You should check Platinum WoW's videos, especially "Everything You NEED To Know About Dragons In Warcraft" or "Warcraft's STUPIDEST Dragon". They are extremely funny and entertaining videos that give context for this trailer, through they are +20 minutes long.
'They are made of stone! They should still wake up even though they were damaged!' They are constructs, it is basically the same as claiming that say... a phone should work after you broke the screen beyond repair or snapped it in half. Things break, and those watchers were broken, which is why they couldn't wake up.
@@HannaHsOverInvested You should watch the Legacies trailers whenever you get the time, or perhaps you want to wait until all of them are out, it will give you some background on the dragons themselves.
So the voice over from the Dragonflight cinematic is from the Red Dragon you see. That's Alexstrasza as you may be familiar with from the books and previous videos!
@@HannaHsOverInvested Just in-case you've forgotten she's known as the Dragonqueen as she's the de facto ruler of all dragons (as well as the actual ruler of the Red Dragonflight as well the mother of a lot of red dragons) and while she's a huge dragon (as in a human could stand between her toes and not reach the top of her foot big) she's one of the kindest creatures in Azeroth (her formal title is the Lifebinder and she's guardian of all life). Also the Titanic Keepers (a watcher is a title, "titanic keeper" is the name for type of creature they are) are somewhere between a golem and a magical robot so damaging them enough will stop them from working.
I loved your reaction to this! It's so heartwarming to see the excitement you had following the little journey of our somber stone buddy here. If you're looking for more Warcraft content, I think you're all caught up on the big flashy cinematics, but I think there's still a series that's more of an animatic style like Warbringers or Harbingers that you have left. It's called Lords of War - there are 5 parts and they center around giving some history around the original orcish clans before the invasion of Azeroth. There's some cool story telling that happens that I think you'd really enjoy!
It's different with these. Yes they are made of stone, they are Titan Constructs. Basically living Stone Giants and they feel, live and die. The Dragons Leaders left the Island in fear of corruption mainly in the Black Dragonflight. So when Alexstrasza (the matriarch of the red dragon flight) caught the watcher and flew up to let herself fall and glide around the spire , the relief in her face is coming from her caming back home finally after 10k years. With them and their powers (gotten them from the titans) the Island itself comes back to life. A missing puzzle piece is finally getting put back where it belongs
I'm always here when the topic is Hearthstone. Those two trailers + the one that's yet to come is basically all the expansions for that year, they basically tried to make a overarching story in that one (something new to hearthstone) where basically the villains took over, The heroes arrived, and a "end game" like scenario with both of then, funnily enough in that one there was a "solo adventure" where you could play as both sides, Really good stuff.
Nice quick breakdown, as I don't know if you've been told in the past year: The Dragons of Azeroth. There are many types, what we consider "normal" dragons (four legs, two wings - like the Red one you saw catch the Watcher as he fell), Proto-Dragons (short front "arms" and very large wings to walk with when landed), and others. The "normal" dragons are part of the Five Orders, the Protectors of Azeroth. The Red Dragon you saw is Alexstraza the Lifebinder, Queen of all Dragons, and leader of the Red Dragonflight - the Protectors of Life. The Bronze: Norzdormu the Timeless, Leader of the Bronze (Yellow) Flight, Guardians of Time. The Green: Merithra the Dreamer, Leader of the Green Flight, Guardians of The Emerald Dream (Hope and rebirth) - Her mother was the original Aspect (Ysera) but she got correpted, died, then was reborn in the Shadowlands and came back temporarily to help. Merithra is the correct protector of the Dream. The Blue: Kalecgos The Spell-Weaver, The Steward of Magic, Leader of the Blue Flight, Guardians of Magic - His father was Malygos, the former leader, but he went a little mad, then recovered, but decided all non-dragon mages on Azeroth should die, so... he had to be killed. Not "evil" per-se, but still. Sad. The Black: Ebyssian The Earth Warder, leader of the Black Flight and Protector of the world itself. Issues with the Black flight = this will take some time. The original Leader of the Black Flight was