@@notNyxiann Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same fucking thing... over and over again expecting... shit to change... That. Is. Crazy. The first time somebody told me that, I dunno, I thought they were bullshitting me, so, boom, I shot him. The thing is... he was right. And then I started seeing, everywhere I looked, everywhere I looked all these fucking pricks, everywhere I looked, doing the exact same fucking thing... over and over and over and over again thinking: "This time is gonna be different. No, no, no please... This time is gonna be different." I'm sorry, I don't like... The way... you are looking at me... Okay, Do you have a fucking problem in your head, do you think I am bullshitting you, do you think I am lying? Fuck you! Okay? Fuck you!... It's okay, man. I'm gonna chill, hermano. I'm gonna chill... The thing is... Alright, the thing is I killed you once already... and it's not like I am fucking crazy. It's okay... It's like water under the bridge. I am only now noticing the woodblock rattling in the background of the harder parts... It's... It's the spinning wheels of a slot machine... GOD that's good.
@@vinnae Here's my logic: Delirium is way worse then Ultra Greed, but you can at least pick and choose what runs to take to the void. If you're OP, you fight Delirium, if not, you just ignore the void portal. Ultra Greed, though, is _always_ waiting at the end of greed mode. If you're not OP by the last floor, you might as well reset.
Is it just me, or do I hear bits of "Depression Shop" in here? Kinda makes me wonder about what an Ultra Greed remix of the Flash shop theme would sound like...
I don't understand why Antibirth's ost didn't end up in Repentance, even as an option. That was one of the biggest reasons I wanted to play Repentance. *It isn't in there, and it legit feels incomplete* Luckily, I bought it through Bandcamp so now I can play Foreigner in Zeal whenever I want
i honestly can't understate how much i LOVE this piece in particular, your work with this whole soundtrack is honestly incredible not just because of the fact that it all slaps, but because tracks like this completely recontextualize the entire mood of the scene you're in. chorus mortis gives off the impression that isaac has everything under control during the fight with ultra greed, and in a way almost sounds like the battle theme for the *player* rather than ultra greed. this on the other hand makes it feel like you're walking in on ultra greed putting on a grand, demented show and you're just another pawn in his game.
Completly agree, like with mausoleum. The anitbirth music making the floor seem super grand just made the overall experience more fun (not to mention the second section of the floor) but in repentance with walls of denial it kind of just becomes another floor and not a different experience.
@@nubby3050 eh, i disagree with that last point about walls of denial making it seem like just another floor. machine in the walls is AMAZING don't get me wrong, but they're both fantastic tracks in their own right. walls of denial helps give off the impression that the floor you're on is full of otherworldly creatures that will unleash whatever occultic powers they have on you in a heartbeat. also the guitar riff on the "you're in a room full of enemies" layer SMACKS imo.
The beginning of this song goes so hard. I’m a sucker for percussion instruments, so to hear it being used as the intro to the song greeting you to Ultra Greed is just so nice. The rest of the song feels like you’re on your last leg trying to slay the beast that stands before you as he beats the ever living [MONEY] out of you. It’s a really intense feeling to defeat what you’re lust for money has done to you. You try to thwart the monster you’ve become, and in doing so, you’ve lost not only your sanity, but your life.
I'm a professional classical musician and bro you have a special talent for making absolute bangers. This music is "simplistic" by classical standards, however it takes a seriously talented musician like yourself to make something simple into something that immediately grabs attention and get's people nodding their heads to the beat. Besides, you singlehandedly fixed the worse boss in the game by making a track that just makes u wanna fight him longer and more often hahahahaa
I can only imagine what creative shit you're gonna make for the repentance floors, im especially excited how youre going to do dogmas theme. The preacher in his song is so cool so I wonder if youre going to do something different or go with a preacher too but go balls to the wall with it.
mudeth has quite the voice range, he could probably pull off a few voices for the preachers in dogmas fight (IF he decides to even do that same thing, he might do his own thing).
@@Ohmman Wait, the vocals in these tracks are MUDETH!?!? WHAT!?!? DO THEY WORK FOR A CHOIR OR SOMETHING!?!? I THOUGHT THE THIEF USED SAMPLES OR SOMETHING FROM ACTUAL CHURCH CHOIRS ALL THIS TIME THEY WERE SO GOOD!
@@Glory2Snowstar well to be fair, the front and center vocals of chanting and screaming and hook singing are mudeth, but any choir sample is probably a high quality synthetic soundfont or synthesizer of some sort, but I could be wrong!
