Nolan was understandably nervous with Grey in the shop for this patrol. But the pair proved to be a great team when they rescue a family after a main gas line explosion.
From Season 1 Episode 10 "Flesh and Blood": Nolan's son, Henry, comes to visit his dad in L.A, and ends up doing an internship at the department with Grey's daughter Dominique. At the morning meeting, Andersen announces that she will be riding along with Lucy, while Grey partners up with Nolan, and Bradford with Bishop.

Truth is what we see nolan doing. All the heroics.first we gotta understand its a show and if they showed Nolan just giving speeding tickets their would be no show. But at the same time if he's getting all the action they have to keep it real and not make him be some kind of super star cop who rises up the ranks too fast. Besides whenever we do see a police officer IRL doing something heroic at most they get a medal I highly doubt a promotion comes often with it.

Not very realistic and they are expensive to buy, plus there is not a lot of times they are used

Not every department has the budget they need to afford all the best equipment. Gas masks are usually tied to riot situations not standard patrols

@@tayferriera9164 That was nothing but a rumour. Fillion has worked on a LOT of shows and anyone who has worked with him or met him including fans say he's nothing but kind and pleasant. Don't believe just anything without proof.

Don't try this at home. In the case of a fire, a cloth mask will filter out the particulates from the air, but in the case of a gas leak, the gas has displaced the usable oxygen. It does make for a good dramatic and there is no way to watch and enjoy any show if you don't suspend disbelief.

@@VuNguyen-yc8ej I wouldn't waste time with the mask. As I go through the house I would open windows and stick my head outside to get fresh air. I also don't understand why the house has a high concentration of gas when the rupture is on the street outside. Finally the bigger concern is an explosion.

Hear of something called CO in case of a fire you will die because of it not because of other particles

@@sevonty3398 In this case there is no combustion taking place so CO2 is not being created. In the event of fire you usually hear of people hospitalized due to smoke inhalation. Of course in the case of fire, burning is the top danger. CO2 is heavier than normal air but there is oxygenated air about a foot above the floor.

I didn't like Grey in the pilot but he has really grown on me. His humor is so dry and I need more Grey & Nolan scenes. Can't wait to see the season premiere when Grey sticks up for Nolan.

In the real world, gas is invisible and would also still be burning. It is also odourless until they add a chemical to make it detectable.

I do see ur point but The Rookie i take for a serious/funny show but if u add Lucifer it will just be immature stuff and NCIS is the investigate a dead body find the killer arrest/kill the killer and done this is more Crime serious and a little fun every now and then.
