I'm currently reading "The One Eyed God" by Kris Kershaw, it's an excellent read and covers much of this period and the Mannerbund / Koryos cultic practices. Kershaw references the view that members of the Koryos enter it after a period of training that lasts a number of years. During that period and when a member of the Koryos the young men are in a specific sacred state, not a child nor an adult member of the society, they are in a liminal state. Perhaps the mound- grave was used to handle deaths among that specific group. As for the Omega symbols perhaps they symbolise the womb that the initiate member of the Koryos emerge from as they pass through the various initiatory stages into adulthood.

Yupp, people tend to forget that in scandinavia, people lived here 1000s of years before the vikings- so in that sense its both modern day swedes AND vikings ancestors we look at. In Norrköping I looked at hällristningar from 3500 + years ago, funny to see a depiction of boar hunting AND very near on the road is a sign "warning for boar" (...vildsvin) in other words, the same animal that roamed the land here for 4000 years ago is still around, heck it might even be their piggy ancestors on the carved rock. You tend to forget how crazy that is.

@@slappy8941 Jive does an important work because even among us swedes, we sometimes pretend our history started with vikings. I love vikings and our heritage but we have 1000s of years with history before those people, and proto runes that leads up to it- and boat burials. In fact, many carved things on rock keeps showing boats, taking to the sea has always been in our blood.

Fascinating, thank you for great video! Interpretation of tablet 8 I have heard is that two different peoples / clans, coming of two different wombs (bottom picture) both participate religious ritual (middle picture) and then become one, with a united pantheon / ancestral cult. There is also an old theory that the similarities between Scandinavia and eastern med comes from Phoenecians setting up trade stations here. This theory is from before so much was known about Indoeuropeans, like, first half of 20th century. Things brought to support this is proposed remnants of middle eastern counting system in Germanic languages, such as eleven and twelve suggesting a base 12 counting system. Also the old meaning of hundred was 120, which is divisible by, well, I do not know how it works in detail. So that theory would work well this interpretation of tablet 8. However, it is a bit anti Indoeuropean, so maybe only valuable as a history of ideas. I also heard that eleven and twelve have been explained as sound shift rather than remnants of base 12 counting system.

Even though I find some interpretations a bit far fetched, I believe that you are right on many points. It is fascinating how those symbols, particularly the Sun wheel, are found all over Europe. I suppose you know that for the Celts, this son wheel evolved into the wheel of Taranis the thunder god who travelled in a Chariot just like Thor and produced thunder with the wheels. Those similarities make me think the the (proto) indo Europeans probably had a very similar cult that, because of natural barriers and distances evolved into the many pagan cults of Europe. Too many similarities to be something other than that.
