There is a website called NSroster that has up to date info. The owner dies a great job with it.

I use that site for identifying the former numbers of C6Ms before rebuilding as well as any other roster updates.

Same here. EMD has always been the responsible choice in locomotive acquisition with the exception of a few models. The testament is that many EMD's have been around for 40-50 years or more, some having been rebuilt 2 or 3 times or using parts from traded in first generation EMD's. Most GE's prove they are not worth spending money rebuilding. EMD's have always been mechanically superior to GE until some of the latest units and it seems the EMD engineers and design people decided to make even simple maintenance tasks a nightmare, where GE has worked to make them quicker and simpler. GE can certainly claim they are the worlds most improved and still improving locomotive builder.

@@alcosteam Its just too bad them poor decisions led EMD not competing anymore like it once did.
