Nice! I def recommend any of the stores mentioned if you haven’t been. How is Durham specifically? I’m more familiar with Raleigh/Cary area

Sorry for the late response! Honestly there’s not much in Durham, I usually end up going to Raleigh or Greensboro for retro stuff anymore.

Asheville has the "Pinball Museum" Lots of retro pinball and arcade cabinets. They also have a gift shop attached that has NES and SNES consoles set up for public play. Parking downtown there is tough, but worth the stop if you can make it.

I actually went to Asheville earlier this year but the wait time to get into the museum was over an hour so we didn't have time. Next time I do want to make time for it!

I love that Hidden Block stocks Nintendo Powers! I look through them every time I go. Haven’t made it out to Magpie & Crow yet

I'm from Columbia, South Carolina, and I've always been jealous of NC, there just seems to be a lot more stuff going on there in terms of game collecting It feels like stores are just closing left and right down here, either cuz of a lack of interest, bad locations, poor management (and possibly pricing?), or something else, I really don't know

That’s really sad to hear. Raleigh itself was in a similar spot before more of the game stores opened and the community came together. Really just the past couple years it’s been where it is now

interesting angle for a video. my area is getting worse and worse for finding retro games in the wild. I miss the days of finding a gamecube game I wanted for $3

With such an active community, thrifting is harder, but you get to make connections with others, find what each other is looking for, and can make deals that way too.
