I think Daryl did fall in love with Beth although he didn't realise it at the time. I feel like there was 100% love there, but deeper than anything else. Like it was more than her just being a sister to him, but it also went further than her being a love interest. She brought him back to life in a way, she showed him a glimmer of hope, she also got him to open up about his life before the turn. I feel like Beth was like the sun in everyones life, and when she died, the sun went away. She was Daryl's sunshine, but I dont think it went to the level alot of people wanted it to, you have to look deeper than that. Norman definitely wasn't going with a "i love beth" type of character in those episodes. Like he says he wanted to play things awkard because the feelings Daryl had were new to him. She was like a light in a dark tunnel. Daryl up to where he was then, probably had never seen that or felt what beth made him feel. Perhaps hope? Idk but Beth definitely made Daryl feel some type of way. Maybe he did have feelings for her, but as norman says, he wouldn't quite understand that. I was reading comments about daryl being a virgin, I think he isn't, I agree following merle around brought him to be with women at will or not. I dont think norman ever brought on that topic but i think he wanted to convey that daryl had never felt the feelings he had until beth came along. And Daryl doesn't know how to act on them. Whether they were feelings of love or not, something was there and I would've liked beth around daryl because they were understanding and good to each other. Something daryl needed by him his whole life. Perhaps if beth was still alive, we would've seen how he managed his feelings. I never did see their relationship as romantic, they just developed this incredible bond after going through something horrible and losing everything and they only had one another left, and Daryl was basically giving up and Beth had this pure goodness he had never experienced and gave him a reason to go on and keep fighting, and that's why he was so devastated losing her and just collapses in the road when he realized he can't get her back and basically stops caring about anything until he found Rick and them again, and then his reaction at her death just when he thought they'd got her back, cause even though he had his other friends back, it was destroying that goodness and that bond that they had.

O episódio Still é muito profundo. Muito mais do que "um garoto e uma garota". É o Daryl se libertando de um bando de coisas e de quebra, se apaixonando. Não é um ep de romance, mas eu penso que o Daryl se apaixonou por Beth bem ali. No ep seguinte isso fica muito subentendido, quando ele fica admirando enquanto ela canta, o jeito que ele olha para ela. Na cena da mesa quando ela pergunta o que o fez mudar de idéia ele fica relutante em dizer, mas fica claro. E talvezzzzz ele poderia ter falado algo se aqueles malditos zumbis não tivessem aparecido. Em outra cena os sentimentos dele por ela também ficam subentendidos, quando um dos integrantes do grupo que o encontra sugere que Daryl estava daquele jeito - andando como morto - por causa de uma garota e Daryl se irrita assim que o cara pergunta se "é das novinhas". E também o jeito que ele fica quando ela morre, no momento da morte e a morte de Beth muda o Daryl, tanto que em outro ep Rick diz "já se passaram duas semanas. Eu sei que você perdeu algo em Atlanta", Carol também percebe como Daryl ficou ruim depois que Beth se foi e pergunta "ela salvou a sua vida também né?" e diz que ele precisa se deixar sentir... mais tarde, quando finalmente ele chora por isso fica muito óbvio que a perda de Beth foi diferente de todas as outras que ele teve até ali. Ela o ajudou a ver além do que ele costumava ver, não só na perspectiva de mundo, mas de como ele olhava para ele mesmo. Eu penso que ela foi crucial na mudança dele, principalmente considerando o momento em que aconteceu. Ele se sentia pertencendo a algum lugar, tinha amigos, pessoas que se importavam e tudo isso foi tirado dele no momento em que a prisão foi tomada. Ele estava sozinho outra vez. E então, Beth está ao lado dele dizendo que ainda há esperança, que ainda existem pessoas boas, que ele pode se livrar do passado, que ele não é como antes... inclusive, quando ele está procurando por ela junto com Carol ele diz que está tentando recomeçar e que "eles não são cinzas". É lindo o Norman descrever que encontrar Beth foi como encontrar uma maçã em uma árvore no apocalipse, penso que foi exatamente assim para o Daryl. E eu acho completamente bonito como tudo acontece, é exatamente o Daryl "conhecendo" e tentando entender tudo isso. E, assim como o Norman, eu também penso que Daryl é mais do tipo "bom, eu não sei se estou fazendo isso certo, não sei se estou dizendo a coisa certa", mas AINDA QUE Daryl não entendesse nada sobre isso, AINDA QUE ele estivesse confuso sobre o que era aquilo, AINDA QUE ele não soubesse o que dizer, fica muito claro que ele viu sim Beth com amor, que se apaixonou por ela. Bem diferente de como era com a Carol, por exemplo. Com Carol era amizade, com Beth foi amor. E eu fico completamente triste porque isso foi tirado do Daryl, ainda que Norman não quisesse interpretar Daryl com cenas de romance, a vida de Beth poderia ter sido poupada e Daryl poderia ter a chance não só de sentir amor, mas de viver isso também.
I personally ship Daryl and Carol, because I from what I've seen you can tell that they genuinely care about each other and have formed a strong emotional bond, but if Daryl and Beth were to happen I think I'd enjoy seeing how that would come about.
I never saw their relationship as a romantic one if I’m honest, but I thought they had a beautiful bond. He would have protected her forever if she had lived. The fact that he wasn’t able to broke him. I would have loved to have seen how their relationship (in whatever form) would have grown if she had survived. I think Beth was a character that was killed off too soon. Would have loved to have seen what kind of woman she would have become. She’s the only death that really really got to me.
I love how the directors/writers of the show put so much complexity into each character and the actors also read so much into it as well. It's not just straight forward and I think that's part of what makes The Walking Dead so good.
I think daryl was seeing beth more like a sister love type of thing he had feeling for her but to protect her and help her out just like a brother would do with their sister especially since beth dad was killed in front of them they both lost important people and both of them were helping each other out and i think that their feelings for each other and the group got stronger