Neltharion The Earth-Warder, protector of the World itself, rocks, soil, the core, everything that made up the planet. He was corrupted by the Void-alligned Old Gods and became "Deathwing" the Destroyer. Almost his entire Flight went into madness and evil with him, bar for two sons:- Ebyssian fled and hid out with some Tauren (Bull-people) and kept away from all of his flight so as not to be corrupted by them. Sabellian led a few other "non-corrupted" black dragons through a portal into Draenor and hid there from the corruption. The last son of Neltharion, Wrathion, whilst still in his egg, was clensed of his corruption before hatching, and when he grew old enough he helped wipe out the last of the corrupted black dragons, and he thought he was the very last Black Dragon left. Deathwing was defeated (by us awesome heroes of Azeroth, plus the other Aspects uniting against him). When the Isles woke up, all dragons heard the call to return, even Proto-drakes and others (Storm Dragons, similar but not part of the main five Flights). Sabellian heard it and brought the last of the Blacks back with him. Wrathion and Ebyssian met each other, and from the last three uncorrupted sons of Neltharion, Ebyssian was chosen to be Aspect of the Black as he was more balanced with his choices than his brothers. Wrathion became his Diplomat, and Sabellion became his General.
Personally, I was actually hoping for the stone guy to shatter, so we can assemble and reawaken him later in the game! Would've made for an awesome quest, and him realizing that it all worked out could've been a cool moment.
One way to look at it is that despite the Watchers being made of stone, being damaged and defaced disrupts the energies that give them life. As well as being damaged could potentially cause them to bleed that energy out over time.
In Dragonflight-cinematic, the green thunder you see in the distance is the War of the Ancients, the books you read. In the background there you can see the Demongs of the Burning Crusade invade with the blessing of Queen Azshara /Fish-lady. In the book (if you read the full trilogy) you also encounter the Dragon aspects and the voice you hear talking in the beginning is Alexstrasza, the leader of the dragons and Aspect of the Red Dragons. So the voice saying they need to leave the island they are on is so that the Dragons can go and help defend the world from the demons. At the end of the Cataclysm-expansion (cinematic of the big dragon who got metal armor plates hammered onto him by nailing it into his flesh and him flying over the world causing mayhem) the remaining Dragon leaders drain their powers in order to finally defeat the mad dragon and the cinematic explains that they are no longer the Guardians of Azeroth. "The Age of Dragons is over, now the Age of Mortals begins". But something is happening where the Dragons are regaining their powers and they need to find their ancestral homeland again.
I'm not sure if you'll see this since it's been a few weeks, but if you want to get a little more in-depth idea of all the lore and story that lead up to the World of Warcraft era of the timeline then I would recommend checking out the cinematics and cut-scenes from Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos/Frozen Throne (or Reforged, which is a remastered version that came out a couple years ago). It's divided into four arcs, referred to as "campaigns", in which you play as a separate faction and follow their role in the story. Each campaign begins and ends with a cinematic, and each mission begins and ends with an "in-game" cutscene that will give you a good idea of what's going on without actually playing the game. However, it can be a *lot* of content. All of them together run almost five hours. But hey, think of it as a trove of content that you can dig into on a rainy day!
One of the things I hope they address is the fact that in the Legion expansion, they claimed that all the dragons had become infertile. Maybe, with access to their homeland, they can fix that...because baby dragons are too cute not to know anymore.
The aspects flights had become infertile because they lost their power but it was stated in BFA their power was returning that's how they helped with the heart. Also, Valen had that vision of the sky filled with dragons and the Naaru following them. Maybe they made them able to have babies again, who knows? There were also some eggs, but after that it's over.
It would be really interesting to see your reaction to "GETTING CHOKESLAMMED FOR MONEY | Payday 2" by TheRussianBadger. It's a review of the game payday 2, but Badger explains the various game mechanics in a funny and entertaining way that even a non gamer can understand.
