The Wood Elves were the tree looking elves you were interested in. They are fey and capricious, living in Athel Loren forest and hiding away from the world, only to be roused when their woods are trespassed in or threatened by outsiders. They have fey magics and mighty beasts of the forest to fill out their ranks, alongside fast lithe and deadly elven warriors. One of the warhammer fantasy armies that has more female characters and warriors then typical male heavy armies. Like most elven factions in the game and the lore. There was one time a lost dwarven caravan was murdered by the guardians of athel loren. The dwarf hold upon hearing of this made plans for vengance, they mustered heavily armed and armoured clan warriors, consulted experts on the wood elves and chose the deep winter as the time to make their strike for retribution. By marching into the forest during winter few elves could be roused to fight and this time they were facing dwarf warriors not merchants. The dwarfs took a bloody toll upon the wood elves and cut down some of their oldest trees. Then made a pyre of the sacred wood and bodies to celebrate their grudge against the elves was now settled.
You should react to "Sho vs. Shinra Full Fight English Dub" it's one of the best anime fight's i've EVER seen and tells a bit of story concerning the anime Fire Force, the animation for it is 10/10 as well!!!
We enjoy the other side cause it’s just fun to be unapologetically evil . Also they got a lot of style that sometimes the “good guys” don’t got. I love the monsters that chaos and the beastmen got so I really like there faction. Personally a villain doesn’t always gotta be relatable, sometimes it’s ok to just be evil and a fun villain. Like Jack Horner from Puss in Boots 2.
I think a perfect example of this is Sigvald the Prince of Slaanesh. He is so one note it's charming. Dude canonically polishes his armor so much that he has a perfect reflection of his face to see at all times. Also lets not forget him wearing a chainmail thong and nothing else under his plate armor. So extreme it goes around the being charming in its own way.
Beastmen are the most tragic faction in Warhammer, IMO. They're often mutants born to non-mutated parents and are abandoned as babies if they aren't killed outright. They turn to chaos worship because chaos accepts them as they are and puts them in a society where their mutations are considered gifts.
@@nekrataali ehhh kinda. There more tragic as in GW gives them about as much attention as the Eldar in 40k which is barely any and it’s an amazement when they do get any attention. Also chaos doesn’t even accept them. Literally in there lore the chaos gods barely give them any notice unless they are very very exceptional. They are evil down to the bone. Like how it’s literally within a Skaven’s nature to back stab, for beastmen it’s to destroy.
@@cheeseninja1115 I think that describes the entire 40K franchise. The whole thing is so over-the-top '90s edgelord that it loops around to being badass. It's not cringe only because it's too far gone for that. There's an unspoken statement at the beginning that says, "we know this is silly, but we're going to lean into that, so if you're not willing to take that step over the line with us then this isn't for you."
@@enkiduthewildman the media itself isn't cringe anymore, but interfacing with it in the same way as the 90's edgelord stuff just as weird as a cop car with a punisher decal
Dwarves in Warhammer are much pettier and more vengeful than in LotR. Grudges are literally a part of their religion, and if you offend one dwarf, you've slighted them all. There's a story where a noble hired a dwarf to build him a castle. They agreed upon the cost and after a few years the construction was complete. Unknown to the noble, the exact value of his currency had fluctuated in those years, meaning that the original payment promised was off by a few pennies. The dwarf, offended at being cheated, returned home and recorded the slight in THE BOOK OF GRUDGES, a sacred tome of dwarven butthurt. A few pennies is nothing, but grudges accrue interest just like debt. Exponentially. Sure enough, in a few years the entire dwarven nation descended on the castle and razed it to the ground
There is an in-game mission when you play the main dwarf factions in Warhammer Total War where the goal is to raze/sack a settlement and the reward is literally two gold pieces compared to hundreds and thousands you need to spend on anything worthwhile. :D
I like how greenskins and skaven have committed so many slights against dwarves they generally don't even bother writing new ones down in the book. There's just some blurbs saying "Too many grudges to list. Genocide all skaven and greenskins on sight." 🤣
Teclis is also very famous for making fun of the dawi at any chance he gets, not to mention Thorgrim is right about teclis not speaking for the elves. Teclis is not a leader to the elves outside from the tower of hoeth and he doesnt seem to be sent by the phoenix king as there is princes of caledor there amongst other elves.
To be fair to the dwarfs they did inform him of the payment issue before the razing. He just declined to address the issue so what other logical course of action could there be?