First off he never says like a little sister so strike that from the record. Second Reedus strikes me as the artsy type so he's all about speaking up for the integrity of the writing and the story as he says, it was deeper than just hooking up. It was awkward as he blatantly says that's how he would play any romance out. He's not the type to feed into the shipping frenzy because he feels there's a bigger picture to the show here. No one is living in fantasy. It's not happening anyway so you should be content.

On one of a interviews he was In. He said " I look at beth as a little sister but if daryl doesnt find that woman in his age and strong there is a chance beth would be that woman.
I liked that he is not totally opposing the fact that Beth and Daryl might have a potential to be together but I get what he meant, he was playing as a character who is clueless about what he feels and still learning himself as a person. Beth kinda showing him the way that its possible to have hope that there are still good people around and made him learn something. The qualities that Beth have, might trigger some feelings in Daryl that he never really felt before or experience. So he might have feelings for Beth but he takes it as a slow process, attraction comes within time and finally seeing it as something more. Thats why I love Daryl as a character overall since he is not a type of person who just hookups and move on but just learning someone as a whole and being someone better. He was unsure what he felt since no one really showed him how but Beth did it somehow without realizing it. I think if Beth is still alive, he would have love and appreciate her as a person. I figured with Daryl's up-bringing ...that the majority of his formative-years has been the nurturing of a deadbeat father, a whore for a mother, a degenerate for a brother, and always being picked on by other kids. Well Norman pretty much said he agrees with the interviewer when he said he didn't see a romance. Norman has said he wants to play Daryl this way with Carol also, so I dunno where anyone gets off as this being fact that Beth and Daryl will fall in love lol
He actually said in an interview in july that him and emily did interprete their scenes this way. Not necessarily in a romantic way but not in a platonic way either. I think he did fall in love with Beth, but he also loves and loved Carol. So, I think he was conflicted to staying true to Carol, even if he never saw her again, and taking a chance with Beth.

Yeah I always just saw them as two people who got to know each other better as friends. And I saw she was more optimistic and it was kind of a beacon of light. I didn't see the romance. In hindsight, later on back in the group if she had lived longer, aged more then maybe. But it would've been years later. Aside from that the age difference didn't work, it's more interesting to not ship everybody, especially with the mostly lone wolf kind of guy he is. Her death was unexpected! Just when her arc as a character was getting good too :(
