This is the best demo of ns4 anywhere. You should be hired by nord. Excellent playing of each patch. Thanks again.

Great video. As someone who is getting a Stage 4 and is blind, I love the fact that there is talking in this video so I know what the name of the programs are. Keep up the great work.

That's probably the most helpful and informative video about NS4! It's like a two hour long tutorial more then it is a sound showcase haha! Thank you sooo much! I wanted to ask; Does the action on the Nord Stage 4 Compact feel light and easy enough to trigger? I'm planning on buying a Nord Stage, but I've seen some people saying that it's hard to push the waterfall keybed down or that it's too stiff. What is your opinion on the matter? :)
@benallen5967
@benallen5967 7 месяцев назад
Thanks for the comments! I appreciate the kind words. I think anyone who says the Stage 4 Compact is difficult to "press down" as far as keys go, either haven't actually played it.. or they were just born and have no idea what it feels like to play an actual piano, because that is far far heavier in terms of the feel, than this action. It certainly takes some getting used to - if you come from a traditional action, like a Piano. What helps tremendously, is that the Stage 4 (all 3 models now) have triple sensors, including the Compact. This translates to a much faster response from the touch-to-sound side of things. The action on the Stage 4 Compact, is sort of like a cross between a traditional waterfall organ (think Hammond B3) and a Synth (think Yamaha DX-7). It is semi weighted, but not by actual weights... this is accomplished by springs inside the keys, and they are all the same gauge (size)...so you end of with a spring loaded, synth like, organ key shaped action, which is actually a joy to play. Let me know if you have any other questions, and don't hesitate to reach out personally if you like! Godisopen@gmail

@@benallen5967 wow thank you so much! This helped a lot! My biggest joy is to play organs! So all I needed to know is if the keys are light enough to do so. Sounds like they are! Thanks so much for the detailed response! That’s very kind of you. I also had the dilemma of picking between the NS3 and the NS4, But something just tells me I should get the Nord Stage 4 haha! Sorry for all the questions, but do you think that’s the right decision? :)

Great Video on the Nord 4 ! So if I'm playing a concert how do I shift naturally through all these patches? Like the Kronos has the setlist programming what is the Nord version of that? Please anyone comment on this as is this a jam keyboard and then I use the Kronos for synth or MainStage or what ?

Great stuff and lovely playing. Although the same samples, for some reason the piano/wurli/eps sound brighter and more present than in my Electro 6
@benallen5967
@benallen5967 Год назад
Thanks Simon! I agree. Even from my Stage 3 to the Stage 4, the overall sound of the Stage 4 (and Piano 5) is brighter and more punchy.
@danielcolfer4671
@danielcolfer4671 5 месяцев назад
That’s because there’s more eq options on the stage 4. You can dial it in to sound like the electro 6 if you so desire. 😊

These are just factory programs… and while many are good, you can easily make better sounds yourself using what comes in the Nord- as well as sample your own for its Synth section.

Hey Ben 😊 and thanks for the fine video . I had the Stage 3 compact but had to sell it because the Key bed wasn’t good for the piano sounds , but I like the form factor and the weight , I would love to hear how improved this new tripple sensor key bed are on nord stage 4 , does it feel good and connect well with the piano sounds 😊
@benallen5967
@benallen5967 10 месяцев назад
I would say the NS4 compact, now that it has triple sensors... is a HUGE improvement in terms of the piano responsiveness. For me, it is a massive difference. I will not personally purchase any Nord that has the HA series (Fatar TP-40m) action. I've had a Piano 2, 3, 4, 5 and Stage 3 88 with that action and had nothing but problems. But I very much would recommend the compact action, especially now that it has triple sensors.

@@benallen5967 thankyou so much 😊I will find a good 88 to have under , do you have any recommendations . BR
@benallen5967
@benallen5967 10 месяцев назад
@@niellseen I do! What’s your budget, and are you looking for mainly control (as in a primarily action focused keyboard) or also sounds in the bottom board?
@niellseen
@niellseen 10 месяцев назад
@@benallen5967 thanks 😊 mainly great action , not too hard to play , i grow up with acoustic piano and durability long lasting is also important I h… poor quality so I am prepared too pay , the 88 is for home/studio use only , i have the Yamaha cp 73 for the rehearsal room with Logic Pro for iPad connected or sometimes the MBP 😊
@benallen5967
@benallen5967 10 месяцев назад
@niellseen So with all of that being very much what I would look for in a keyboard as well, I would suggest three options. First, a stage piano that already has a great set of sounds, as well as a wonderful action. Something like a Yamaha YC 88 (which I use and love to control my Nord with). You can certainly check out the p515, or CP88 as well, although I wouldn't get another CP unless you absolutely love it. You could also look at something like a Roland RD88, which has a good, though looser action. Many stage pianos exist with excellent actions - for example, the new P series from Yamaha feels quite good, and so do the new Casio PXS-7000, although that is spending more than I would want to. The last option I'll suggest, would be the Studiologic SL88 Grand, which I used for many years before buying the YC88. The action in the SL88 Grand, is the Fatar TP-40wood, and it is quite good. In my opinion, it is only bested by the newer Numa X Piano GT, which has the TP-400 Wood, and is used by Dexibell in their S9 and S10, which I've also played, and which feels fantastic. If I was going to go for a purely action focused keyboard to control my Nord, and I didn't already have the YC88 - the Numa X Piano GT would be the one I would choose, especially if it was for home/studio use. Hope that helps! Feel free to reach out via email if you want to talk further. Godisopen@gmail.com

Many people still use the mellotron sounds.. to the point that they still make mellotron instruments.
