BTS has cultivated a HUGE discography in their 11 years since debut. They are known as musical chameleons due to the diverse vibes of the different members. They have a song for practically every mood, emotion, or style you're looking for. And that's just the music content. They also have a variety show (that they started way back in the day after regular shows disrespected them for not being important enough). There's also the story line that includes short films, webtoons, books, etc. Not to mention countless behind-the-scenes videos. They are responsible for a majority of the trends you'll see in kpop content-type on RU-vid. For next songs: - Fake Love - Fire - Airplane Pt 2 - ON Kinetic Manifesto - Black Swan

o my goodness! my time has come XD If you're going to react to BTS my recommendation is to react to the videos of the songs and also to their concert versions, because if there's one thing these guys do, it's give amazing concerts. Now, for song recommendation, I always recommend to watch first the ones that were more famous in this side of the world, like: -Dynamite, Boy with love, Butter and Fake Love Then I would follow -DNA, Run, Black Swan, IDOL, ON - Fier, is without a doubt a song that you need to see in concert. I could go on and on, because they have amazing songs and not only as a group! they themselves have solo careers with their own songs and their own styles. I can't wait to see what other song you react to!

Hi, 51 year old ARMY (BTS fandom name) from UK. I grew up as a rock and metalhead. BTS found me in Sept 2020 and I cannot believe how amazing they are. Apart from their 3 fully English songs (Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance) their songs have deep, meaningful lyrics. They all write, compose and produce. They all have very diiferent styles, all equally talented, but together are out of this world. Their videos are really detailed, every little thing means something. Their company (Big Hit Entertainment, now Hybe) was very small when they started, and the successful groups only came from the 3 biggest companies. Those companies have a lot of money to pay for airtime to promote their groups through the media. So BTS were constantly told they would fail. RM, the leader of BTS (like a sports team captain role) saw Obama's mic drop speech and it inspired this song. BTS have faced a huge amount of hate and still do. Everything they do and say is picked apart , hence the interrogation room scene, all the cameras, and mics. The people wearing black hoodies are their haters. They felt like they were constantly interrogated and people try to label them as a specific box, similar to being imprisoned. There is a scene where RM says "Mic Drop, Bam" and finger gun shoots, all the hooded figures drop as if killed. The explosion scene you noticed things in the sky but did you notice they were burning bodies. They roast their haters with their savage words on the mic. I love it when they are savage. Watch the Cyphers Parts 1 to 4. If you like rock i think you would like their song Fake Love and their "Yet to Come" concert on Busan 2022. They open with Mic Drop. If you watch live performances, I would check the channel, Enjoy BTS More. She has really high quality videos with accurate English subs. Live, they are even better and they do all the choreo while singing/rapping, no lip synching. If the choreo is too hard for them to sing at the same time they let the backing track take over but don't pretend to be singing. ARMY know they are authentic. Please enjoy the journey diwn the rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed. Subscribing and waiting for more BTS. Borahae 💜

The bag currently contains about 1,000 trophies/awards. The concert version of Mic Drop is more rock than EDM. This video is from 2017, so they were in their early to mid 20s. Two of them are now 31 and the youngest is 26. They’re all currently doing their mandatory military service (one in civil service because of an old shoulder injury). We need to give you some BTS whiplash, for a taste of just how diverse and deep they are, so check out Black Swan, ON Kinetic Manifesto, Festa Room Live 2021 (a medley), The Truth Untold, House of Cards, Danger, I Need U, and Idol. This barely scratches the surface and doesn’t even touch on their equally impressive solo work. Their discography is huge, diverse and has literally NO ‘fillers’. They are incredible live. I’m a 66 year old Brit. I started listening to music when the Beatles were still together and grew up on rock and indie music. I’ve never felt such a connection with a music group as I do with BTS. They’re delightful, intelligent, supremely talented and humble human beings.

