this whole set is a masterclass on being funny. I love the way he trips over his words and kills any conventional timing, but makes up for it just by being authentic. the whole thing just feels real?????
I’m borderline in tears. I thought I had heard all of Norm’s content there was and ever would be (until the final special is released tomorrow), and I come across this. I miss him so much. Thank you. Thank you so much.
Norms standup sets are legendary. He structures it like a series of random segues but they're consistent from one show to another, although he sometimes chooses a different path. That's what makes every set fun to watch even if you've seen other shows from the same tour. Also I'm gay.
R.I.P. What an amazing comic! He was so inteligente and he new to play the dumb guy because nobody likes someone smarter then them. He said that about David letterman also
53 or so minutes in is so difficult to listen to knowing he was hiding his grave illness. Wow. What a comedic genius who was totally committed to the craft ... I got to see the greatest comedian alive while he lived. I am so blessed! In this clip, he actually made it funny to think that our very families would turn on us in the end. He made something we have only thought about fleetingly in our heart of hearts be real: Our loved ones would pull the plug on our existence!!!😂
Just dawned on me, Norm IS Canada. Proud , smart , soft , loving Canada. And I say IS, I don't care what that coroner says, Norm body or no body, IS alive in my world. Whats life anyway? It's people still talking about you in the present tense. It's not like I was going to run into him in the grocery. Just as alive as if that silly heart didnt stop to me.
Are you Canadian by any chance and that’s why you say he represents Canada? A person is not his country. A person is a person. And a person is dead if a person is dead. You can still enjoy his comedy. It’s time to grow up and be an adult.
@@torrescopywriting5374 Not a person that ponders philosophical are you. I'm from the great debaucherious Las Vegas if that has any bearing, which it doesn't. If it isn't clear, I was (am) , thinking outside the box in context to Norms existence beyond the grave. Some of it had humor, lost on you "grown-ups" that require rational thinking when referring to dead comedians. But you do you bud. I'll be over here just thinking.
Endlessly frustrating watching the comedians at the end of Nothing Special wondering if Norm ever did this material in front of the audience and or whether or not it would kill. The second Norm did his first joke I knew that this was this set. (Roughly, of course, Norm Is too good at this to ever do the same set twice.)
Jesus that type of articulation is so similiar to Bill Hicks late austin Show which is a fucking classic. It's crazy how best comedians all fucking die.
Norm was not a fan of Billy Boy and mentioned it in a few different interviews. I bet he would be insulted but we'll just have to speculate due to him taking a dirt nap
Listen, kids, you might think it's cool that you ate your buddy in algebra class, and i'm not gonna lie to you. You will be the talk of the school for quite some time.
1:19:00 trying to keep the law; TEN COMMANDMENTS 1.) HAVE NO FALSE GOD 2.) NO IDOL 3.) DO NOT MISUSE GOD'S NAME 4.) KEEP SABBATH 5.) HONOR PARENTS 6.) NO MURDER 7.) NO SEX SIN 8.) NO THEFT 9.) NO LIE 10.) NO COVET no one can do it. Norm is right about oxen
Not a great set. Pacing was slow, even for Norm. You can sure tell what was on his mind though. Still enjoyable, but certainly you can see some slippage, which is to be expected in retrospect.
