North-East False Creek Part2: The Entertainment District & Hogan's Alley

This two part series will outline the future of Vancouver's North-East False Creek Area in the absence of the Georgia and Dunsmuir viaducts. From the new park-space that will stretch from Keefer to Science world, to Hogan's Alley which will connect City Gate and Chinatown, to the new entertainment district, which will include developments at BC Place and the Plaza of Nations. Part two outlines the entertainment district, including the Concord Pacific development, the Plaza of Nations, and Parq Vancouver, as well as the Hogan's Alley District.

This video is a 5 years old, and they still haven't moved on the project. The fact that it's taken so long to get these projects off the ground is why we have a housing crisis in town.

I went to Parq for a seismic competition/conference this past week, it's a really nice building. As a civil eng student all of this planning is exciting

Love the videos man. Thanks so much for making them. Your style kind of reminds me of Wendover Productions with a bit of a fun twist. As a resident of Olympic Village, I got to say, I really don't like looking at Parq. I can see it from my deck and It kinda ruins the sky line. Perhaps when the new buildings come in it will look more integrated, but for now it sticks out in a rather ugly way. Again, thanks for the awesome vids. Cheers!

The casino is a good thing. Having things to do before and after events at the stadia and on days without events at the stadia will help make the area a true entertainment district. This will help draw visitors all year every day making the business around it more sustainable. It’s a win win.

One thing I feel the False Creek, a flat area next to the sea, really needs is a canal, possibly with florists selling tulips and a bicycle superhighway. Also, get rid of the casino, that just feels wrong, just put in a shopping center, has just as much employment and tax revenue. Also, it's pronounced "Key" lol

I think this development is really nice but I don't like how they keep building super tall buildings around bc place because the views are disappearing... however I understand land is very limited and height is important

Casinos tend not to occupy 'nice' areas nor promote their growth/development. Nothing's certain though

like I mentioned before interesting video but your narrator sounds like his pants is on fire why is he talking so fast was there a time limit on any of this it's hard to interpret what he's saying especially for immigrants which I am not and plus sometimes we like to absorb our thoughts and what we are being told no time to absorb it sounds like you just rambling on like a computer for god sakes get a new narrator please thank you

“ nice view of BC Place”. Yeah right. No more light show that you can see from Science World. But hey, if you squint you can see the clouds surrounding Mt Seymour and Grouse. Postcard view gone so that Vancouver can get a Macau casino. Oh joy.
