I got goosebumps all over and tears in my eyes listening to this performance. Def my Favourite of all the duets. Am delighted Nollaig got through, Alan was class too though.
Nollaig, what a stunning voice. Loved the softer side of her vocals but im amazed at the power in her voice as its hard to come by in voices like hers.
Why does KT insist on holding up the arm of the winner every time? It is clear that no-body is comfortable with it, and this is not the National Boxing Stadium. Baffles me.
The duets are actually termed the "battle rounds," and in other versions the emphasis on battle is more pronounced. Raising the hand of the winner also gets everyone used to raising the hand, so they can do that with the final winner. They would want to raise the hand of the final winner to get an image of the winner matching the logo - a fist raised, wrapped around a mic, with two fingers raised (in victory).
@CupidStuntt I think it was fitting for the mood of the song. Her voice is fantastic! This is one of my favourite songs, and I thought she performed it delicately which I think the lyrics call for.
@llkenny100 People can be very cruel to the contestants and some things people say under the videos are just uncalled for and thats my opinion, I no what it feels like :) So I just wanna say BIG WELL DONE to Nollaig and Alan Your both Amazing GO TEAM SHARON :)
@tadhgie16 Hi there, this person you are dealing with here has only set up the page to write nasty comments about people, the page was set up tonight, I dont know why but people are are cruel at times. I dont know you or Nollaig, but she has an amazing gift and she is going very far! Ignore the petty comments they come from bitter people x
re. Janet Devlin, Nollaig's voice is much stronger than Janet's. And yes, Sharon's got to help her get more confident. She looks like she'd be more comfortable in a studio than on stage.
i love nollaig and the fact that she is so shy and sweet makes me love her even more because i can relate to her. I am sure that no matter what happens with her in this competition she will be making an album bressie will make sure of that.
@CupidStuntt I don't really see your point to be honest. I would have thought that a great voice is a great voice. Full stop. Why would anyone want to put on an act when they have the talent. What is the point trying to be like everyone else, when at the end of the day, the goal is to create genuine music. I feel that some of the best artists create something honest from themselves (Lisa Hannigan, kate bush, stevie nicks, Joanna Newsom) A voice like hers is a voice to be heard!
Alan sang the perfect vocal, full of emotion. He is the better singer of the 2 hands down. I like Nollaig also but if you are judging on the voice it had to be Alan. Nollaig does not look comfortable on stage and perhaps it was her vulnerabillity that got her the win here