Wasn't there one story where a couple innocent farmers were butchered by dwarves because unbeknownst to them, great great great great something grandaddy had slighted a dwarf? Grudges don't just accrue interest over time, they are inherited.
Warhammer has a couple major variations. Primarily Grimdark Science Fiction (40K and Rogue Trader) and Fantasy (this is the older fantasy tabletop war game, and the more recent Age of Sigmar.) The Total War Games that feature fantasy are usually tied to the OG fantasy lore. Hope you're having a good day. And have a great week.
@@HannaHsOverInvestedthe wood elves are the elves who stayed behind in Athel Loren after the war of the beard or the war of vengeance depending on if your an high elf or dwarf
@@chainsawboy2388 Technically five-on-two if you count the two bloodthirsters he made into his axes. That's ALMOST a fair fight (I kid. I've had Gotrek lose a one-on-one with _Valkia_ of all people. Kinda BS if I'm honest)
12:21 - Definitely! Total War has been around for 23 years now (first Total War game, Shogun: Total War, was released in 2000.) They've spanned cultures and moments in history, and have branched out into fictional universes.
Bit of context, Good guys: Empire (big hammer guy), dwarves, High Elves (short jokes), Kislev (polar bears), Cathay (Chinese inspired), Wood elves (big horn / Stags), Bwetonnia (Crusaders), Lizzies (dinosaurs), tomb kings (mummies) Bad guys: everyone else ! you should watch more of these so fun!
If you like the guns matching the music, I don't know if you've reacted to it but the Warhammer 2 trailer for "Curse of the Vampire Coast" has a great instance of that. It also has undead pirates singing a sea shanty.
If you want to know more about the diffrent Leaders i recommend Cody Bonds and his Noob Guide Videos for Total War Warhammer. He talks about thier Lore and a bit about how the play in the Game. They are also quite funny.
Yeah it was like a 400 year war that raged across the continent of the Old World. Basically the first Warhammer fantasy world war that doesn’t involve chaos. Well actually some chaos Daemon stuff does show up but it’s mostly elves and dwarfs going at it. 😂
The Dawi (dwarves) and the Elgi (Elves) were at war called the War of the Beard. This saw many casualties on both sides, the dwarves consider it a grudge against the elves and have an inbred animosity towards them. The elves on the other hand would like to forget that war and move on, but the dwarves society is built upon honour, oaths and grudges. This is a really simplified break down of their relations. GW took the idea from Tolkien Lord of the Rings.
the meaning of the trailer of the Immortal Empire is that the conditional "forces of good" (people of different factions / elves / gnomes / lizardmen) must unite against the "forces of evil" (demons and warriors of chaos, orcs, undead, dark elves, skaven)
Ogres are exactly what you would think they'd be - crude, warlike, and willing to eat any (and I mean *ANY*) kind of meat they can get their hands on. And they're just so darn happy to do it! They're almost as simple-minded as the Greenskins (the Orcs/Goblins), and are just all too happy to stuff themselves, enjoy a good fight, and sacrifice what they don't eat to their god, the Great Maw! It's that simplicity that is the charm of this otherwise gross faction!
On this trailer, prince Yuri was chasing general Yuri, that defected, and also looking to save one of his gods Ursun. But he picked up his cursed sword, so he too was getting corrupted. This is why his brother Gerig started looking at him with worry.
Warhammer 1,2, and 3 are all based on warhammer fantasy aka the fantasy version of warhammer, their somewhat controversial sequel is warhammer: age of Sigmar, warhammer 40k is a different series entirely set space obviously with a few similar elements to fantasy like the demons.
So, the two settings: Warhammer Fantasy is a fantasy world set on a single planet roughly inspired by Earth, filled with all of your common (and a few original) fantasy races. The "main" protagonist faction is the Empire, a nation of scrappy humans inspired by the real world Holy Roman Empire (the one that's now Germany and was neither holy, nor Roman, nor an empire) with roughly renaissance era technology (guns are only just becoming popular). The most original antagonist are the Four Gods of Chaos and all the varied corruption they bring. At some point people from the same company decided that it would be cool to have their ip IN SPACE. What started as a very simple conversion to scifi became the Warhammer 40k universe, where the grim and gritty elements of the fantasy setting were turned up to eleven. The holy empire became an insane fascist/theocratic space empire of all humans with a corpse god-emperor at its head. Many fantasy races became aliens that were all extreme in one way or another. A couple of extra aliens were added. And the Space Marines, initially a parody of ubermensch jackboot cops, became the unironic focus of most storytellers. The forces of Chaos remain the same, except with more guns and space ships, to the point that there's fan theories that the four gods are literally the same across both settings and that you can travel from one to the other through their realm..
