Outstanding! Thank you so much for gifting your time to create such a splendid and informative treatise. Dug my first hole today. A pocket spill. Took me an hour. 18 clad dimes and 9 clad pennies. Felt like a kid again! 😉
Thank you for the best run down I have come across! I recently purchased the March Mystery Box deal from Kellyco and received the exact Simplex+ detector and pulsedive pointer package you mentioned, among other things! I couldn't be happier with it!
Hello from Oz, I've been using the simplex on Australian beaches for a year now with great success and still love this machine. Have picked up a couple of new tips from this vid cheers. Great video, very informative 👍
Just got my simplex from kellyco...Thanks for taking the time to make this video..lots of good information on the settings..I stumbled upon an old foundation in the woods near me..Found some old glass shards..1890s to early 20s..poked around a bit with a screwdriver..Found a few clay marbles..after scrapping back more dirt I found a Flying eagle penny.Close to surface..Now wanting to get back out n see what else iscwaiting..Cheers
Thank You. I acquired a new to me, gently used Simplex + back in late September, early October of 2022. I’m still learning it and may need to update the Rev. This helped me understand it better, right away. I appreciate your clear explanation. Cheers 🍻 Dave in PA, USA.
Great video and well informative i had a fisher 1236x i used a couple of times years ago but santa bought me a Simplex so i am new to this so your explination will help my set up Thanks
Glad it was helpful. I have a few field videos coming up, so please keep an eye out on my channel. I am learning new things to share with you all the time. ATB MMMD
Thank you for the video. Very informative. I just got the Simplex+ for Christmas, but before I take it out on the field, I figured I get instructions from RU-vid University. I live in Miami, Florida, so I'll be hitting the beach in search of treasure (mainly lost jewelry). Will be looking for more of your videos. Be well mate. - Louis
Hi Louis. The University of You Tube, I like that. If you want to see some good videos of the Simplex on the beach, may I suggest "South Coast Detecting" he's done a few and I think he really rates it buddy, could be useful. ATB MMMD
Bloody brilliant. I have been out 2 or 3 times with the simplex and the interference from the pointer was driving me mad.. A mute button .. who knew!!? . That was a superb tutorial mate, thank you...
My pleasure Ian. Just remember to switch the coil back on before you start swinging again ! I forgot a few times, but you soon start doing it automatically after a few hours buddy. ATB MMMD
Just got one of these detectors, look cool, thanks for the Video helped me out with the settings. I did see a video with 5 Freq Shift on the machine , think that was on a older Version of the software, did Makro remove 2 Freq Shift settings.?
Hi Bob, glad you enjoyed the video. I know nothing about the MX7 but the Simplex has good depth, good recovery speed, and the design id very light and modern. The wireless headphones are very good. It ticks a lot of boxes for the price buddy. ATB MMMD
Hi max. Good vid couple of things to point out. 2.78 isn’t an upgrade it was made for people who couldn’t get on with the Jumpy IDs at depth on 2.77 and they preferred 2.68. So 2.78 has the same depth and modes as 2.77 but the ID depth is less. Park1 and park 2 are totally different not just the speed but the break in tone is upped on P2 to help those park hunters ID those caps.
Hi Chris. The video is primarily aimed at people who don't have a Simplex but want to see what you get. I have referred to all the various changes as the latest upgrade purely for simplicity to help newcomers. If you buy a new Simplex, the insert note refers to all the modifications under the heading V2.78, so it also aligns well with the manufacturers notes to the customer. I didn't speak more on the tone breaks in P2 as this video is not intended to look at technical differences, but merely introduce people to what you get with the latest version of the Simplex. Hope that clarifies. ATB MMMD
@@searchingshropshire Correct, however, if you only watched the original videos, you may not be aware that the machine has been improved, so it's important to reference this in the video for people who may wish to re-consider the Simplex. ATB MMMD
Hi Max , nice one mate i dont use one myself but my mate does i will let him know about the video and tell him to give it a watch , anyway take care my friend ATB Rob . 👍
@@MudMaxMetalDetecting great vid M8 had mine a Yr been updated Got some nice stuff But not worked my way around it yet Use my 400ii a lot aswell Dep on Where I'm going Gl n hh 👍👍 Ps can you tell me if My garret zlink phones Compatabel with plex And would you recomend the new Aftermarket coil?
Great video, you’ve missed one function regarding screen brightness, the top row of blocks controls constant brightness which you covered but the lower A1-A4 blocks controls brightness that only illuminates when a target is acquired.
Excellent tutorial sir. You explained everything in an easy and concise manner. I just purchased the Simplex and I’ll probably refer to your video. Top man!
Hi Joe. It can vary buddy. Often numbers can skip from high to low on bigger iron, but like other detectors the Simplex can struggle on deeper targets and round shaped iron. I would start off by digging anything with high tones, you will dig a lot of scrap at first but you will learn the machine that way. ATB MMMD
Hi my friend from Greek island Cyprus EU.Thanks for your video.great jop.I have the safari and the siblex.soo i notice that with siblex when in any modes except the all metal mode i notice that...when the maching detects a ferous or not good meterial the nrs jumbing ro much is not stable...This is amazing thing.what are you say about that???i am correct? Best regards.
I'm considering this one, Minerals Vanquish 440, and the Garrett Ace 300. The 300 is cheapest out if the 3, but the Simplex and Vanquish seem to be favored, with the Vanquish at the highest cost.
