Washmi Wijeratne I know right. There are actual real life victims who've managed to escape, who've witnessed & experienced first hand the suffering & struggles of this way of living....then you have idiots like Evilfisher2, sitting behind his computer denying FACTS... as if he would know zzzz
It's the same with the guards. I remember the story of one guard who fled the country. He was traumatized after watching a public execution. If you show sympathy to any of the prisoners, they will say "if you care about them so much, you can join them".
some may be true lots is propaganda (why would they lie about it)? Brainwashing and Control every country does it America is really bad with Brainwashing and propaganda to steer the public to support what the controlling class wants to accomplish. Look into what North Korea teaches its citizens about the USA they think we are horrible. they believe that they have it good compared to what they would have if they came to the USA Look it up it is very interesting but you have to realize that the west does it also Take the red pill if you are strong enough
I KNOW RIGHT! Perfect detail too. But then again she was there for 28 years!!! I'm 17 so basically she's been seeing the same thing over and over again every day for longer than I've been alive!!!
sozuruQ2 I know, it's amazing though, in Atacama there was a concentration camp, one of the inmates knew how to draw not only a map, but actual scenes of how the camp looked like, he drew it in sand everyday using perspective and repeated until he could one day do it from memory when he got out, without ever being caught.
+xInferno_ yup it is as i type this hard to believe too and that little shit who is running the country who thinks he is God will deny everything my parents call him a pipsqueak but i know a few worse names
The kim guy has like 100 women who follow him as sex slaves too, all handpicked the prettiest girls in society, each has to specialize in massaging a specific part of his body too and master it. They truly use people as just slaves. Sickening
Yeah and worse when some of the nk ppl escape to China they r usually sold into sex trafficking .. fuck nk and this is still happening in the 21st century! Fuxkkk .. and fuck China for selling women as much as $200 us
God hasn't seemed to care about it up to this point. Obviously this is what he wants. You think God's waiting for a certain amount of "likes" on the internet before he acts?
@@buttkid3548 anyone who believes in this bullshit called religion when there is absolutely no proof to prove it is a dangerous nutter. The world is full of nutters and full of evil.
Your armchair group of weekend warriors will most likely kill no one, be capture, and you'll all "disappear" in one of these camps. The human rights abuses by the North Koreans are unfathomable. But what is the human cost of invading NK? Every citizen there has been trained to fight. Men are required 100 hours of training per year. A ground war would be especially bloody and costly in NK.
@@marysunshine2027 evil is everywhere including in the Vietnamese war. But the topic of this video is North Korea. Deflection doesn't deny or minimize the evil in North Korea.
it sickens me to see innocent people suffer like this. I give my heart out those poor North Koreans. May god have mercy on your souls and I hope the Kim dynasty goes to the deepest pits in hell.
Yeah atheists seem to have things figured out right. They created beacons of Humanity like Soviet Union and, heh, North Korea... It's North Korean atheists who did all these craziness, if there's anyone going against them and their craziness, it will be God.
just as no single grain of rice ever fed a people, no single person has ever influenced an entire movement. If you would like to see change and are looking for a hero to make it, look no further than yourself. Raise awareness about the issue through social media, school, neighborhood. Raise money to help foundations that assist those in need. Write letters to your politicians. YOU have the power to influence positive change in this world. YOU have the power to help stop these attrocities.
It will never stop until people in the West unanimously realize how horrible it really is. Most people don't understand the depths of the Communist nightmare because they don't want to research such uncomfortable topics. And there are many who are convinced that North Korea is actually a good country-that every single bad thing said about it it is just Western propaganda-nevermind all the photos and defector testimonials that say otherwise. Don't ask me to explain it-Neo-Communists are almost as dumb as flat-earthers.
@@chickenandchips1263 I'm afraid it's not that simple. China supports the North Korean regime in order to use the whole country as a buffer zone against the West, and as long as the CCP remains in power, the atrocities committed in North Korea will never stop. Besides that, reports I have listened to from North Korean defectors have consistently pointed out how Kim sees himself as a god. He doesn't believe that there is anyone he needs to be subservient to and therefore sees no negative consequences for his actions. He benefits himself. No one else matters in his mind. Unfortunately, there is nothing you or anyone else can say whatsoever that will change his mind.
Jamar Rippy If only Americans knew how the war began in the first place... After WWII, Korea was liberated from the north by the Soviets and from the south by the Americans. Both installed their own governments in the sections of Korea they freed. Then shit hit the fan and we had a war. It was a proxy war between the US and the Soviets (it was the cold war era) with the Americans/S.koreans fighting the chinese/N.koreans (armed by the Soviets). There were a few big pushes in which one side almost took over the entire peninsula but were then pushed all the way back. It ended after roughly 3 years. The entire war was started because the north wanted communism (supported by the soviets) and the south wanted democracy (supported by the US). Bam, instant proxy war. If the separate governments weren't installed to begin with, Korea might still be whole.
