Notes: Get dopamine 1. "Make life as fun as possible" - music, reward on finishing small things, cross off, yoga, exercise - "Challenge". 2. "always work with your brain" - be smart in making choices and complete tasks, rather than holding slowly onto tasks. approach differently. walk, dance, exercise, game. "Dopamine Switching" - brain, then fun, then brain then fun. 3. "Accommodate yourself" - from additive habits by using fidgets, sensory tapes, push ups, etc. 4. "Use ur environment as much as possible" (changing our state) - music dance, "change the place", showers. 5. "constraints suck butt they rock" - use timers n take breaks, finish off. else overuse of time. use productive apps.

I buy 3-4 different scents of dish soap so I can Alternate Scents and it feels more fun to do the dishes,🤣 I am very Scent-stimulated.

As someone who loves Ali, I can say that after spending probably 50 to 100 hours watching his videos (idk I’m time blind) i learned that Vyvanse and ADHD focused therapy is the key to productivity. Again, I absolutely love Ali. Unfortunately my brain uses his videos to get excited about being productive instead of actually learning to be productive.

This. So true 😭 he’s great and all but… ADHD is a whole different story.

Loved the note with "*get up, *exist, *sleep" made me laugh. I've had many times in my life where that was the list i had ( just in my head ) so far and since I've started on meds (vyvanse, only recently diagnosed aswell) im getting back to doing stuff that needs doing and having the motivation to do what i need to get done . Im hoping ill keep going well on this path. Im just grateful for every day i have motivation and a better outlook . (Suffered with chronic anxiety and depression for 9 years now since was diagnosed with that and had some really long periods of feeling really really down where i was close to "checking out") anyway sorry for the long comment .

You know i don't know how you can be 10000% relating but it is hard living with it
@AntoniasUniverse

There's really no sugarcoating it, no matter what options and strategies we use.. it still fundamentally sucks 😖 The silver lining is that we relate SO MUCH, we're practically one hive mind, and we have each other!

somehow came back here after a recent video, makes much more sense, pretty sure these tips make less sense to neuro typicals. these are life savers. some of these - I've already been following it in different ways without realizing it.
@AntoniasUniverse
@AntoniasUniverse 8 месяцев назад
Thank you so much for the feedback! I was worried this video might be too "basic" or "strange" for exactly this reason... But neurotypicals share their advice with us all the time and it famously doesn't work anyway. So who cares? We deserve to do things our way without shame or judgement - what matters is it works for us and our mental health is preserved. ☺️ Wishing you a lovely day!

ADHD is a terrible condition. Here are some hacks that work for a few days for me (from time to time): 1. POMODORO app - tick - tick - tick - tick … WHILE WORKING 2. LOUD WHITE NOISE (test lot of noises, some will work) 3. NEVER STOP: work - fun - work - fun - work - fun … ♾ 4. EASY TASKS FIRST (like in a video game, level-up, not down) 5. have more workplaces and SWITCH them often 6. turn exercise into fun and have this FUN as often as possible 7. OVERDOSE WITH B3 VITAMINS (250mg 5 times / day) it may work as a placebo too 8. no processed food, no pastry, drink water only, sugar just as a WHOLE fruit 9. rebuild your second brain (notion.so) OFTEN 10. DELETE files and THROW stuff OUT 11. use incense sticks, candles, scents ... to calm your senses 12. try cold shower and only then enjoy warm shower ... as a reward for that torture (cold shower = dopamine) 13. have small note papers EVERYWHERE and write NOTES immediately when you need to store any important information 14. stick to intermitent fasting (in order to avoid frequent eating - get dopamine from exercise instead from frequent eating!) 15. the only real TIME is NOW (forget “past” and forget “future” - these are just an artificial constructs)

I started listening to audiobooks while I do my chores. Now, the chores moment is a happy moment because is fantasy fiction time.

@@AntoniasUniverse I only started taking medication for adhd 2 months ago but this hack worked even without medication. The advice came from my psychologist since I used to lose a ton of time doing my chores while binge-watching TV shows and movies (yes, cooking and cleaning while keeping my eyes on phone to watch, not a very good idea, of course); because of course every 2 minutes I forgot I was doing something and just kept staring at my phone. She suggested that I listen to audiobooks because I told her I CANT do my tasks while only listening to my thoughts. That was the BEST advice of my LIFE; it improved my concentration, housework, English, and other areas. A plus, Im am almost getting a job as a interpreter because my english skills really flourished after listening to audiobooks nonstop for almost 2 years (Im a portuguese native speaker from Brazil). Love my psychologist 💌

found this video very informative, Upbeet, and a hopeful. Your voice, calm and soothing, Drew and held my attention quite easily. But then, I don’t have a DHD. I am looking at videos to share with my granddaughter, who has been diagnosed. Thank you for the work you do in sharing these RU-vid videos with the world. Thank you for all your great ideas! Do you have experience and finding different meditation/mindfulness techniques that can be incorporated for the benefit of The precious ADHD Brain?❤☮️☮️

Thank you so much for your sweet comment and thank you for being such a good grandmother and researching for your granddaughter! You are amazing! I have tried mindfulness and meditation for a long time, but it is incredibly hard (in my experience) to use them in the way that others do. Walking meditations, music, and other such mindfulness activities that involve moving your body seem to be much more helpful. Trying to stay in one place and think can actually backfire for quite a few ADHD individuals. I would definitely experiment with a few different practices! I wish you and your family all the best!

Okay I LOVE the tips!! But someone help me...... Almost every time I try to start a new strategy or hack, I forget about it peretty much the next day - even if I post it up on the freaking wall.... I'm not medicated or diagnosed, but I'm going to my doctor today because I just can't do this any more. I need help. How the hell can I remember to do allllll the things I need to do? Even when I make a to do list, I forget to look at the to do list, even though I've been busy all day, it's just things I come across, I do, and the things I wrote down just disappear from my mind.. I feel like a failure.

I hate to say it but as helpful as this video is meant to be and should be for me unfortunately it just overwhelmed me and was a bit t oo much overload. It did more to confuse and overwhelm me more than anything. Interesting concepts though... 🤔

Maybe could break it down a bit more and make it a little less abstract and easier to decipher for the dum dums in the audience perhaps 🤣
