Heya! With the COVID lockdown, managed to finally edit the long overdue (no one was really waiting for) next episode haha.
In this episode, I share what it really feels like to go through the NZSIA Lvl 1 Ski Instructor Exam. You will get to see/hear the emotional roller coaster a typical student like me felt and how the exam is organised. So if you are keen to be a ski instructor, do take a look and you will get a pretty good idea how that exam week will be like!

I think you skied very nicely. How come you were not confident? What was not good about your skiing on the first 2days?

hard focus on one skill drowns out all other input. Good for disassembly, reconstruction but bad for performance. Core strength good focus for general performance to pass level1... if you would have said toes up ankles flexed I say level2. If the coat fits you did not fall, cry or quit... good enough....

Heya...sorry I'm really terrible at editing this in a timely manner. Will find time to put the next episodes together but since you asked and this is real life haha, it's not always a happy ending. I got a partial pass, meaning I have to resit the skiing component but am ok for teaching, theory and analysis. Have one year to redo it to get lvl 2 and it is really a big jump from lvl 1 🥺🥺🥺

It starts getting more difficult level 2 you must stand up and know what that means.... It is hard to describe and the only term I know is counterbary... and no one else in the world who skis know what I'm talking about especially examiners... I got cursed at for mentioning it in my tech paper for my try out... they are not interested in the science of motion, frames of reference or communication. If you are smart enough to understand special relativity keep it to your self the joke is on you.

Teach for a season... full time... ski on days off with faster, better skiers, clinic often, run race courses at every opportunity... have fun...

Level 3 get ready for athletic, dynamic precise manipulations of ski design. Know what it means and demonstrate in all terrain and conditions. A 3 year goal for most successfully prepared candidates. Train other instructors for cert 1+2 role model teaching presentations. The physics is beyond examiners comprehension they stick to their fundamentals so don't rock their boat use their limited understanding, fictitious forces, circular logic... it's not as fun.... watch interski video compare national team trends... Love watching Swiss team cheese grater routine. synch ski, line ski, rat pack bumps, run courses... build your own demo team with your level2's

Hello... is any body in there.... just nod if you can hear me.... you passed your level one....Can you stand up? good! I do believe it's working you passed you level two now go get cruel shoes. So much pain my feet are bleeding.... level3 skills are so fleeting, examiners demeaning, you will sadly walk away, decide how much you want to pay. buy your pin and think you win then never get a job again. It's the club that beats you up, takes your money and says good luck.
