Alternative Tent: ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 4 Person Tent: View it on Amazon: amzn.to/2KZYlWS
After getting the rock 32 tent from north face, i promptly seam sealed the canopy before using it on a hike. I used 1 OZ of Seam Grip to do the external side of the canopy (except for the seams above the vestibules). I used the entire 1 OZ tube. It would have taken another tub to do the complete canopy and the tent seam(s). 1 OZ cost about $8 at a local sporting goods shop.
I've only used the tent for two nights so far (dry weather, less than 40 degrees). Once I was by myself (6'2"), and the next night I was with two of my kids (cramped but manageable). Comment if you have any questions about the tent or the video. - Thanks for watching.

@ejelstad Admittedly I haven't backpacked with it, but I would say it'd be a good backpacker's tent if you can split the polls, canopy & stakes with a hiking partner. I think it's just slightly too big to backpack with solo; but it would do in a pinch. I got MSR Groundhog stakes at a local sporting goods store that I plan on using as well; instead of the cheap ones it comes with.

Definitely not IMO. I'm 6'2" and I can fit in it on a slight angle with my younger son; but I don't see two 6' guys being able to be in the tent comfortably at all. If i lay straight on my back not on an angle, the top of my head and maybe the tippy of my toes barely touch the ends of the tent.

Would you vote against using this tent hiking the Appalachian trail? I plan on hiking for about 2 months. Would it be big enough to 2 guys, one 6' and one 6'3?

like wise there doesent seem to be much info on the rock 32 or 22 dispite it seeming comparable to the drifter half dome and the gunnison

would you recommend this as a backpacking tent? does it pack down small enough so it doesn't take up too much space in a pack?
