Well, My intention was to go out and catch some Codling and Pollock but the the pollock are just non existent at the moment in my usual spots!
I did manage a small codling which was great.
Then...BANG!!!!! On came the Mackerel, and dear me, what an explosion it was.
In the end I simply couldn't get through them in search of pollock and Cod, the water was just jumping with them and it made fishing for anything else impossible, they were even taking 8" soft plastics in my attempt to get through them!

Looked like you had a few things stacked against you there Steve, but well done for sticking it out and adapting to the venue and conditions. Some of those Mackerel were proper donkeys, well done and thank you for looking out for the bird life and taking the discarded rubbish home, one of my local venues is horrendous soon as the Mackerel show which puts all of us decent fishermen in a bad light unfortunately. Looking forward to the next one, tight lines matey 🎣🎣🎣

Great video as always Steve,I was at same spot at st abbs about a month ago,lost count of the amount of coalies,no Pollock or cod,was rubbish there too,it's every where tramps,look forward to the next one right lines 🎣

Alreet Steve .. that last mackerel was the biggest I’ve seen off a rod n reel like .. that had to be 2 -2.5 lb ! Good decision moving away from the bird sanctuary like 👍🏻

Fresh mackerel fillets are very good for cod bait keep a few next time combo that with crab is deadly for cod fishing

i fish that spot at eyemouth alot, was once a hidden gem since you have to shimmy along a ledge to get to it, the rubbish really is becoming an issue there