I'm in my early 60s and just recently discovered BTS in the last year. They are most definitely not a stereotypical boy band, which is why I am now a massive fan (Army). What I love is that their music covers so many genres, they produce and write their own stuff and their lyrics are meaningful; they write about social injustice, mental health, societal expectations etc. There are 3 rappers, 4 vocal line and they are all great dancers; they even have members who have backgrounds in street and contemporary dance. Some suggestions to watch to get an understanding of the breadth of their skills and the music they produce are: Black Swan; On Kinetic Manifesto; Fake Love; Blood Sweat & Tears; Dope; Baepsae (Silver Spoon); Save Me. There are so many more, but also watch some of the live performances like MMAs 2019 and MMAs 2018. If you want to get more of an understanding of who they are, there are videos made by Army about them and how they formed etc. I think Taylor Mari or xCeleste have both made great information videos about them, which are extremely interesting and provide more understanding and depth.

45 year old fan here -- I initially resisted listening to these guys five years ago because I figured they were fluff, but I was SO wrong. After falling into their rabbit hole, I've checked out out other groups, but none do it for me like they do. Probably because BTS were the game-changers in the kpop world. They upended what fans could expect from artists and they upended when artists could expect from their companies (read, better treatment than the slave contracts many kpop idols operate under). Above all else, they upped the game by simply being authentic and honest. There is a joke now with younger groups coming up that BTS set the standards too high and it is exhausting to even think about trying to replicate. For the next song, maybe check out Fake Love. It's part of their story line, so some of the imagery might not make sense, but it is pretty visually stunning made with practical stunts -- just like the explosion in Mic Drop.

BTS are uncontested kings. Their heavy involvement in the creation of their own music has resulted in a very eclectic mix of genres, sounds, concepts, and lyrics that resonate deeper because it's coming from them and not songwriters you never see. That said, they have their share of songs that were outsourced (their full English songs) that have merit as lighthearted bops. If you like rock, you might enjoy "Run BTS" (a title easily confused with their variety show by the same name and an earlier song in their discography just called Run. I swear they did that on purpose just to mess with people), "Dionysus", "Fake Love" (rock remix, which also has its own MV). Many of their live performances actually change the original instrumental to something more rock-based, so even their non-rock songs have rock versions. I personally fell in love with their dancing first, back in 2016. I'd never seen a "boyband" dance like that and I thought they were a dance group doing a cover to someone else's song. "Save Me" was the first song I heard/watched, stumbling across it on RU-vid. It's a one-take MV and the behind the scenes footage is very fun to watch too. Then "Blood, Sweat, and Tears", and I wished I was back in college so I could find an excuse to write a paper deconstructing and analyzing the themes and concepts behind the MV and lyrics and the book its based on. The only music I listened to prior to BTS was 90s rock growing up, whatever someone had on their car radio, or whatever I heard on TV. I was definitely not a music person. I knew of the most famous western artists like Beyonce because of social media and such, but I never sought out anyone's music on my own. BTS was genuinely the very first time I actively sought out music, rather than passively consuming whatever pop culture put in front of me. I never understood why people made playlists until BTS. Fans are eagerly awaiting the completion of their military service. BTS prepared songs and content for fans ahead of time, and have been steadily releasing despite their absence from the public eye. If you explore more of BTS, you will not be disappointed. There are also other amazingly talented kpop groups. (G)-Idle, Mamamoo, Ateez, TXT.

I'm also a metalhead and BTS has made me believe with incredible talent, comes great music & great performance. MY PERSONAL OPINION: I think a majority of KPOP is bubble gum. It's fun, and even BTS has produced some bubblegum songs. If korean groups aren't doing KPOP, they're doing their best to be like, or to copy BTS. The business is trying so hard, to be the next BTS. It's fascinating to watch. 7 BTS members, with so much individual talent, in this one group. BTS writes and produces a good majority of their own music. Before BTS, the BIG 3 Music companies controlled all aspects of a KPOP groups career. The reason why BTS wrote most of their own music from the beginning. There were several powers at work. 1. Bang, the head of Big Hit, wanted them to express themselves, without outside influences. BANG also helped write & produce first songs) 2. The Company that BTS had signed up with, was in financial trouble and there was no money for songwriters. Bang, put together 7 people who; (several BTS members could already write & produce) the others could or learn to write & produce. They could Sing, Dance, Rap. They play guitar & Piano. They have members who can play saxophone, trumpet & violin, drums. Now, they can do this all, plus more. I hope you will continue to watch BTS. If you need any advice, ARMY will point you in the right direction.

