WHAT thay do not tell you is 20 miles on the G M R S side that requires tunning the radio to a G M R S tower so the radio will work miliage is 2 miles in town that all the farther mine will go. as I have some my radio's come with a factery tec. store bought do not you need a ham radio guy to program it to work with the tower
I struggled with this knot for a while. I saw one guy on RU-vid tie this knot wrong in the same way, but he didn't admit it and start again, he clipped the video so you barely got a glimpse of the wrongly finished knot!
Tie the first knot what comes most naturally to you. Get used to tying it that way. Then start practicing loops. Tie the first knot, then flip the entire loop over and the opposite knot gets tied exactly the same, which is opposite the first knot. This method only requires becoming proficient at the knot, the the direction is irrelevant.
Thanks for the immediate correction: "After a little practice, per his restarts: Side 1: start loop over the top. side 2: start loop from under, or vice versa. They just need to be opposite." DaveE7171

Laying it out on the table made it clear and easy to see what you were doing. other videos shows them with it with there hands, and you can't really see how it's done.thanks so much, flag is up and flying
Just a thought. Maybe you should consider actually practicing the knot until you can tie it properly the first time, before you make a video demonstration on how to tie it.
lol, im reading the comments. Good on you for "knot" editing your video. and showing your mistakes. my greatest teacher was named mistake. For the genius that said "I wanted to know how to tie 2 knots together". Simply cut the rope in 1/2 and follow this kids procedure. Then again what would I know, considering I hold a career that 99.9% of the Country couldnt make a day through.
The privacy codes just cuts out any interface so your radio will not open squelch and receive anything except another radio that's using the same privacy code.
I have a pair of GXT 1000 Midlands I love them from what I've noticed they provide the best performance for the money overall now with that being said I understand why the GXT 5000 are more money even though essentially they have roughly the same performance because of the frequencies the 5000 are meant for everyday use whether it's in the military used at construction sites security companies you can drop them on the floor all day and not worry about them getting damaged that's what they are I forgot to mention hiking if they fall they'll be fine the very high water resistant helps so again you get what you pay for the gxt1000 will get you about the same range no matter what and even though they're still decently durable obviously they're not the same as the 5000 so it all depends on what the individual needs
laughing. thanks. I was going to post the same thing. idiot. why didn't he do a little prep, maybe a little rehearsal? I don't know... ya think.. lol....
This is a double Fisherman's Knot in a specific application, the Prusik Loop. It's really the same as tying two pieces of rope together, except in this case the pieces are connected at their respective other ends.
I looked at all of them and decided that what I bought comes with a tech to help you I payed 150.00 each for three H T radios and 425.00 for my base which is 45 watts ON G M R S
your amazing video with pristine explanation on where and what with taking your time. taught me the one knot i couldn't get and is my saving grace for my Citca training exam coming up for Wind Towers