7:24 "So (click) that's for you " Right after you love for the synchronization hahahahha gold moment 12:03 " Patch notes... ha. .. i know what that means" Hahahahha
Hey Hannah, essentially the thing with Chaos is that in small doses it sounds good, even great on paper. Khorne is the God of war and honor Tzeentch is the God of Progress and Magic Nurgle is the God of Nature and Slaanesh is the God(dess) of Perfection But the thing with the Chaos gods is that they don't want you to settle, they want you to push yourself further and further into chaos, perverting your once highly held ideals into something terrible
I'm playing Total War Warhammer 3 off and on right now, and it's a lot of fun. Games Workshop kind of blew up the old Warhammer fantasy world and rebooted it a few years back, but there were some really great series there. Gotrek and Felix was an ongoing series with a big following. It's about a dwarf with a death wish, and a poet that chronicles his stories have different adventures. I really liked the Nagash series, which is about how one of the series biggest villains came about and destroyed an Egyptian-style empire, and also how necromancy and undead creatures came into Warhammer. Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 both have the concept of Chaos as a malevolent demonic force in the world. And so, there are concepts and characters that overlap between the two, like the four gods of Chaos and their greater demons. For more information, consult your local Liber Daemonica.
Villains who believe they are right,or feel that they have been wrongfully, Punished, Are Basically Most Marvel "Villains " (you say Killmonger, I agree, but I also say Magneto) Great Channel 🙂👍
The short was meant like that. Tho this one elve in particular is very wise, all high elves still remain inherently arrogant. So even tho he knows it at all isn’t smart to say something like that he can’t keep himself from making these clever verbal jabs. The dwarf started by questioning if he even speaks for his people since he isn’t the main leader of their faction. The reason their leader(s) aren’t attending this meeting is because their homeland is already getting invaded by dark elves, which you can also see in the video. Same goes for kislev and cathay, since they are at the front line versus chaos. (You can also see this happening in the video.) But this is more known by the people attending the meeting. Also later in the video you see a legendary dwarf and one of the main leaders of the high elves fight side by side and looking grateful at each other to be fighting by one’s side. The storytelling in this is video is truly too much to go over everything and as you could probably already tell it’s beautifully done. Just know you’re looking at a masterpiece. One of the last to remain that haven’t been ruined by the wider public and has a lot of passionate players and fanatics.
Hooray! I just rewatched your other total war vids the other day! Also, Lore time! So Elsa is the Tsarina of Kislev, the Warhammer fantasy version of all eastern europe mashed together. They defend the world against constant demon invasions. And for the relatable villain thing, I get what you mean. Chaos corrupts, and there is little reason to ever side with them or ability to relate with them at all realistically. The big bad guy seen throughout the trailer with horns is Archaon, he's the chosen of all 4 chaos gods, so evil they all agreed he was the best fit. Oh, and at 4:16, thats a dark elf named Malekith, he has a very special relationship with his mother. very... close.
The Warhammer chaos faction "gods" are actually gods who represent both good and evil aspects. The actual story is one of people spiraling out of control into a spiral of negativity and self destruction. It is a story of taking any philosophy to extremes can create demonic hell like conditions. Very interesting setting.
If you’re planning on playing Warhammer 3 or want to learn more about the characters in it, there are a series of videos called “Noobs Guide” that humorously explains every character, the tropes around them and how to play them.
This is one of the greatest trailers of all time but it is created for people who are already fans of the series for years. Seeing all these characters big together in a single trailer is a cumlination of all those years playing the game. I can imagine this trailer must felt overwhelming and like it lacked the storytelling of other trailers, but in reality its a gift to the players who took this journey since 2016. Im really glad that you enjoyed it and I assure you that even after watching it ten times I still got shivers.
Total War is its own gaming franchise that borrows eras and IPs to make Total War games. I managed to grab a free copy of Total War:Troy from Epic Games and had fun marauding all of Hellos with my tribe of Amazons.
