"Maybe that person is you" It is me actually. I was just crying because Im tired of going to the doctor and getting told Im just fat and crazy. Ive never been better mentally than now, and Ive felt normal and better and I know, I just know that Im not ok and I just get dismissed every time. Ferritin levels "normal" lowest is 10. Im at 13, and I swear the doctor I just talked to one hour ago said "but if you lost weight, that'd definitely help". I feel so overwhelmed
Sorry you're feeling so overwhelmed! Optimizing your micronutrients could be a good start - there's a link in the video description for a free chart you can use. You're also welcome to apply for a one-on-one consultation with me if you'd like to meet a doctor who won't tell you you're crazy or lazy!
Something my docs never address for me is why I can't gain weight. I have asked docs they don't take me seriously. "Dismissed" as you put it perfectly describes them. There's next to nothing out there on this, many videos like yours should be talking about what to eat to maintain an optimal weight rather than what to eat to lose it. You seem to be among the first to come close to that. I'm wondering about fortified cheerios. They are made from oats. Other info has it that they inhibit iron pickup so is adding iron to them useless since it can't be picked up anyway?
Unfortunately, many more folks in our modern world struggle to lose fat than gain it (or muscle), but you make a good point. It is important (especially as we age) to maintain a healthy body weight - mostly in the form of muscle. This involves gut health, metabolic balance, hormones (like testosterone) and other complex systems - besides food choices and micronutrients!