Fantastic ost, listened to the whole thing in order 4 times and it's my all time favorite video game soundtrack EASILY. mudeth you outdid yourself, this entire soundtrack is just perfect. Makes playing isaac so much more fun.
Revalopod NFTs are like a thing on the internet where “there’s only one of them” and get sold for stupid amounts of money. This track’s initials spell out “NFT”.
@@DoomerSlice a better explanation (summarized heavily of a long explanation) is basically; imagine you go up and buy a painting, now you own a very specific copy of the painting, you cant touch it you cant modify it you have no rights over the real image, and apparently it somehow affects the environment i think so, its just in general dumb and bad
There's something ethereal about the sudden entrance of growling bass instruments with a higher-pitched arpeggiation of that very strange and interesting synth with very rough kick-snare rhythm. I can't describe it, except to say it is beautiful. Mixing this must have been a nightmare, but my goodness the combination of synth and orchestra is just perfect. I could listen to this on loop for a while, I think I will.
Hey mudeth I just wanted to say I've been listening to your music ever since I found antibirth three years ago and you are one of my favorite VGM composers. Thanks for sharing your musical gift, it has truly great to share in it with you.
Oh my gosh I can't stop listening to this, definitely one of my new favorites from the soundtrack. The music hits like a fucking train and drags you along with it.
I love you and your music so goddamn much, Machine in the walls and Innocence Glitched are some of my fav tracks EVER. I hope someday your ost is available for use in consoles when Repentance gets there, I doubt it would happen but a guy can dream.
This song is literally a godsend from you Mudeth, it makes Ultra Greed and Greedier fight so, so much more epic to fight. But literally all of your boss themes do that.
While I prefer the version from Afterbirth, I really love how the main part of this track reminds me of something like a slot machine, casino, circus, or carnival. I'm not exactly sure why it does, but I'm damn impressed by it nonetheless The closest comparison I can think of is the track "Heart Palpitations" from LISA: the Hopeful, which makes me think of tires spinning
I was casually playing today with the Antibirth music++ mod and did some greedier runs, only one succeeded in me reaching Ultra Greed, but oh my lord this music makes it all the worth it I can’t quite put it into words, but the repetitive melody that only increases in intensity almost feels like Ultra Greed simply laughing at you. Like after you’ve defeated his first form and thought the fight was over, only for him to reveal that that was far from the truth Also the same repetitive sound I’m referring to also reminds me of coins and slot machines in a way I can’t quite place, but of course, that notion is perfect for Ultra Greed of all people
this has gotta be my favourite track from vol 3, gives off a bubbly circus theme while still sounding ominous, and i also love how the main part syncs with ultra greed falling from his noose i seriously cannot express how much i love you, your ost single handedly made antibirth my favourite dlc, and i want to thank you for doing all this and supporting the tboi community with your godtier music 💖
This song really elevates successful fights against this guy to a new level. I just had a run where 2:05 happened right as the Ultra Greedier phase started. Two perfectly timed drops in one fight! You’re something else, Mudeth.
This track is definitely more original than Chorus mortis (which is just the title theme but high pitche"d and faster). Not that Chorus Mortis doesn't slap a bit, but Non Funkible Token really has that feeling of frenzy as you dodge Ultra Greed's volley of attacks, even with some pauses here and there mirroring Ultra Greed's eye-coin slot machine attack. EDIT: I've just noticed that the main melody in various parts of the song is the shop theme from the original Binding of Isaac OST ("Greed"). Great touch!!
Hold on, are you the official mudeth? you are making music for Repetance? How didnt i knew about this? m a big fan of your work in antibirth, really looking forward to get repetance now.
His eyes glitter gold, As his greed showed, As he drops in place, His cheeks clap with grace, He looks at Isaac ready to fight, Be ready Isaac you’re about to be robbed of your coins *Tonight*
I never liked the Ultra Greed boss theme before, but this Mudeth version makes the fight way more enjoyable than before and has now given me a reason to play greed mode more than before
I love this piece so much, the build up and how hard the beat hits with the slot machines in the back. Without a doubt one of my favorites in the entire track!
Edmund McMillen: It's just the final boss of an alternate game mode, just make a normal soundtrack, okay? Mudeth: make a chaotic soundtrack that just listening to it makes you donate in every store and be afraid of coins at the same time? noted!
