Start with the basics. Apart from cash, you should be able to accept debit card and credit card payments from MasterCard and Visa, at the least. You might consider adding American Express, after a while.
It's good practice to have separate bank accounts for separate businesses. It makes keeping the books a great deal easier and may be required to maintain limited liability if the businesses are corporations, limited liability companies, or limited liability partnerships.
If you wanted to handle data through NC on a server. Does NC have the ability to stop free commerce when pertaining to the WWW. If so they remove themselves from freedoms and business opportunities that would otherwise be free range.
I have a question here. I just used Northwest to create and get started with an LLC with a Company name that wasn't used or taken. But when I try to file in the Articles of Organization online, it says the Company Name is not available when trying to register my business entity name. I'm guessing by creating the LLC on Northwest, it somehow made it to where I can't register my Company Name I created on Northwest first? Any help on what to do would be appreciated.
Hi! Thanks so much for reaching out. If you started your LLC with Northwest, you don't have to fill out the Articles of Organization online. They did that for you! Please give Northwest a call at 509-768-2249 to verify the status of your application. They can help you sign into your LLC portal and get familiar with the docs and processes that are there for you. Best of luck with your new business!
In North Carolina (and in any other state), it’s possible to organize an LLC that will have assets or operations internationally. A couple of noteworthy points: If the business owner is required to pay taxes in Liberia on the income earned there, they can claim a Foreign Tax Credit (Form 1116) to offset U.S. taxes on that income. This helps avoid double taxation on the same income. Also, If an LLC has foreign bank accounts in Liberia and the aggregate value exceeds $10,000 at any point during the year, the LLC owner must file an FBAR (FinCEN Form 114). Hey, thanks for the comment! A double LLC is used to protect the LLC owner's privacy. Basically, the main LLC holds the assets, and the other LLC is the public face of the business.
Thanks for the question! Yes, North Carolina does legally require that someone be physically available to receive service of process during normal business hours at a specified NC address. We recommend using Northwest to form an LLC for $29. The package includes free registered agent services for a year. --------> Here's the link for that discount: go.truic.com/45hplKy After that, the service is $125 a year (if you don't find another person to fill the role first). The only other registered agent service that is less expensive is IncFile (at $119) but their customer service isn't anywhere near as good as Northwest's. @HowtostartanllcOfficial I could be my LLC's agent, but occasionally I have to go to the grocery store and pharmacy during the day. Will LLC Enforcement Agents be watching me? Do LLC Enforcement Agents exist? I knew a guy who got his house raided by people. They looked at his wife's panties.
When you're forming an LLC, some services include a free year of registered agent services. Northwest Registered Agent will form your LLC for $29 (plus the NC registration cost), and will include one year of registered agent. You can use this link to get that promotion: go.truic.com/45hplKy After the 1 year, the cost is about $11 per month. You can also use their address as your business address, which adds an extra layer of privacy. At TRUiC, our mission is to offer free resources and information. @@HowtostartanllcOfficial Not bad, thank you! Also, I want to make an LLC and have that business own another LLC. What steps do I have to do in order to achieve this? I'm not sure what to do first.
Generally, the first LLC is started just like any other LLC, and then the subsequent LLCs will list the current LLC as a member on the articles of organization and/or in the operating agreement.
I live in North Carolina, but want my rental property in Texas to be under an LLC. Is it okay to file the LLC in North Carolina for the Texas property?
