@@Pocketrose3 yes, thank you, I'm aware of that. Alzheimer can take your "knowledge", but it's not a point here and you realize it very well, I'm certain. You can say the same about death, so what? And yet, if you have knowledge about Alzheimer you can try to prevent it, right? There's no guarantee, but it worth a try.

hi. I am a 12 yo girl from Europe and recently I've been very insecure about how my friends see me. So I started searching some things that can help me improve my opinion about myself, even though i always had succes at school and performed in piano. I feel down these days and I am happy I found your channel, I can see someone talking in a balanced way about so many problems or prejudices people have and gives me a clue for a solution. Thank you so much💕

Anti -intellectualism isnt about being against education or knowledge. Certainly not the way its presented by Anna. Anti -Intellectualism is about the academic/Ivy League culture of snobbery, closed mindedness, entitlement, and politics that comes from that set. A lot of people aren't crazy about your wine swiller that says "Latinex" instead of "Latino/Latina" and brags about how putting their seven year old on puberty blockers to support their transgender journey. Plenty of people hate those. It has nothing to do with being well read, knowledgeable, worldly, or enlightened.

I feel like it’s impossible to be extremely educated regarding everything, therefore being humble, curious and willing to learn is a great advice. People that are passionate about something, normally love to share that passion and knowledge. Learning from someone can be a great bonding and networking experience. Also, find out what you truly are passionate about and keep your mind open to different things, different experiences and opinions (and this is why critical thinking is sooo important). Love the video Ana.

Thank you for mentioning the importance of culture and how stimulating it can be. I’m a culture worker myself - im a classical musician. I’m so sad to see mostly old people attending concerts. Maybe classical music is an acquired taste. Or maybe people are just intimidated and afraid they won’t get or like it. I think an appreciation for culture is something that needs to be developed ideally early in life. Parents need to bring their kids to cultural events, give them a taste of it so they may seek it for themselves when they’re adults. I’m not saying a grown up who never entered a hall or a museum is a lost cause - absolutely not. But it’s less likely that going to hear the symphony will come to your mind when thinking of how to spend your Friday night if you never went. Something I’d add to your already well curated list : learning another language. It’s difficult if you don’t get to practice it to become somewhat fluent of course. But if you can, it’s amazing what it does to your brain! It opens your mind too to discover that other languages are structured differently - and soon your own thoughts get built differently in you mind when speaking that other language. And most importantly it gives you the opportunity to discover people you could never had talked to otherwise - you don’t even need to be that good, confidence and curiosity are key! Thank you for another great video 🙏

I can relate to and at the same time value your opinion. Yes, you're right, mostly old people attending concerts. When I was at Royal Opera House two weeks ago, I saw a small number of young people. That's not so upsetting for me, but my boyfriend is very sad about the fact, that people of our age (25, 26 years old) in most cases don't like opera and classic music.

For me, someone who doesn’t know that much about classical music, yes, it is intimidating. It also feels like a very judgy environment, where you have to know a lot if things from the beginning and have to appreciate things in a very specific way, otherwise you will be branded as ignorant. So yeah, for me it’s difficult to find the potential beauty and joy under all that pressure.

This is such great advice! I have been a college professor for over 20 years and I wish my students understood this as well as you do. Many people I've encountered assume that being educated is a one-time event (like earning a degree) instead of an active process that must occur on a daily basis. In fact, a degree itself isn't even as important as the mindset and habits you describe in this short video. The information you present here is so valuable. As an educator, I just want to say that I agree with you and strongly encourage others to follow your suggestions.

During my working life, I have been organized, effective and a mentor for others. I have travelled and worked in a variety of settings. But I do not put it out there! Haha! I suppose I could be seen as a bit scary. I love fashion and style and have pretty decent table manners. As I said. #7 is absolutely true-I went to a fairly elite private K-12, then a strong public uni for undergrad & grad, and my high school heavily emphasized critical consumption of media and experiences. That meant an interest in not just consuming, say, a theatre performance, but also familiarizing oneself with the history and context of the program. That meant not just reading the news, but assessing its biases and reliability, and how it fits into a broader context. I would disagree with #8-the issue isn’t saying “I don’t know,” it’s not caring to change that status. The educated person recognizes that there’s plenty they don’t know, and when confronted with an instance of not knowing, is likely to consider how they would answer the question, or what they would suspect the answer to be and why or why not that might hold true.

In my opinion, the darker hair is really flattering to you. It brings out your eye color. Thank you for this video it was very eye-opening.

Very helpful video, great tips! I've met so many affluent people that were just boring, did the same things as every other people, traveled to the same places, bought the same stuff... That's why wealthy people have the reputation of being futile, everybody is just the same! Having substance is such an unique and interesting trait in somebody, it really adds to your character and personality. I'd rather focus on my hobbies and personal interests and form my own opinion than do and be what everybody else is doing and being.

When I lived in bigger cities, I was able to do all of those things - now, I'm in Mississippi (temporarily) and all I have to say is - Thank goodness for Amazon (home shopping) and the internet... Without these I would not be learning a new language, learning to crochet my own designs (to sell or gift) and I learned how to cook better meals, design my dream home and learn to put the power of manifesting to work...

My mother always told me that experience is the best teacher. Certainly makes perfect sense being that when you get experience you gain knowledge of those experiences. I am a firm believer in that the truly educated never graduate. There is always something to learn.

I like #7 - objective critical thinking, as well as #8 - curiosity. I would also add being open-minded to new perspectives as a corollary to critical thinking and analyzing, self-awareness and meditation, and always learning. Also, there's something to be said about higher formal education.
