This is my ABSOLUTE favorite song of Norah Jones. I have the CD I listen to in my car, and I can repeat this song over and over endlessly. I try and sing it just like her LOL.............The reason this song is so special to me, is because this is EXACTLY how I feel about my bf. He works on a big fishing vessel in Alaska for 2 months at a time and while he's gone, I play this ALL the time and think of him. XOXOX
The first time I heard this song from this artist was today! Last night on Valentines Day. A special someone sang this song to me. He can sing this song to me anytime. I love it! Just beautiful. Kisses!
Beautiful, sound-wise and otherwise. This woman is superlative and beyond category. She treats the song as intimate, not as a chance to show off her considerable chops. Bravo.
This happens to be one of my favorite songs and I sing it myself quite often as I keep you near to me Nora with your beautiful music and you're soothing voice
Those who do not & cannot appreciate this artist & this track - obviously have no real affinity or understanding, gut feel or vibe for jazz in all its multi varied, multi hued , expressive glory... Or her ability to convey, emote - the nuances of this classic jazz standard by Hoagy Carmichael.. She bends her notes, stretches them, across the keys.. extends them.. into & across the keys & chordal patterns.. like gold dust sprinkled across the skies - & sound scapes.. Comparisons ARE (& Can Be) Odious - is the saying.. Especially amongst those creating feeling, emotive, heart & mind works, sound works - as sensitive creative artists.. Treasure them, wherever you find them.. They are scarce, and always great nutrition - nourishing for the mind & soul.. 🍀🎯🔬🗿🤔💜
This arrangement is far better than the original. Miss Jones should be very proud to have been inspired to create such a beautiful rendition of this Hoagy Carmichael classic.
i agree this is the most beautiful , i've listened to others Rendition. i think there's a softness and fragility that translate better to the lyrics of song. Some rendition i think it's a bit too powerful which is great but i personally prefer to be drifted softly and lost in the lyrics with the softness of the melody to the song.
It's such a beautiful song, it's an American Songbook classic . Many singers have performed this song, but this is one of my favourites interpretations. Norah Jones a beautiful voice and wonderful interpretation of a song, could be one of the best versions of it. I would love to hear her sing Shadow of Your Smile, I'm sure would be a classic .
It's such a beautiful song, and her interpretation of it but that soft Whisper of a voice and great tone magnificent. I would like to hear her do a rendition of The Shadow of Your Smile I can imagine how that will sound , with that sweet voice an American Songbook classic I said only imagine. a great singer. And songwriter.
I love this beautiful song Snag by Norah. This is the first time I ever heard this artist, bit my ex-Italian love Enroco sent this link to me. I truly LOVE this song!
Being an old guy, I have heard many versions of this song, from even before Norah was born. But she was born and learned how to sing the BEST VERSION EVER of this song! And see the 20 people with no clue in the thumbs down
I love jazz and there singers, and I try to accept artist I don't care for when others like them, but this is terrible. It would REALLY help if she would sing on key. May I suggest Angelina Jordon who, despite her young age is the next great Ella, Sarah, Nancy, Della, Viki and some I can't remember at the moment, can REALLY hit the notes and has the interpretive skills of someone twice, three times her age.
wastrel09 I cant tell you belong in the category of jlopez..or shakira or b.spears... since then you got no right to replay me ...you are a f...ing eat shit....go with your shit to other place
carl perkins Carl do your thing. Your thing can be anything as long as it doesn't involve listening & commenting on music. Your ears are obviously defective. You may also want to steer clear of anything that involves the English language.
Russell Martin I AM TALKING ABOUT JAZZ AND BLUES MUSIC..NO MY ENGLISH LANGUAJE...YOU LIKE TO COMMENT ABOUT ENGLISH GRAMMAR GO OTHER SITE.. NORAH IS NOT A GREAT SINGER TO DO A COVER OF A GREAT SONG .
