Great goals! I only have one very broad goal for my 3 1/2 year old autistic son, and that is to continue to progress in any way shape or form. As long as we are moving forward and not backward, I'll be happy. And as long as he's happy, I'll be happy!

I relate to you guys so much. I have a big part in my goddaughter’s upbringing and she is struggling with all the same issues Dexter is, however, getting diagnosis is proving to be difficult. She will be 3 soon and hasn’t said a single word. Her mother or my goddaughter herself do not have a access to therapy or speech and language due to a lack of resources in the area, however, we have started to learn and use sign which she is taking to quite well. She understands what we say so will sign ‘dog’ when you say ‘dog’ which is not only adorable but also a huge achievement for her. She stims all over the place in public spaces so I am going to make her a little badge which explains ‘ I am a non verbal child, but still awesome’ so I don’t have to explain her wherever we go ☺️. I hope you achieve all your goals ❤️

I am so happy for your great news! Dexter is doing fab. Congratulations mummy and daddy on all the hard work you’re doing to help Dexter achieve all his milestones. My son also turned 4 in November 2019 and been diagnosed with asd just before he turned 4. This was a big year for us too! He finally came out of his bauble and started to interact with everyone around him. He started to communicate both non verbally and verbally. He gained a lot of new words. He is even using simple sentences :) We tried to potty train our little boy last year but he just wasn’t ready for that yet. So our goals for 2020 is definitely potty traninig. Continuing to improve his speach and finding ways to help him cope better with transitioning which he struggles a lot with. Good luck in 2020. All the best to you and your family Xx

Hi You're the best mom in the world. You've definitely made me look at autism in a positive manner. Just enjoy how your child is growing ... I'll always remember this❤❤❤❤I want to ask you this do you think if you would have found AAC device for Dexter earlier then it would have speeded up the process?

I just found your channel. My daughter will be 3 in august. We are 100% sure she is autistic, she is currently non verbal but does understand what we are saying. We are reluctant for an official diagnosis. We are working on speech but what you just said about craving g connection is so true. I’m crying watching this video.

I love that you got so excited at Dexter learning to jump that you drooled a little 😂 My main goal for this year for my boy is to get PECs or some other non verbal communication tool going. We have a PECs trial at the end of this month and I cannot wait for it!

Thank you so much for being so open and honest. I have a 2 and a half year old non verbal son. He hasn't been officially diagnosed but I have some concerns. One of course speech and 2 his stimming. And I felt like such a terrible parent that I would start to feel uncomfortable when he would stim in public he hums very loud and hold an object in his hand so I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one ♡ that is something I need to work on myself

With the potty training you may find that once he's trained during the day he may very quickly become trained at night as well, our son did. Our goals for Nate this year are for: 1. Him to be able to tie his shoe laces on his own because he's just recently started wearing laceup shoes. 2. Him to be able to telll us when he's feeling frustrated or unhappy. 3. Us to possibly be able to start doing baking with him again.

Thank you so much for this video. My son Kshitij is having similar progress as Dexter. He is 5 year old and we have set this goal for him to get an admission in special needs school. We have found a good school for him which focuses on child overall learning abilities. But I want to know what should be our expectations from his schooling?

Such a wonderful video. You guys have achieved so much and it’s so lovely to see you review and celebrate such epic milestones. I haven’t yet set any goals which I must do but this year should hopefully bring us assessments for both of our children (4 and nearly 2) after referrals being put in last year which feels like a bug milestone for us as a family

Yea that’s a huge goal for me and Stanley’s mum!! Being comfortable with him vocal stiming. I’m taking the I don’t take if anyone’s looking approach now and making the same noise back louder. I do plan to get Autism awareness T-shirt for better understanding for people. With respect to one to one at current nursery setting Stanley seems to only get it when staff are available!!. We are going for funding for him which should of been complete 6weeks should!!. Feel like taking him out the setting he’s in as it seems business oriented a lot for than anything!!. Thanks so much for starting this channel!!.

Another great video Faye! My goals with my 3 year old daughter is to focus on schools this year. I want to also work on her communication whether this is PECS or AAC. I want to explore these options. I have set goals to introduce Makaton aswell as a form of communication with all of my daughter's as my older daughter's are struggling to communicate with their sibling. My goal is also to find more family friendly and Autistic friendly events we can go to and enjoy as a family! Really enjoyed this video 👍