0:14 - Total War: Warhammer I through III are all set in Warhammer Fantasy. Warhammer Fantasy experienced the End Times and became Age of Sigmar. Dawn of War, Darktide, Space Marine, Inquisitor, etc, are all set in Warhammer 40,000/WH40K. Fantasy and 40K are completely different settings except for some of the concepts and names. Like Slaanesh, the Prince of Pleasure/She Who Thirsts, is in both settings but his/her origin is very different in each and personality is somewhat different. Ciaphas Cain is in Warhammer 40K, and yep, I did meet your gaze and say "right."
Alright, so let's see if I can try and explain this. Total War is a saga of games that are based on being a commander of an army. These have taken A LOT of historical time periods, some of the most popular ones being Total War: Shogun, Napoleonic Wars, Rome and Medieval. Meanwhile Warhammer is a fantasy setting war game (as in, a tabletop game and not a videogame) in a world were magic and things of the like exist freely. Then came Warhammer 40k which seeked to be the same style of game but on a space themed setting, but with time it begun to grow into it's own thing. So the company that makes the Total War games and that which owns the rights of Warhammer decided to unite both concepts into what we have here Total War: Warhammer (Or Total Warhammer which is much easier to say.)
As for who are they fighting. Basically the forces of evil. Beastmen, Greenskins, Northlanders and of course demons that are literally coming at them from all sides and while each nation is powerful in its own right, it's only a matter of time before they are overwhelmed hence why The Emperor (the guy with the hammer) made this proposal.
Don't even worry about what's going on in warhammer and how things fit together. The entire franchise is basically designed to create excuses for various races to fight each other. It doesn't have to make sense. Although usually you can kinda assume that the regular people are fighting against chaos or some other monsters.
Hey Hannah, great vid and if you want to see more good action synched to the music, check out the Vampire Coast trailer for Total Warhammer 2, along with the Ogre Kingdoms trailer, that's the best music trailers of the games. Also about the people you wanna know more about, those are wood elves (wutelgi in dwarvish), which are also one of my favourite races in the game. Theres 2 trailers for them (Wood Elves trailer of course and The Twisted and The Twilight trailer). They are very isolationist, they usually stay in their forests and if you come to them - well, they kill you for stepping on their lawn. In the game they are one of the strongest defensive factions in their magic forests and pretty much the definition of elite soldiers (even their trashiest units pretty much never flee for me, which is usually a huge issue with the low tier units you get at the start of a campaign). They excel at laying ambushes, fighting in forests and have the best archers and some of the best cavalry in the entire game.
btw a really good starting off point for getting into Warhammer Fantasy would be the Gotrek and Felix book series, which is far more of a traditional adventure story than most warhammer books are. A great read and the Audible editions read by the venerable Jonathan Keeble are delightful.
Ciaphas Cain! Hero of the Imperium! Read them a long time ago but I've been listening to the audiobooks as well recently. They do an amazing job with different readers to represent the different in-universe writers.
Those at 6:50 are the Elves known the Asraii or the wood elves who inhabit the enchanted forest of Athel Loren and alongside them are the Lizardmen of Lustria oldest of the races and guardians of the world.
the total war series is one of those games i play endlessly on the lowest difficulty because its simply fun to stomp the AI, or play it entirely differently than the devs intended. For Khorne!!⚔
Warhammer Ogres are cursed with magical hunger, they can eat anything and one of their rule books for the game had a little excerpt about how a wizard from the Empire dissected one to see how they ticked and pulled enough bones plus armour and horse barding out of the ogre's guts suggesting the Ogre had eaten the entire knight and his steed probably whole. I still remember the line that convinced me to make Ogre Kingdoms my Fantasy army back in the day. "An ogre loves his club, and will only eat it in the direst of circumstances."
I personally prefer Warhammer Fantasy over 40k. For one you can actually root for the human faction without them being straight up Nazis. Sure the empire of Sigmar isn´t perfect, but they´re more like the holy roman empire during the renaisance. Sure there is persecution and suffering within it. But they also celebrate arts and sciences whilst atleast trying to give their citizens a good life (unless you're a heretic of course). The Imperium in 40k is actually rather similar to the skaven in fantasy. Both sacrifice millions of their people daily for their ever growing industry fuelled only by war and death. Everyone that isn´t them will be objected to the most cruel treatment imaginable. All while the powerfull elite sheme and plot in service to their elusive god who may or may not even be there. Then you have the lizardmen, who just want to chill, build pyramids and shout BOK at people.
From my understanding Total War is the LOTR, D&D era of Warhammer in the past, while 40K is the future. Then you have a alternate universe were all races decided to play foot ball instead of have war.
