I know I bought mine from all the hype about it and all the reviews I've watched regarding it. I hope they make it a better machine than what they intended it to be, it sure has all the bells and whistles. And a shout out to Ryan, that's where I got mine
Hey CBD, those depths are not so deep they should give an iron tone. As you know, almost every detector can do this at times, but usually at max depth, like 14” because it just can’t get a solid hit, but at those depths, no reason for it.
That's good info to have about the 3 score, was wondering why it seemed to be running rougher than the Elite had been in same beach conditions. The update will be something to look forward to! I have to say Nokta customer service/ issue addressing is one of the best I've encountered.
It's not just in beach mode it's having a problem. I've noticed it in park mode in the soil. It's not as extreme as your salt test. Mostly happens on lower conductors in 4+ inch range. I'll get a mix of good times with iron tones. Pull tabs, nickels, and such are all sounding like falsiing iron tones for me. I'm just using the small coil mostly in multi 2.
Hey, Calabash! Loved your video showing the Manticore with the M9 coil earlier, yesterday. Amazing results on the beach! Funnily enough, I started my metal detecting journey in Sunset Beach NC a couple years ago. Found your channel and have been watching for a minute. Super appreciate all your insight and the work you do for the metal detecting community! Also, I apologize if I'm slow on the uptake, but what is the saying of "7-8-9" referring to? Is that referring to depth?
On Deus 2, if using a program like Fast which uses 40kHz, and you get a 7, 8 or 9, switch to DHC (14khz) and start rotating. If the VDI doesn’t jump to a good number, I’d keep on walking. Calabash, did you test this yet? This is the same principle you showed on the beach, over a year ago, to distinguish a high conductor target from a low conductor target. I also use this on the beach to sniff out falsing bottle caps (with iron in them) and tent pegs. These bottle caps (NOT aluminum ones) fall into two VDI ranges, but if I flip to DHC the VDI will change by around 10 (screaming IRON). I still use the older .71 update
Just bought the triple from Ryan and should get it this week. I mainly hunt rivers and have the garret at pro, but I am wondering if i should return the triple score and get the elite, but my main concern is durability under water and banging off rock any thought's would be appreciated. thank you for calling balls balls and strikes strikes
They assure me it will be fixed..I cant speak to the durability of either machine yet. They both have 3 year warranties. I am gonna do some land performance test again this week.
The D2 is still the better unmasker at the end of the day for me. Simply because u cant trust the vdi on any machine in heavy iron. IF it gives u the audio like D2 u still have a chance. Ill take it.