PD Bang was a well respected songwriter in the industry himself and he actually left JYP to set up BigHit. As I understand it, he actually did most of the songwriting at the start. And BigHit went through 30 people before they settled on the 7 that would eventually become BTS. One of them was Supreme Boi who decided that he didn't want to become an idol so BigHit kept him on as a writer & producer instead. He can be seen & heard in the Cypher medley live.

Bang PD and his team (of which most are still in the company) gave freedom in different aspects to the guys, although they did not leave them alone. They tried to encourage and train them to become what they are; the only thing that was asked of them from the beginning was that their music made sense, that it expressed what they wanted, which did not happen at that time in the industry, few idols participated in the creative thing since the companies were the ones that took care of everything; on the other hand, in the BTS company they were pushed until they all participated in composition, writing and production (and even in other aspects). When none of the guys participate in the creative part of a song, it means that it fulfills what they wanted to offer in terms of message, lyrics or music and they liked it as it was. Even among themselves they decide the parts they sing based on their voices and styles.

0:28 Well, my first K-pop group was BTS and although I have checked out other groups I didn't find the same depth and feeling of authenticity in any of them. I mean, their song Epiphany live *very literally* saved my life! 🥺 And yes, they're very much personally involved with their music, both as soloists and within the group. Plus they don't stick to a specific genre but do anything from neo-soul to Latin pop to rock to battle-style rap so there's always something to fit any mood. BTS often writes about very serious issues like mental health problems, socioeconomic issues and personal development. They'll use imagery from Jungian psychology, Greek mythology, astronomy, the Bible, classical literature and even marine biology to illustrate a subject. I've been around since the 1970s and I've honestly never come across a group of this lyrical calibre before. You just happened to choose one of their diss tracks. 😎 They're the perfect underdog story and they've definitely earned the right to make diss tracks. They came from a tiny, financially struggling agency and fought their way to the absolute top despite ridicule, threats, sabotage, racism and just about any other hardships you can think of. Despite all of that they're still some of the most down to earth, caring, giving and funniest people ever. They've cultivated a fandom that's loyal, protective and philanthropic and spans all ages 1-99, genders, nationalities, faiths and social and musical backgrounds; a fandom of almost 15 million official fanclub members (including me 😁) and many millions more non-members. For a bit of size context: BTS IS 0.4% of the South Korean GDP, one concert of theirs brought as many foreigners to the country as the entire Olympics did and they alone are the size of the 10 next-biggest kpop groups combined! And seing as you're a Brit: They sold out Wembley Stadium in 1.5 hours - two days in a row! 🤯 Now, if you want to take a look at BTS and K-pop I want to give you a few hopefully helpful tips: *For BTS:* - If you want subtitles on their older songs you need to get them from the RU-vid channel *1theK.* It wasn't until later they started their current channels and they didn't bother putting subtitles on the oldest stuff. It's just as safe and legit to react to. - Always assume they did it IRL. They only ever use green screen in their MVs if it can't be built. - Lyrics are very important when it comes to BTS. A great way to fully understand them (especially for us westerners 😅) is the fandom go-to site Doolsetbangtan where they include short cultural and/or contextual notes where needed. - The best guide to the group IMO is Taylor Mari's Intro To BTS: The Bangtan 7. Combine it with xCeleste's video BTS Hardships 2013-2021 to get the full picture. 😢 - A good channel for live content with eng subs is Enjoy BTS More. - For great video essays on their problems with the music industry go to the channel Boracity Magazine. Also great but infuriating insight into the music industry as a whole. - We as a fandom have a problem with antis/haters claiming to be ARMYs and trying to discredit BTS and ARMY by behaving horribly, especially toward K-pop newcomers to deter them from reacting to BTS. Every fandom inevitably has a few rotten apples and ARMY is no exception but it's something to please keep in mind... 🥺 *For K-pop in general:* - Don't liken/compare groups to each other or western artists; their fandoms won't like it. ("Oh, so they're like the Korean Backstreet Boys." etc. 💀) - Honest critique is totally welcome as long as it's respectful. - Don't try to recognise anyone by their hair colours; they change constantly! 😅 Just accept that no matter the group, it'll take some time to know who's who. Especially since some groups have a lot of members. - All groups have their own light stick (BTS's is called an ARMY Bomb). At concerts they're synced to your seat number via Bluetooth and they can then make giant words, symbols and light shows all across the venue. - Some groups have a lore or fictional storyline that runs through their songs/MVs so you might find the imagery confusing. It'll usually say so in the MV's description text (for BTS for example it'll say BU (Bangtan Universe) Content) if that's the case. - Ask if you're in doubt about anything. The respective fandoms are more than happy to tell you what you want to know (and then some 😂). *Some groups I'd personally recommend besides BTS* are TXT (0X1=Lovesong, Good Boy Gone Bad and Sugar Rush Ride), female soloist IU (Love Wins All), Stray Kids (God's Menu) and Mamamoo (Dècalcomanie). *Last but not least:* Welcome to the wonderful world of K-pop. It's a lot to take in at first but totally worth it. Do things at your own pace, have fun with it and sorry for the long rant. 👋😅 ~ a Danish ARMY, age 48 💜 (Btw, ARMY is an acronym for Adorable Representatives MC for Youth. Doesn't sound quite as daunting now, does it?! 😉)

