This video is about Norfolk Broads June 2016. The audio has had the treble increased to bring out the bird song. The weather during this week was quite overcast with only a small amount of sunshine.
My wife and I are planning a holiday on the broads next year and we thourghly enjoyed your video filmed at a nice relaxing pace. We particularly enjoyed all the shots of wild life and insects...
Wow that was beautiful , i really enjoyed it , i felt like i was actually there with you as the video was so clear , & it was lovely to see all the wildlife, thankyou for sharing .look forwards to more , wish i was going on a boat now , we're having a houseboat this year. lori
Nice gentle video Bryan. Your videos alway seem to bring out what I consider the essence of the Broads. Do hope you find another yard to Royall's standards. Can only think of three contenders and as one of those is on the Southern network which I take from your films is not an option, just two!
Hi Fred You are quite correct we do only cruise the North Broads. I can guess one other good yard but that could be slightly embarrassing since we moved from them to Royall's but really only to get a Bow Thruster, an electric winch and a walk round bed although that was not as good as we had hoped since my feet end up under the side deck, in fact in some ways I wish we had never changed. Not sure which other yard you mean, there is only one other small one that I can think of and have never been too sure about them.
Hi, I really enjoyed watching your video and fabulous photography. While not strangers to the Broads we have booked our first boating holiday with Richardson's for September this year and we are both really looking forward to it. I'm a little apprehensive as I've only hired day boats before and nothing as big as the boat we have, it looks very similar in size to the boat you had in the video. Ours is also a front steer cruiser with bow thrusters, are they easy to moor?
Hi When we have bow thrusters we use a different technique for side on mooring, wife on the stern and then get the stern in (gently), she gets off with the stern rope and then I give a tweak on the bow thruster to bring the bow in and I hop over the side with the bow rope (having laid it along the side of the boat previously). This works well for us but whatever you do take it slowly and gently and wear your lifejackets. By the way that boat was 35ft, from your description I guess you may be hiring one of the ex-Swancraft boats that Richardsons bought.
Hi, really like your video, me and my parter Jacqueline are hiring a sailboat in August, can't wait to get out there sailing, no engine noise, should be really quiet.
Hi Anthony The boat is Royall Satin hired from Royall's Boatyard, Hoveton (Wroxham). Unfortunately they are closing down at the end of the 2017 season but if you wish to try them in 2017 I would suggest that you contact the yard direct or book through Hoseasons.
We were on High Seas sailing the same area that week & you didn't even film us! Mind you it did RAIN on that Sunday & we were in the middle of Barton & got drenched.
