10:07 special sight, looking at hyena eyes and his relaxed smart eyes... it's hard cause this predators are in infinitive war since birth.I respect each and every life cause it's daily struggle.🦁❤️
I really like these Moniko/Sankai males💓they will surely be an aggressive coalition if they are close and united. It’s a pleasure to see them again when they were still four but sad that their fourth brother❣️🌹 is no longer there...I hope all is well for the three brothers and that they will soon be a dad... Thank you for the video Rob🙂
Is this an old video then when they were younger? Soon be a Dad doesn't seem to apply to them here in this video. Anyhow, Salas' really scattered them. Hope they found their way back to each other if this is a recent video.
Wow!! The undisputed Kings of the African wildlife, strikes again!! Love them...More of this pleased!! Thanks for sharing this amazing video of such a beautiful creatures...One of the greatest Predators of all time...The great KING LIONS!!!
@@mattcaplis3045 Chances are that was their original pride so the males only chased them away since they were allowed to leave without either a broken back or being castrated.
As a child watching Wild Kingdom, I always prayed the baby gazelle would escape. Now, I appreciate that the lion at least kills them before eating. All the circle of life. These lions will one day kill cubs of their own kind. Amazing how things are in nature. I do feel that hyenas are natural enemies but I have less sympathy because they eat their prey alive.
Amazing sighting!!! The young nomads must stick together to survive. They are not big enough or strong enough to take on the full grown males yet. They may have to look elsewhere. The hyena clan knew there was nothing they could do against those young bruisers. I felt bad for that one young hyena that got caught. He was tough but there was no escape from that grip. I’m shocked the grown males let the young nomad go. They could have easily killed him with 3 on 1. Great footage here. I wonder if these males will all meet again.
@@deneyiacobelli294 nope not their sons..they are sons of Olope and Olbarikoi..these Salas males seem to be tolerant at times..they didnt bother Scar when he was weak and lying by a hippo carcass
Ahhh there's nothing like that feeling of being connected to wild life than a cacophony of clicking camera shutters, vehicle motors and annoying human chatter. But hey, at least we can be thankful to know there still is wildlife out there. ...THANK YOU
Right. Like get the heck out of there. I'm glad they are bringing us these videos. I'm ecstatic, but this isn't Hollyweird. What's up with all the chatter. SHUT UP!!!!!
Oh my goodness!! Lions are truely very impressive!! I am enjoying every minutes of this video!! Please.more.of this video!! Thanks for sharing!! The best video ever!!!
Ya but did the one that got attacked run, when the others started chasing? I thought one of the big males stayed to hold him there... I 🙏 that he bolted, If had the chance.
Those young lions if they stick together will be a force and very powerful. They got rid of their competition their mortal enemy Great video. Rob enjoyed salas boys always hear whe.n you don🎉't want them to hear most lions don't eat hyneas
No this was towards the end of last year. Orkitok limps when he has been sleeping for some time, usually after 10 minutes walking it eases up and then after a good workout is barely noticeable
Poor young hyena. Moniko/Sankai paid a price for the hyena den ride. Did Moniko/Sankai youngster survive? Was he badly beaten? Sala's are keeping a watch on their kingdom!
He was stabbed three times in the back, showing he was running away from the people, there were no cows killed that night so it was not even retaliation. It resulted in a crackdown on illegal grazing for a while but it seems to be being overlooked again in a lot of areas

Old clip but that hyena cub might have survived. Catching his throat by a lion doesn’t mean death even for a hyena cub. I have seen a similar video and the hyena cub walked away after the lions left like nothing happened
@@robtheranger More than one lion were involved to kill it and it took them a long time. I have seen a video of a cub of a similar age surviving a similar attack by a single adult male lion and walked away after the lion left like nothing happened
Not related, they got distracted by the other young males running away. I think the first one to chase the others probably thought that one of his brothers would finish the fight and not follow him. But I may be wrong
The young ones were about 3 years old here, not all from the same litter but all from the same pride so at least cousins if not half-brothers or full brothers
It really seemed like those males were too young when they were pushed out to fend for themselves, because the one held that hyena for what seemed like an eternity and couldn't seem to grasp it correctly to asphyxiate it. I could see the hyena's eyes rolling around focusing and basically looking for an escape.
I can show you a video of a ten year old lion with a hyena cub the same size also with it rolling its eyes. These males were at exactly the average age all males are when they leave the pride.
That was an unwise move by the nomadic males. Had they killed the hyena cub for food because they were starving, it would make more sense. Instead they settled a lion-hyena dispute on territory defended by a different coalition of males. Ultimately, the hyena clan did get the last laugh by acting as a security-alarm system and alerting the big males about the intruders.
Thanks for sharing Rob 👍👏 Another real wildlife video. Hyenas like to devour their prey while still alive with refinement of cruelty but from time to time they also have a tragic destiny.
Hyenas don't "like" to devour their prey alive. They can't do it any other way. Also, they have to eat quickly before lions or a large pack of wild dogs show up.
Hyenas have no other way of killing their prey except eating it while it's still alive. It's not any more cruel than a cow eating grass. No malice is intended. It's just the way they are built. They cannot kill prey the way lions and leopards do, so they have to do it the way they were evolved to do. They are not cruel. They have to eat like every other animal.
Lions also eat a lot of their prey whilst still alive and they have a better ability to ensure death beforehand. Animals just do what is easiest for them.
I noticed during lion attacks a lot of hyenas will end up with their own paws in their mouth. The first couple times I saw it, I assumed it was just frantically biting anything it could reach and didn’t realize it was its own paw due to the adrenaline…but I wonder if it could actually be an intentional defense mechanism to protect its throat?? Because there were times it actually prevented the lion/s from biting its throat until they got the hyena to let go…I just think it’s super fascinating. Does anyone know?