My first kpop group I listened to was Big Bang. They where the big group before BTS debut. They where the Kings of Kpop before Exo and BTS. I really started following BTS in 2015 during their Dark&Wild album. I honestly people should watch BTS from their debut to now. It shows how much they have grown and changed their styles through the years. If you haven't watched them yet, you should get out the fan-made Doc called The Rise of Bangtan. BTS write, produce and compose basically all their own music.

2:52 they are the most humble, down to earth artists and people overall i've known of tbh, this song and the rest of their "diss tracks" are in response to the insane amount of backlash and hate they've had to suffer through the years from the public, their peers, their seniors, the industry... boy these guys have gone through a lot. Makes me happy when they flex a bit like yes baby you're korea's most awarded act in all time go tell them off a bit you deserve it

Hello! Fellow metalhead here. BTS are legends for a reason. This song is obviously a flex to the haters. I'm glad you liked it, it's a BANGER! They have many MANY different genres under their belts. The group has 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. Each member has their own body of solo work as well. Please dive in and take a look. Their catalogue is VAST! The youngest member is 26 and the oldest is 31 so they aren't kids anymore. This video is from 7 years ago. BTS has been around since 2013 and started originally as hip-hop group and have evolved their style over the years. They write 98% of their songs and they all produce as well. SUGA has even won awards for producing songs for other artists. They are one of the most awarded artists of all time. And when you dive in, you will see why. :) Looking forward to following your journey!

For a beautiful song by the four main vocalists check out the "Truth Untold" Live their voices are so beautiful. Or if you want to check out the rap line of BTS I highly recommend "Outro Tear" Live absolutely amazing. And my other recommendations would be "Black Swan" and definitely "Fake Love" I'm definitely here for it BTS Are a phenomenal group you will see as you delve deeper the many layers they have to their music and dance. They got a lot of hate from the local HipHop/Rap for becoming idols. They picked on some of their looks not being handsome enough. Big Hit (now Hybe) was much smaller at the time, so they would be bumped from performances on local shows. This was in reply to all of that. The first version had more Korean in it. The gentleman working the board is Steve Aoki, he is a DJ and music producer, he produced the remix. I am 68 and I became a fan in 2021. I was able to see the full group in 2022, and saw AgustD/Suga's concert last year. They have music in every genre. I recommend watch Festa Room 2021. they do snippets of songs from each of their albums. It gives you an idea of their music and their progression. If you have Prime watch the Busan concert. They also write most of their songs, so they have songs that touch on mental illness, prejudice (racial and LGTBQ+), loving yourself, working in the music industry and some just bangers. They also have a song about 52 htz whale and one about Pluto. I watch 2 other metal heads reactions, and both are fans now. They have spoken at the UN and even performed a song there. Worked with Unicef on the Love Myself campaign. And if you watch any interviews, while they acknowledge their stardom, they are humble, fun, down to earth guys. Welcome aboard!

