5 years later and this tutorial is still helping people! I recently purchased my first Nord 5HP Electro and struggled to work it out. Your videos have helped alot thank you!
This has REALLY helped me out a lot. I can't thank you enough for posting this information. It's helped me out a ton and cleared the cobwebs from learning the instrument.
Hey Peter, Thanks SO much for these tutorials! I love how you make this so clear and quite perfect. These are the best Nord tutorials by far on the web. Cheers, man!
Thanks for the tutorial. It's nice and slow for us Newbies! I would suggest however that if you would employ the actual process on the keyboard (instead of just talking it through), it might help folks like myself who are more visually oriented.
Your videos are great, helpful and informative, but could you help with basic navigation please? Even just by responding to this comment. You jumped right from the basic introduction to programming setlists. But I was wondering how to go from Program mode to just Organ? In other words, rather than using one of their pre-programmed sounds, how to navigate to just basic B3 organ and then adjust sounds from there. It seems like it's always in program mode and there is no button to get out of program mode and go diectly to organ or piano etc.. This is probably basic and simple but any help would be great please. Thanks!
in program mode, if you press the lower/upper part button (doesn't matter which one), you can toggle between piano, organ, and synth. select one, and you can alter the sound to make it what you want. make sure that the green light next to the keyboard split button in the middle of the program is off, and you have yourself a full keyboard of whatever sound you chose. To toggle between sounds, just toggle again the same part button. To combine sounds or split the keyboard, add in the other part (if the keyboard split button is green, it will split, if not, it will combine). The other advice that it took me forever to figure out: to use the functions UNDER the buttons, just hold the shift button in the bottom left of the program section, and voila. I know this is late and you've probable already got this figured out, but hopefully this can be of help to anybody else in your position.
I'm starting to get it figured out - the first step for me was to actually FIND and then organize the sounds that I like (in some empty slots, starting in the "5" section. Once you figure out which songs you are using, THEN you start assigning them to the setlists. Luckily I have a friend who owns an Electro 5 so she's been a big help!
Thanks for taking the time to post the video but it would be helpful to actually perform the actions you are describing while you're talking about them! Also, the first half of this video serves no purpose, which can be frustrating for people who are looking for instructions on short time constraints. Just a couple tips! Thanks