I think the prices reflect the machines, all good but Simplex probably gives you a bit more than a 300 and the Vanquish has the multi frequency tech. ATB MMMD
Hi Max, nice vid, thanks. I don’t think that ver 2.78 is an upgrade in the true fashion of an upgrade. It was released, if memory serves, for those people who were struggling with vdi numbers on 2.77, it stabilised them I think. Nokta released a vid to explain it all.
Well I guess anything that improves a machine is an upgrade mate, I think each software version is intended to upgrade the machine bud. Glad you enjoyed the video. ATB MMMD
is there anything that you can tell me about the wireless green headphones mine are very quite i have turned volume up to the highest setting but there very quite with the wired headphones there loud any ideas thank you
Not to nit pick the video but you forget to mention the automatic backlight feature. In the “A “ settings , the backlight will automatically turn on when a target is detected or a button is pressed and will automatically shut off after a few seconds if no targets are detected or buttons pressed. Also a factory reset if coils are changing or you have forgotten your custom settings . With power off , slow press the power button until the logo ( Simplex ) screen appears and press the settings button and the pinpoint/notch button at the same time and hold until the machine emits three beeps. The machine has now been reset to factory default.
Very different machines. Both good. Goldenmask is simple and listen to tones. Simplex is much more modern design with screen, waterproof, wireless headphones. I love simplicity of the Goldenmask, but the Simplex gives you more features. Hope that helps. ATB MMMD
HI I know this is a stupid question and at present I work nights and sleep during the day so don't get alot of time to read the manuals etc but on the screen of the detector you have to 2 boxes left and right then in between them you have two dash/ lines which then have numbers that change what do these numbers mean?
Hi Simon. The numbers appear when you go over a target. They are a visual indicator of the level of conductivity for different metals. Low conductors = lower numbers, and High conductors = higher numbers. They are a guide, but size and depth of target can also affect conductivity levels, so they're not always spot on, but they can help. ATB MMMD
@@MudMaxMetalDetecting Thanks for that, nothing worse than being a novice and getting the time to read a manual, one further question if you don't mind. I went out into my garden this afternoon and placed a 10p piece on the grass although the detector picked it up from about 3-4 inches above the coin I proceeded to raise the detector up but the detector couldn't pick the coin up once the detector had been moved away from the original 4-5 inches if that makes sense. how deep can the detector find something? thanks.
@@simonsmith3782 10p coins maybe not the best choice buddy. Made of junk metals so the machine may cancel them out. Try some copper and silver or brass if you can, and gold !
I’ve been trying to decide between the simplex and the vanquish 540. At first I wanted the simplex for the features, style, water proof, and I found an amazing deal. But then I watched comparison videos and it looked like the vanquish was much more accurate and had way better tones. The 540 could read deeper in mineralized dirt and could separate targets quicker snd more accurately. With this update now I’m starting to rethink. Specially because the comparison videos the vanquish was using a smaller coil which is probably why it responded quicker. I’m not sure though because I’m new and have never even used one. Which is another reason a sales rep said the vanquish would be better for me, that and being by the beach. Someone help me decide lol!! Maybe I’ll just get into magnet fishing…lol
They are both good machines Michael. As I understand it, the multi IQ in the Vanquish has the edge on beaches. Tones are personal, some like one sound and others another. The trouble is you have to buy a machine to really know if you like the tones. I have never used a Vanquish so I can't give you a comparison. I detect on farmland, and all I can say is the Simplex does a good job and I really enjoy using it, and the design is excellent. There's a channel called South Coast Detecting, he's used both machines on beaches so he may be able to help you more than I can. ATB MMMD
Hi if you want the price from the UK supplier, please send a message to "Metal Detectors Online" you can find them on Google or in links on the videos. I do not know prices in different countries. ATB MMMD.
I could use some help with detecting on black sand beaches my simplex constantly beeps going over it. my garret ace 300i is fine with it but not waterproof
Ah...that's a question for "South Coast Detecting" He has had many trips to the beach with a Simplex. He's on You Tube and also has a Facebook group. Hope that's helpful. ATB MMMD
Hi Max just a wee shout good video I have used one of these before so a handy how to video and just to say hope you are doing well and had a good start to 2021 happy new year here's hoping it will be much better for us all stay safe catch up with you on my new videos been out digging golden treasures on my latest adventures also have some bizarre sightings to share plus tech vids in the last year ,give me a shout on my latest videos let me know how you are doing there's a giveaway on my pre Christmas video as well..cheers Bigfootdigger 👍👍👍👍👍
The sounds that the simplex makes is the one thing I don't like..it sounds bad..and if not set up very specifically for certain targets , will be a very noisy machine...having said that it is my first detector and I love it...ergonomics is absolutely perfect ...portability is perfect, features..perfect...I wish the Vanquish looked and felt like the simplex...also the rechargeable battery is an absolutely fabulous feature...the Vanquish seems lighter in my hands but also feels cheaper where the Simplex feels very solid and balanced...I live both machines if one judges by looks alone( being the first thing you notice) the Simplex is hands down the winner...I have heard that beach hunting is real good with the Vanquish but The Simplex when set up right is just as good..
@@MudMaxMetalDetecting its all good I was not blaming you for your video what I was trying to say was all the video I have seen no one have ever show a video as where some one have find a gold nugget its all about how to used it
@@michaellawrence4371 No worries buddy. I wouldn't say this machine was really a good one for gold nuggets, but a good general purpose machine at a good price.
