It was great that the northside and the southside eventually came together. You had E.S.G. and Slim Thug collab way back then. And over the decades Northside and Southside Houston rappers have collab - just think if we didn’t have Slim Thug and Z-Ro together. It’s one Houston.
I heard the beef was also from the north side jackin slabs from the south. And if you know Houston then you know the north side is still notorious for car theft.
Ok it's like this. The Northside did have a rap scene way before all of this. It just wasn't a big one. There were battles and songs being made on an underground level. I used to go to Greenspoint to battle rap. And I know for a fact there was the same thing happening on the Southside because I knew all the rappers who really mattered in the game. The heavy hitters. But you had to be on the club scene to know who was who. Then years later all the other shit came about. Man I could write a mean book about how rap music started in H Town.

I was there when all the beef took place. I even remember when northside rappers rapped differently. We didn't say "hold up" and "comin dyne". Really I hate to hear a nawf nigga even say those phrases in their rhymes because it's like copying the souf's brand. I love the souf but I just can't copy their rap style.

Im from greenspoint! We didn't take sides with swisher house. Truth is I love every fukn brother I have from the sunny side and I have been shown nothing but love from all of Houston. This was a simple case of one record label against another. Nobody in greenspoint was throwing out their grey tapes because of watts or anything said on a screw tape I don't know anyone from Southside who wouldn't listen to swisher house.