In the video, it's a press conference but they're inside an interrogation cell. They transition to a prison then at the end they break out. Basically BTS used to get a lot of hate, they were often accused of many things, and people wanted them to stay in the kpop "box". This song was their goodbye to their haters because they succeeded against all the allegations of them being nobodies who couldn't amount to anything.

Their ages in this music video ranged from 20- 24 (since this music video was from over 6 years ago), but currently their ages range from 26- 31. BTS has been a group for over 10 years now and they have over 300 songs covering a variety of genres and subject matter. Honestly the kpop category is just too limiting of a title for them. Right now all 7 members of BTS are fulfilling their mandatory military service in South Korea (military service is mandatory for all able bodied men in South Korea for a minimum of 18 months, yes even male celebrities have to serve). 2 members of BTS get discharged this year and the other 5 members will be discharged in June 2025. But before they enlisted they all released solo albums (except for Jin) who will probably release his album later this year. And we are actually still getting new music even with them in the military, they keep us well fed.

This is one big FU to their haters. Before this mv came out, BTS had been getting a lot of hate from the hard core rap community in Korea. BTS started as a hard core rap group, then expanded their range to include pop songs, which is when they blew up. But the Korean rap community felt BTS sold out and turned their backs on the rap culture and began publicly attacking BTS.

They would’ve been 19-24ish in this video, but they’re 26-31ish now. Always have subtitles on & pause a bit at the end as just when you think the video is over it's not. Most BTS songs have deep meanings & some link together. BTS members are all multi-talented, yet remain humble. They absolutely love their fans (called ARMY), who are ALL ages, ranging from 5-90 in our family! They aren't one genre, they cover multiple genres. BTS consists of 3 rappers & 4 vocalists. They're singing & dancing are always on point. RM (BTS's leader) said about this song - 'Based on what I read or what fans told us “when people criticize you guys without a reason and make fun of you, what should I do?” Our fans told us such things a lot. I think I have to listen to criticism more carefully but when people behave rude and threaten others - you can think of “MIC DROP” in that case.' They are extremely humble but they have received a lot of unreasonable hate over the years. This song is more than a clap-back at haters. It is their support to fans who felt upset and helpless about all that hate.

A great contrast to Mic Drop that will give you an idea of the depth of their artistry and range is Black Swan. I think Mic Drop & Black Swan set of starter bookends that show how much they have to offer and that they can’t be defined by boxes or labels. They have poppy, boppy songs and they are great. They have hard hitting songs, political songs, Jungian philosophy inspired songs and even three English songs they gifted the world with during COVID to keep hope & happiness alive. There’s a great collab with Coldplay and so much incredible solo work. They have behind the scenes for most videos, tv shows (Run BTS) from Korea, live concert and award show performances. It’s a deep, deep well full of fun, surprises, hard work, talent, determination and a lot more intelligence (both emotional and intellectual) than people expect from a group (not a boy band, a tight group of talented writers & musicians). A song like Spring Day and what inspired it is emotional, beautiful and one of those surprises we find when we’re new that show us just how deep and committed these sometimes goofy and always fun seven truly are.