I know how much you love Overwatch as well, so I wanted to let you know there’s a new Overwatch cinematic as well. It’s called “Wastelander” and it’s about Overwatch’s newest hero. I’d recommend that you check it out.
Blizzard really does have some of the best art and cinematics out there. They people who work on them truly love this fantasy genre. And your reaction is a testament to their hard work. I am so glad that you give this medium a shot. Again your joy is so infectious, I love. I can't wait for you to try your first game and seeing all of your emotions as you play.
OK, because it's driving my bf absolutely demented, would you consider watching the 9-ish minute long video of the Intro to Ori And The Blind Forrest on JamesInDigital's channel? Andy's tried to attach a link umpteen times, but hasn't had the wherewithal to actually tell you what it is he's suggesting to watch.
I love seeing how much you love WoW stuff! I think nerdy types aren't taken seriously by a lot of non-gamer types because a lot of the latter think it seems silly to enjoy something like WoW as an adult. It makes me happy to see someone from outside our nerdy circles totally understand why we love it and enjoying it with us!
@@HannaHsOverInvested they mentioned during the release that we can now do dungeons and raids and questing so maybe one day will all be friends instead ☺️
There's a great intro to a game that I think you'd really enjoy. It's ten minutes long, filled with character and emotion (even though none of the characters actually speak) and it's as cute as heck. If you're interested (and don't have a to-watch list a million miles long) then I'll put the link in a reply to this... assuming RU-vid lets me attach a link...
Is this that link to Ori And The Blind Forrest again? The link still hasn't worked! You've tried it twice now and it still won't work. I don't think it's meant to be.
Always love the Hearthstone cinematics. I can't wait until she catches up! Descent of Dragons and the puppet show were so good and I hoped she would get to them in this one, but I hope she gets to them soon, and the newest one, Voyage to the Sunken City is a BOP!
I strongly recommend the Reign of Chaos videos by JoseBV. They essentially take dialog from Warcraft III and assets of World of Warcraft to retell the story of the Warcraft universe, giving a lot of context for the other videos you've watched so far. Plus, the cinematography is great and, frankly, I wish this guy had been hired by Blizzard to work on some of their projects.
I've watched the Dragonflight cinematic about 10 times and never once noticed the stone guy cracking until you pointed it out lol. Really changed the tone of the cinematic knowing he was just cold stone
Yees HannaH! Uldum is the best HS cinematic by far and so happy to finally see you watch it! What a banger that song is. After all these years, I still go back and listen to it once in a while.
The final part of the hearthstone story you are currently watching is the dragon descent, after that it starts new stories. But yes, Rafaam is amazing, he has to be my favorite character in the series. (The mummy dude)
LOL, I loved it. Also, felt chills with the dragonflight cinematic but you should probably throw actual physics for "stonemen" xD this made me rememeber a D&D session where the DM asked us after a noisy player questioned the reality of the fight: "do you really want me to get into the physics of this??!" LOL it was so fun
Stony Tony is the man! And love how my wife Alexstrasza swoops in to save him at the perfect moment. Tbh I’m surprised you haven’t dove into Final Fantasy XIV more. I only resubscribe to the game whenever there’s new lore to play through. It’s also the first video game to bring me to tears. No other game can hold a candle to their story telling. Just be forewarned. There’s enough content to consume to outlast the Star Wars series along with the mid series featured films. Glad you’re enjoying Warcraft though ;8o D
Right Didn't have I clue what I was just watching, but it was funny Lol ....with cute little Diddy's to go along with!! So ......Was watchable!! Though I'm the kinda Fella who sings when making breakfast or when cleaning!
I just binge-watched all the non-gamer watches video and I have two recommendations: 1: One of the big names and the classics: Half Life. I specifically suggest the fan-made remake of Half Life 1, called Black Mesa 2: There's a youtube channel called Civvie 11 who does level-by-level reviews, and has covered some games you've reacted to before (mainly doom and wolfenstein), I would suggest watching his videos on doom
There’s a new playable race called Dracthyr (spelling probably wrong) which are basically dragon people, so technically you can play as a dragon in this
Love a good Blizzard cinematic. I'm cautiously optimistic for the Dragonflight expansion. They're already making some questionable decisions, but we'll see how it turns out...
