What's the rationale behind this project:
What happens if a washed-up-used-to-be-RU-vidr gathers a bunch of "generic" looking assets (though mostly inspired by Australian / Canadian cityscapes) with the hopes of creating a Cities: Skylines region full of towns and cities that both look realistic and are inspired by Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA, while at the same time don't really replicate any one particular style? No idea, let's find out.
Join me in this Cities: Skylines modded gameplay / let's play / timelapse series as we expand the region, and build new infrastructure, highways, public transit, industrial pockets, NIMBY-neighbourhoods, sprawling suburbs and bustling downtowns. And of course, use tress excessively to cover up any imperfections!

Which Theme and LUT are you using?
Theme is Los Angeles by OWL, slightly mixed with Grass and Pavement textures from the NotSoRocky Hills theme by Khanador. LUT is Coastal by Ronyx69.
How do you place residential buildings so fast in suburbs/neighbourhoods?

From fighting the system interrupts issues in the previous episode to recovering my game from the big new update.. Good for you cause I'm close to giving up on doing cites skylines on my laptop cause it keeps crashing I try everything to make it work by unstalling the mods and restarting the game and none of that works like I can start a map or make one and I can't afford to upgrade shit cause everything to upgrade a PC is too expensive so I almost about to give up and play vanilla.

Hello from the south of France, a small message to thank you for making great videos, with very realistic cities, you are by far the best in city skyline.A small project idea for conifera: a F1 track a bit like that of Melbourne surrounded by a park and next to the city.

Awesome build. Just for the " car slow down at stretch nodes" issue : node controller tells you when it will happen, if its red the cars will get confused about where they are in the node because of some overlap. When its Green you will be fine

Looks quite realistic and suburban American, though it it slightly light on the parking lol. Only change I’d make is to switch the Chevron gas station so that it’s facing the main road and add a big sign.

I thin to add to the suburban feel, you should add powerlines on the main road, maybe even instead of the trees, even though they look nice. Otherwise really enjoyed the episode, as always :))

Glad to see your back, Infra! Your suburb builds stand out for me. You always achieve a level of "generic" detailing in and around your suburbs in commercial place which makes it hyperrealistic for me. Having said that you're never overloading a scene with too many details as in props, etc. It fits seamless into the surrounding builds and it looks fine af. Well done!

11:50 the reason why they slow down is because the nodes are to close together; if the nodes are together there is no way for cars/trucks to be together in the same node, the cars calculate their way per segment. So if one segment is fully occupied the car must slow down and wait for the segment to be clear again. this is also the reason you can't have 2 or more junctions to close together

45:08 do Coniferia building regulations not compose a chapter on the necessity that appartments to get some sunlight? Or minimum distances to the next wall? Your build is amazing and obviously realism shouldn't be the nr.1 thing.. but the rest of your build was like super realistic so you might want to space them out a bit more If you cared to read the comment thus far: love your work!

For the high school, since there aren’t any sports facilities or anything like that the high school could be an alternative high school, we have a lot of them in America for students who get expelled from public schools they’re used to still educate the students while separating them from the public school students who can make it through the day without fighting and causing disruptions in the class, I don’t necessarily agree with alternative schools I think there should be better options for students to prevent them from causing issues in schools but it’s very prevalent in America.

I mean, well done on this episode, but don't you find this type of development utterly depressing? There's just something so sad about highways, suburbs, strip malls and massive slabs of concrete/asphalt for parking. At least your version has some greenery.

Agreed, most of the things that make what's in this episode slightly more bearable than most real-life American versions would actually be illegal to build in the US! I've never understood why just because somebody likes the space of a suburban home, that that has to go hand in hand with 1,740,575 car spaces per shop and not allowing cute little businesses (life cafes or book stores) to be scattered among the housing. These things make a suburb BETTER (and more valuable) than having to drive to huge parking lots to shop. I grew up in "suburbs" (but not in the US) with houses on large blocks, but the suburbs themselves were all compact and walkable. Every house within a 15 minute walk of the train station, the shopping strip was more like a 'Main Street' than a strip-mall, no parking lots, and the residential streets all had things like cafes, restaurants, shops and parks scattered around among the houses too. Didn't have to drive anywhere. If American suburbs allowed that, they would be much more liveable.

just wondering, how do you use the surface painter tool without getting clipping issues and the sidewalks being removed from roads? if there is a guide out there pls let me know as ive been trying to figure this out for ages.