I subbed fast after stumbling upon a new reactor to BTS!! (especially one who looks around the same age as me.) I've been an Army for about 3 years now and cannot recommend the BTS rabbit hole enough. Their discography as a band as so expansive and impressive. They cover so many genres and are so much more than "kpop". And then there are also the solo projects that are really great as well. I'd recommend watching some introductory videos to learn about the group. Buckle up, bc discovering BTS and really immersing yourself is a fantastic experience. Army will be right here to go along with you on your journey and try to help guide you as much as possible. Since most of BTS are doing their mandatory service enlistment until 2025 this is how we keep going in the interim, just watching new reactions to the music we love. It's what we NEED!! The basic recommendation to watch more BTS are: Black Swan, ON: Kinetic Manifesto Come Prima, Spring Day, BTS Tiny Desk, FESTA Room Live. You'll see how diverse their musical genre is, so they are not just "Kpop" or your usual type of "boyband". Just a fun fact: Spring Day has never left the chart since it's release (7 yrs ago), and it will go up with every new BTS releases. Our queen. You'll be even more amazed if you listen to each member's solo projects, because they are so different from each other. And each broke the charts with their solo projects, as well as a group. So when they are together, it's a total powerhouse. And in real life, their strong and loving brotherhood is very lovely to watch. These guys are amazing human beings. 👍💜

Hi, I am back. Good reaction. ty. They are 26yo-31yo. The youngest will be 27 this year and the oldest will be 31 in Dec. Mic Drop: It's a slap in the face for their haters by saying they're at a point where it doesn't matter what you say because your words don't matter anymore. It's also a flex song by pointing out how many trophies they have because at this point they'd need a U-Haul to get them all. Just for an example, in Korea there are weekly music shows by various stations and the winner gets a trophy. Dynamite has 36 (I think) award show wins and that's without any promotion on their end. Fun fact: Mic Drop was inspired by President Obama's mic drop when he left office. =0] They added a dance break to this choreo. There is a practice video for that. And they have performed this song with the new choreo for a while now. I saw another live with it. It is a perfect addition to the original choreo though they just made it harder as usual. =0p So glad u loved this song like I do. Jhope starts us off. He is the 3rd rapper in the group. Hugs. Stay safe. Love u both! -NY USA 2019 Army💟 Imajin all the purple said on 2/17/22 - Fun fact: When Suga drops the mic live it's an extra fake mic and Jin taps his mic for the sound. 🤭 - This is from the famously fandom-nicknamed "Dior performance". Their outfits were specially created for each of them for this tour by one of Dior's youngest, hippest designers, Kim Jones who really likes them. - I can't wait for you to dive further into the rap line... Mic Drop is sort of the 5th Cypher which is why they say "the last farewell". They were just done with addressing the haters. 😏😎 - The Dior Performance of Outro: Tear is a rap line must. The song is from when they thought about disbanding and their emotions really show. 💔 @ChocoCastle06 said on 6/6/23 fun fact, in some live performances, SUGA drops a fake mic(bc it would be crazy to drop their customized mic actually) and Jin hits his mic to create the sound of a mic dropping. @dahliapatricia750 said on 6/6/23 The mic drop song has 6 versions 1st version (Korean version Original) 2nd version (Japanese Version) 3rd version (ft. I was a metalhead as well & loved punk , pop punk, & alt music, & my 1st concert was ratt & bon jovi & motley crue was my 2nd concert. Also saw BTS in concert in 2021 as well, & let me tell you BTS put western artists to shame on stage, and most other ways for that matter lol 😂 My 1st kpop song was probably stuff no one really knows lol...my late husband & i lived in korea from 93-94, & kpop was only invented in 1992. I'd club a lot so id hear kpop songs i didnt know the name of but really liked a lot of the groups like seo taiji, roora & lesser known groups. I mostly forgot about kpop for decades after we came back state side. The next song i heard was bang bang bang by the group big bang, though i never looked into them or looked up other songs of theirs. Now I like a lot of kpop but because i really care about meaningful lyrics, BTS is my ultimate, all time fave group. Back in 2018 a BTS song called idol was on my late husband's recommended on RU-vid & because we lived there he thought id be interested. Man if you continue your BTS journey and you watch that mv, imagine if that was your introduction to them 😂 theres a lot going on in that mv and it was actually too overstimulating for me at 1st. But i kept going back to it. Then a bunch of other songs by them started being recommended and i fell hard. Theyre an amazing group and i subbed hoping youll continue to explore them. Im about to go watch your reaction to On & I'll probably leave more comments there lol 💜
