Phew. Glad to have this one finally finished. I'm finally off to Ireland next week for a much anticipated journey into the islands incredible history as well as insights into my own family history. Of course many videos will follow! Video wise there are so many ridiculously epic projects in the works. This one on Akkad is a mere taste of what is to come in terms of the Bronze Age world! Don't forget to subscribe if you enjoy the content and leave a comment telling me what you'd like to see covered next. It all helps the algorithm gods to help the channel. Thanks all! It's all about the rivers...rivers rivers. The Nile floods as well and king Namur / king scorpion is an early bronze age contemporary sumer is a bit older but it's arguable by how much. However the Nile is more stable due to it being fed by the Great lakes as apposed to just the rainfall from the Taurus mountains. Given the ages of history Egyptian farm land hasn't salted up don't know why . But yes it is rivers tigres and Euphrates or the blue and white Nile. I love sumer and Akkad this video is brilliant but let's thank the nameless person who decided to save the library at ninevah. Plus the person who cracked cuniform

Thank you! From the son of Sumer, Akkad, Babylon, and Assyria! People of no history want to make this insignificant. These are the first (Civilizations) not only empires! Civilizations have to have a system, a language, writing, bookkeeping, and laws. The native Australians lived there since 75000 years ago but never developed a civilization. People comment that there were people on earth, well of course there was but Civilizations started in the Mesopotamia and even before the ancient Egyptians… I now and my kids carry American and Australian citizenships but my blood is for ever Mesopotamian, my skin is brown, uni eyebrow, big eyes and big nose! And I’m absolutely in love and so proud of it.

The decipherment of cuneiform (Sanskrit 'wedge form or shaped') is perhaps the greatest, albeit forgotten aspect of this history. The man of whom the honour is owed is George Smith, an assistant of Henry Rawlinson at the British Museum, and not even a scholar. This was the man that pieced together the account of the Flood, and realised 1 piece was missing among the some 26,000 fragments in the museum. He was the man that went back to the site, climbed under the rubble to rummage the countless fragments of the library and found the missing fragment of Tablet 11. The flood was complete! George Smith died in Iraq aged 33 (from memory).

The Sumerians were beautiful artisans! I’ve seen Queen Puabi’s artifacts at an exhibit in the Penn Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and they really stuck with me. Before you said Puabi’s name, I already felt the footage you were showing looked familiar. That doesn’t happen to me too often with historical societies (and I go to a lot of anthropological museums), really a testament to how strong of an impression seeing their crafts will leave on you! I really recommend anyone who is able to, go visit the Penn Museum. The exhibit on Queen Puabi and her people is pretty extensive! The jewelry especially is so ornate and finely smithed, it’s amazing to think how long ago people were already incredibly skilled in making beautiful things.

41:42 It's really interesting to see that Ishtar was his patron goddess because in mythology Ishtar takes the Eanna temple and the city of Uruk from Anu signifying the change of power from a god of an older generation to a new generation goddess. Ishtar's myths definitely reflect Sargon's control of Sumer and his reign only cemented her worship throughout Mesopotamia as ''Queen of Heaven".

There is only 1 God. He is Lord. The same Lord who is Messiah is God and His Holy spirit. The God of Jacob is the God of Israel. He said Israel would regather back to Israel in the latter days. That is exactly what happened. Thats why the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob is my Lord AND God.