@@HannaHsOverInvested lol its called Blood Bowl, and while it does limit the effect of the general population, its no less bloody than war lol. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fgxs7zcVf9g.html
Ciaphas Cain? I have read all the books unless they published a new one in the last few years. I love how the author plays Cain off as either he really is a coward, OR the imposter syndrome makes him under-estimate himself. And of course the real hero is poor sweaty Jurgen who is always saving Cain....if Amberley is not there to save them all.
in the trailer you have a great alliance between the different races to fight evil, when you play the game it's not the same in the first rounds all the factions declare war on you directly just to piss you off ;D
When you talk about having trouble to understand the other side, especially with chaos it is about slow corruption, like how it is hinted at here with the sons of Kislev, to save his people one Brother decides to take up that (in my opinion quite obvious) nono-sword) to save his people. I agree with you comparison to lord of the rings, quite similar as with boromir who also wanted to use the ring for the good of his people but the power is corrupting, same as with the brother in this trailer and that sword he slowly turns more bloodthirsty and evil and in the end loses sight of the very reason he picked up the nono sword, I believe those or similar stories lie behind most of the evil (chaos) characters in warhammer (just that many of those stories are not allways directly shown), as the saying goes: The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
There's one Warhammer related video I think you would like. It's a book series. Gotrek and Felix: Warhammer's Greatest Heroes and Biggest Nobodies by PancreasNoWork He doesn't reveal anything major, but there's gonna be some light spoilers.
Warhammer (original, not 40K) is set on a planet that has a lot of similarities to earth. For example, Kislev is the equivalent of our Kiev, and is basically what earth Ukrainians would have been if the giant bear god that teaches ice magic is real.
What you mentioned about Chaos and how they are one-note evil for evil's sake is, in my opinion, one of the big flaws in warhammer but specifically 40k. The Imperium is so messed up that the faction that rebels against it should be able to seem appealing at least on the surface. But it feels like GW is just stuck in the 80's era lore of Chaos being cartoonishly evil foils to the He-Men of the Imperium.
Hannah and Bricky sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. Jokes aside I do recommend watching the History of Total War, it's a fun lil video that will increase your IQ, so you can feel snooty when you post about the game on Reddit or whatever. You also need to be on Prozac or something to play those games, the amount of detail and micromanaging required is ridiculous, as a little boy of 7 years old playing Total War: Rome, back in the day, I had no idea what I was doing, but watching my virtual toy soldiers fight was fun!
So Total War is a strategy game series that tends to take on different themes for each game. Originally these were historical, samurai, knight, napoleon etc. But lately most have been this trilogy of Warhammer games. Warhammer Fantasy and 40K started both as you know as tabletop games. Fantasy heavily relies on pulp fantasy of the 80s and 40K takes an equally silly grimdark look at sci-fi. While never officially connected for decades a popular fan theory was Fantasy was essentially a isolated planet in 40K with primitive technology. But it seems Games Workshop is actively moving away from that in newer writing. But the share races like the fungal orcs, gods like chaos and have a lot of mirrors in factions. Eldar are high elves, Drukari are Dark Elves, Empire of Man is… you know. Still they’re not copies. But that’s in short how this all fits together. The makers of Total War license the Warhammer Fantasy setting for a trilogy of games. Essentially each game with expansions give you 1/3 of the main factions. Together you can play all, the first trailer celebrates that event.
you got Warhammer 40k which is the space setting and Fantasy which is the one you just watched. they are not in the same universe and share no relation but have similarities due to the fact that the creators used the same concept of chaos and some of the races for each setting. The first trailer you watched shows how everyone needs to band together as the tide of evil has reached its breaking point and it is the end times. The end times does indeed come to pass and was the end of the fantasy setting sadly, which was years ago and the writing for end times was pretty terrible but they felt like the series was not profitable enough to continue.
