use field, you should use park .
When I shared the video, some are asking why the Nox and Legend were not also tested in Gold mode? To me, I haven’t found gold mode to be deeper on the Nox at least, and figured that to be why.
What version were you running in 1.05 or 1.06 ? Haven't been out yet since installing 1.06 but seen comments saying 1.05 seemed better (if not on beach)
@@englandshistory personally I think prog 2 sensitive is the goto hammered programme for us in the uk matey . Yes it’s programmed to use the higher range of frequencies so maybe a little depth would be compromised, but maybe reducing reactivity to 2 may overcome this . We’ll see 👍🏻
As a nox user I can honestly say depth tests are a waste of time, it's not genuine detecting conditions or even how you would detect in a field, I have seen blistool out deep a deus and a ctx on a depth test but you won't be running out going to get one, as for the tech, the minelab is multi frequency and I'm telling you there are no dodgy signals on the nox but there will be on the deus, I guarantee people will be digging deep iron thinking it's a good signal, I know serious nox users who have sold there deus there all good machines but In the field when you have no idea where the targets are you'll See the nox out perform both
What i got from this test is: all machines performed virtually the same on all tests…. Deus ii had a bit more depth but only when using gold/relic mode… which wouldn’t of got you the target really in real conditions as it was mainly a 00 tid.. which you get with nearly every swing in those modes
