Marketing is fun! Said no one ever :) There's a girl I know on Facebook who mapped out her marketing plan and followed it, even getting a BookBub spot. She's crushing it. The last I saw, she was in the 1000s for BSR. She rewrote the Book of Job, dark fantasy.

Number 7 is the key point. Marketing a book is far more difficult than writing the book. Most authors don't know marketing skills very well which results in low boom sales. I learned this the hard way. I would never think of publishing another book until you research the marketing for at least a year.

The info and strategy that you provide is invaluable! I would have been in serious trouble if I hadn't watched several of your videos. Titles, chapters, hooks, even understanding the specific KIND of non fiction book I'm writing. I would have already made expensive and book killing mistakes that I would have surely given up!

Great advice, Julie! Yeah, I can do things to get my books out...but no one is good at everything (although my ego tells me I come close). :) That's why a good team is vital for success.

Writing a book is such a solitary thing that it is easy to think you are going the entire distance alone but then realize that you do need others, especially in the editing and marketing phases. Great advice as always, Julie!

Great tips, I especially like tip number 5 about publishing not being the destination buy only a stop along the way. After all, publishing a book and being able to say that we are a published author is nice, but it will soon seem like a hollow victory if no one ever buys and reads our book.

To the Broad..Or her initial investigative team. There is an incalcuable severance achieved when rapid fire counsel proves so practically useful..so quickly. Not yet linguistically vetted I still perceive the crucial difference between merely pragmatic and the inspiring interface that is..J..the book..B. SELF P&S instantly focuses on title leading to clarity of subject and initial approach. Thereafter I changed the title of my primary essay from: ..Cdn Essays of Interest to No One..into..Why Ms Trudeau Hates Cdns..or vice versa. (From 4 pages to 15) PS Even north of Qualicum it snowed heavily..froze deeply..and then slowly recaptured the greens and browns of a traditional Westcoast winter season. It is 9 am and 44F. Thanx Dan

Your use of the english language is quite comprehensive! The change of title does make a difference! Nice work. The good thing with West Coast snow storms is you only have to wait a few days and the rain cleans it all up like it never happened. Take care.

I blame Wittgenstein's Measure created as an antidote to the aging Occams Razor..for my aversion to Orwellian advice; Never use big when small words do the job.. PS..it took 72 hours of nonstop drops to force this landscape to change back from appearing as ..Hills like White Elephants..

1 - Author Concierge who is a project manager, 2 - Story Expert, 3 - Writing Coach or Writer, Content editor, 4 - Copy Editor, (Fact Checker is Optional but also someone different so this could be 1 more), 5 - Proofreader, 6 - Keyword & Category Researcher, 7 - Cover Designer, 8 -Interior Layout, 9 -Production Manager for Upload to Distribution Channels, 10 -Team Effort for Title/Table of Contents Brainstorming Session which the Production Specialist is in charge of, 11 - Marketing Manager for Strategic Direction, 12 - Media Specialist for Pitching, 13 - Online Marketing Specialist for Website and Social Media Audits and Amazon Ads Management ... phew!! :) Sometimes we have a second proofreader go through in layout too.

My book is in the publishing stage, going through editing I must say it’s hard for me to detach myself from how I wrote the book I cringe at every correction I see made in the book I want to trust the editor, but I also feel the book is losing my voice and the way I want the readers to receive the message How can I as a writer trust the editors to do their work without interfering and resisting change to the book?

Good tips good videos. Did you write a book like mine, I didn't finish mine because I needed help to write more ideas. It was about a hamster that was found behind a rock . After a UFO sighting at a music concert, the hamster was rolling down the hill and growing with the music up to 20 ft tall. Second the hamster attack people cars, went into the city biting on buildings, and flipping cars. Third, rescue team got there and caught it and took it into the zoo. It shrink back into its normal size. The lab don't know why the music makes the hamster grow. To be continue... Second chapter The hamster escaped the zoo and found a female hamster both were biting on the buildings around the city. Hamster caused a lots of chaos around the buildings,parks, inside restaurants wherever there was music. Julio V Brownsville Texas Can someone help me sale this sharp , amazing, brilliant cartoon book. It's funny,scary about endangered hamster species.
