Thank you so this rilly helped me alot like I have an exam nxt wk and I knew nothing on this topic buh after watching this I now able to solve problems
The total area to the left side is 0.5 to get it's probability u subtract the probability given to get the area (probability) of the remaining shaded part 👍
Since the total area under the curve is 1. It simply implies that the area on both sides of the mean is 0.5 each. Now recall that the Z table gives the area between 0 and the Z value. Hence 0.5 - 0.1255 gives the wanted area.
The aim is to get the area of the shaded region, and the value of each side by the broken line is 0.5. Now, you must get the unshaded to know the shaded which is the value gotten from the table. Then you subtract these value from 0.5 to get the shaded part.
Check the z score ranges...and what area they cover and u will notice why he substracted ...just use diagrams to notice the area covered from zero of the z axis
Im if i get ur question..normally the normal curve has a total probability area of 1 and is symmetrical about center...so the other left part of mean center is 0.5 percent area and the right of mean is also 0.5 which all attributes to 1