Not gonna lie, I had a similar response to that Dragonflight trailer XD (also Hannah, I suspect it'd be less dramatic if everyone was alive and fixed it 10 seconds into the trailer lol)
Hey just found your channel and blazed through a bunch of your vids! I highly recommend checking out the games Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. They are without a doubt the best Lord Of The Rings based games ever with a good story in my opinion.
Blizzard may have been a shitstorm of bad vibes over the last few years (probably longer behind closed doors). But one thing is for certain. Cinematics teams are masterful storytellers and craftspeople.
Does making a WoW trailer reaction mean that the next Hearthstone reaction will be a while still? Because they're both set in the same world and made by the same studio?
Dyson Blade? as in Dyson Airblade? The Hand dryer, from the makers of Dyson Vacuum cleaners? You named your character after a hand dryer. I mean, if your character was named after a vacuum cleaner, it would make sense, because they both suck, but your character is named after a thing that just blows.
I'm glad that WoW is moving back towards it's roots with the LotR feeling. I feel like Shadowlands, and to an extent Legion, strayed too far from that concept.
@@LuckySmurf meh i always found BFA to be way more sci-fi with all the tech heavily involved in the war campaigns because of Azerite, and the heavy revisiting of all the Titan facilities and such.
@@Doomfoolable I think the steam punk tech we got with BFA was the result of the natural progression of the tech we've seen people (gnomes and goblins specifically), using since vanilla. Azerite made things goofy, sure, but the tech would have eventually reach that point regardless imo.
@@HannaHsOverInvested lucky? hes does have damage. maybe he was not as exsposed to damage and there fore the magic dident have to protect thim so much and therefore his dident completly deplete?? 100% theory here : )
This is a classic chicken and the egg situation. Did the stone people not wake up because they were missing parts of their bodies. Or were they missing parts of their bodies because they were dead/had lost whatever made them move and be alive
1:53 Holy smokes, the wraps around his fist tightened! That's not something I've seen in that type of animation! And they're fixing everything in WOW! I'm just glad they're not messing with the timeline anymore!

I feel so conflicted, after all of the things that came out about blizzard i can't allow myself to go back to WOW. I still love all the time i've spent in the game and i wouldn't change a single moment but i can't go back and enjoy like i used to.
You should read WOW Dawn of the Aspects by Richard A Knaak it details the history of all 5 of the Drangonflights. Anywho hope you are doing well enjoyed your videos as always
Dragonflight represents Blizzard getting their crap together and potentially getting the Warcraft franchise back on track. The current expansion (Shadowlands) is just a dumpster fire of horrendous story telling, forced retconning, mishandling of 99% of the existing beloved major characters used, and trying to shove a new villain down our throats that had no build up, no previous exposure and a complete lack of anything resembling depth or development into being the "mastermind of everything" that has happened in the past. So far, it seems like Blizz are actually getting it together, along with fixing numerous MAJOR gameplay system problems the players have been explaining to them have been in the toilet for a decade+.
@@MrZeuz666 Hence why I started off with "potentially". My trust for them to actually do even half of it right is almost non-existent. But, even just a year ago, we never would have gotten a 10th of the stuff they've put out as far as in-game story wrap-ups and mechanic/system adjustments and re-designs we've seen in the works for DF.
@@OverworkedITGuy I don't have any trust left in the gaming industry. So I'm slightly further gone than you. But yeah, I almost agree with you. Not much to place that tiny faith on though. We just speculate at this point. I don't really like anything that they've shown. It's just that they haven't shown what "we" usually hate either. Which is the "plus" that people are building their entire hope on. P.S. Not to mention not having much belief left in the human race as a whole.
