It might be possible to train them all to make the most of their upbringing to be like Nolan. But it'll never be possible to get everyone that way. Things go wrong in life, that's just how it is. We have genetic problems, injuries, illnesses...an endless list of things throughout life that subtly changes us from top to bottom, inside and out...including the "personality" our brain generates by its operations. Except...that's not grey. It's still black and white. What's "grey" are the unknown variables. But they're still explicit...you just don't necessarily know what they are. He even stated that, if he had that information, he'd have been able to choose from B or C instead. It was still an absolute choice. The problem was that he didn't know all the variables, not that they were unknowable, nonexistent, or irrelevant. Everything in the universe very much is strictly binary. Your answer is flawed for one simple reason what if the alleged assailant had a fake tattoo and is able to remove it with water or some other substance before the interview, then they walk right out the front door. You might say that chances of that actually happening are slim to none which I am inclined to agree with but in the scenario given anything is possible. Furthermore, best practice would be to ID everyone and conduct interview before they leave then follow up as needed.
@@justinevans3822 I think they said scar but if it was a fake tattoo then interview everyone that had something on their right arm or anyone that remembers anything unusual like someone changing clothes, wearing a coat in summer, washing a tattoo in a sink, wearing a big bandage, carrying a sack with a big dollar sign on the side. If you ID everyone, memories fade or change while people wait and talk to each other.

The real answer to the question was none of the options nor no answer, it was to explain the answers. Yes in real life as a cop he would have to do one of these 3 things if presented, but in reality he could explore other answers as well. The point of her test wasnt to get an answer it was for him to explain his reasoning. Am I the only one who thought the answer was obvious? Question all the men with scars on their right arms. It was the more reliable piece of information and is likely a much narrower group of men than all the black men Sure it wasn't one of her options but it's clearly the right way to go about it
A person reports that they were robbed at a club. They say that the person, a male, had a scar on their right arm. They say that the person might have been black. You only have a few hours to find the thief. Who do you interview? A) all of the black men B) all of the men C) everyone at the club

Witness reports are notoriously unreliable, details shift within hours. Surely C is the correct answer, to check all people in the club and see if any other witnesses corroborate the first report.
The correct answer to the trap question from the teacher, that isn't offensive.(hopefully) = Ask all the single straight women. Because they are the ones who have been watching the other men inside the building and can identify a possible suspect that matches that description quickly.