Warhammer 40K and Warhammer Fantasy don't fit together, technically, although there is overlap. Games Workshop originally made miniature lines of both sci-fi and fantasy models, and crafted games and rulesets around them, later forming into their own fully fleshed-out settings. There are many similarities, most notably the Warp (Chaos, the 4 gods, and all that) which is basically identical in both (the models used for daemon armies in both settings are exactly the same) but otherwise, they are very distinct settings and games. The very similar names led many newcomers or interested parties to feel confused and overwhelmed though. This is also why, among game mechanics and popularity reasons, they eventually moved away from Warhammer Fantasy, discontinuing it as a game and introducing Age of Sigmar, a game that uses te Fantasy models whilst being less likely to be confused with Warhammer 40K. These Total War games however, are set in the now unused Warhammer Fantasy setting and have been instrumental in showing GW that they were too hasty with the dissolution of their Warhammer Fantasy setting, which is now in the works of being remade under the title The Old World now they have evidence that people really enjoy the setting.
so the other side of Khorn, is a certain Honor. sure he's the blood god, the god of fire and blood. but, he believes in strength, if you work for it, if you go and Get It. then you've earned it. which for those in a feudal medival society. for the average guy would be tempting. and by the time it's gotten to someone having a half dozen skulls on their belt and flaying people with fire.. well they're pretty far gone at that point and corrupted.
Sometimes it’s just fun to be the bad guys. But I highly recommend total war three kingdoms for your next reaction. The trailers are great and it’s about the Romance of the three kingdoms
6:50 Those are the Wood Elves! One of the coolest factions in Warhammer. I'd suggest checking out the Twisted and the Twilight trailers to get a better look at them!
9:46 I like being told I’m tall. I’m 6ft and not actually super tall, so it’s a nice complement every once in a while… don’t get too many of those over the years.
cain is a good series, i'm sure you've already been recommended it but gaunt's ghosts is another good one for a... rational human perspective in the 40k setting, and it's even fairly optimistic at points
Ogres are amazingly funny as their whole culture is centered around how fat you are and they LOVE eating anything and everything, including their gnoblar servants
@Hannah. If you want to know more about Warhammer Fantasy - witch is the Tabletop Total War Warhamer is based on - you shoul check out the lore Videos of "The Book of Choyer" in my opinion.
so something on the villain portrayals, in a lot of the stories for warhammer you have to keep in mind that the narrator or view is always biased especially when it comes to 40k. unfortunately you only really find the other side of these factions and characters when you read the codex/army book for that faction, your still gonna get one dimensional stuff like daemons, skaven, tyranids, and orks but you can find some interesting stories on how the other factions interact when it isnt a view from the Imperial or human point of view. Also idk if you would like it but its one of my favorite warhammer fantasy series is the Gotrek & Felix novels, to summarize its about a dwarf slayer seeking a worthy doom and his human companion Felix who has pledged to witness it and record his doom in a epic poem. Love your videos!
there are 2 warhammers, the vidéos you see is warhammer (medevial fantasy stuff) and warhammer 40K is the universe but 40K years later (spaceopera stuff)
Has Hannah seen the TW:WH2 DLC trailers??? Those are among some of the best Creative Assembly has made for the Total War games, the Vampire Coast trailer, the Hunter and the Beast, the Tomb Kings trailers, those three are beautiful. Oh, and also the Total War Shogun 2 launch trailer.
HannaH, I'm glad that you have managed to sponsors this quick but be careful about which one you'd actually like to sponsor, since some sponsors have been recently been malicious and getting RU-vidrs in trouble including these VPNs ones. 👍
If you want to see more of this fantasy world then you should listen to Gotrek and Felix on audible. In my opinion it’s a better series then Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings.👍
History of total war yes yes yes , feel how the power of total war consumes you. P.S Warhammer 40 k gods are almost same as here in warhammer fantasy. SO every evil has different sides and also not all good guys are normal good
Just had to pop in to say you're giving Teclis (the Elf who made the "short-sighted" comment too much credit. Or maybe not enough depending on how you look at it... Without getting too deep, basically the guy can't help himself from slighting Dwarfs at any opportunity and it is well within character for him to make what would seem to the others an innocuous comment whilst knowing full well that the High King would take grievous offence to it. So he gets to insult the High King to his face whilst making the Dwarfs look bad for being so offended at what others might assume to be an innocent slip of the tongue.
Dwars and Elf fight bloody conflict 4000 years before the courrent time line ( an elf usually can live arround 1000 year and a Dwar 400 years) for almost 300 years...Dwars keep track of every act of fellony made to their ancestors in the Great Book of Grudge ( It would be like if today an afro-american person hate and despise a pourtughese person because their ancestors where drag to America in chain by pourtughe mercants 300 years before). Ogres are bigger human with low intellectual abilities...They are so violent and hungry due to an supernaural metorite tha almost wipe out them and change their mind forever.... Togheter with Tomb Kings they were my favourite faction because they are not evil or good....but neutral.