@@BritaniaANDPrussia Opportunistic Stalin declared war on Japan 2 days after the USA already dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima and Japan would surrender a week later. The USSR then seized part of its territory (including North Korea) because it was at war with Japan. I don’t think this counts as liberating North Korea from the Japanese.
not depressing. this is great news that this information is getting out to the world. we just need enough of the right people to hear about it. you could be one of those people. SPREAD THE WORD!
Strangely South Korea doesn't seem to care, people have more important things to do. Books written by defectors about their lives before the defected tends to not sell well in South Korea but in Japan books written by defectors tend to sell very well. South Koreans don't seem to care much about North Korea. Books tend to be barely sellable in South Korea but once there translated to English and sold in America they get sold a lot. Not enough though... Barely anybody knows what's going on inside of North Korea...
You know, after World War Two, many said: wish we had known the existence of the horrible Nazi-camps - if we only knew, we could have done something! May this never happen again. - Now, in 2014, WE KNOW that this is happening!! So NOW we should do something!!
Just a little correction: 자갈(Ja-gal) that they put in mouth does not mean pebbles but something similar to reins that you put in the mouth of horses to keep their mouths closed. Gwan-ri-so officers were not putting small stones in the prisoners' mouths but a triangular shaped something (he didn't explain exactly what the material was) to keep them quiet. 자갈 or 재갈을 물리다 is how the term is mostly used in Korean. Thanks!
@@Orbsian I agree, I guarantee there were some guards that secretly felt horrible. There are definitely some that enjoy torturing prisoners but I'm sure some truly felt bad, they were obviously doing it out of fear too.
Christ, that guard looks like a haunted man. He's seen shit no one should ever have to see. They don't just abuse the prisoners, the guards get it too.
It would be 5 Grandpparents, parents, you, your children, your grandchildren. I guess what is meant is 3 generations depending on what generation is alive
There exist a cycle of demented evil in North Korea, and I am sad that the people that are victimized are experiencing that traumatic nightmare. I am curious if the survivors in those torture will ever be rescued in time, as each second ends the prisoner's suffering continues. If a miracle will cause Kim Jong-Un to be arrested or eliminated, the soldiers who commit these crimes be arrested.
Because China backs NK. And China doesn't want a flood of war refugees from NK. As it would be a HUGE problem economically. This is why it will always remain, NK is just a proxy of communist china anyways
That was 10 yrs ago and it’s still happening. Why in hell isn’t something being done about it. This should not be allowed to continue for one more day. This is evil, right straight from hell. These people need to be rescued. Surely there are countries that can do something for them, no one has the right to treat people that way. We are just as guilty if we do nothing.
Pray for Nk.. on March 17 the UN investigation was conclused and the finding was that Nk has committed crimes against humanity and was referred to the international criminal court in Hague. We can pray and hope that the Un gets something done to help these people.
what's the point of being so wicked & cruel? does kim get satisfaction knowing that all these pple are suffering bcuz of him? how could you work at a place where pple are starving & being killed in such heinous ways for nothing? WTF is wrong with these pple?? SMH
Human rights? Where? While i typed this down, and you watched the video, and by the time you read this - nothing changed, this situation is still occuring somewhere right now.
Their nukes arent as efficient as the media may suggest.. even if they had a nuclear programme, the bombs wouldnt be powerful beyond that of a 1940s nuke, maybe a 20 mile radius max
They don't operate under Western standards of morality. They don't see this the way we do at all. If you want to understand the Communist nightmare, then you have to learn how to see things from the perspectives of the people who do these things-without actually accepting those perspectives-of course. I have listened to North Korean defectors, and they say that the guards are completely indoctrinated to see the prisoners as sub-human. They don't see any reason to treat them with respect. As for the so-called "Great Leader", he is spoiled and sadistic, and there have been many people like him throughout history, and even in the world today. Unfortunately, it's just the way most of the world is.
Which camp was the drawing at 8:39 a map of? It said earlier that she was at camp 18, but it doesn't look like it. Google Earth actually lets you search for, say, camp 18 North Korea and takes you there. Check it out. They're probably all searchable. Has the map been reproduced? I'd love to have a scrolling pdf, with translated captions.
How can the situation be solved without military intervention and deterioration of the political and economic situation and the life itself in the country? The population will not be happier in the destroyed country. I think it must be the world politicians' effort, but not military in no way.
11:34 Friends and family members have rejoiced over their loved ones’ executions under duress. Forcing someone to rejoice over evil is tantamount to sincerely rejoicing over evil.
North Korea exists because Russians occupied north after Japan surrendered but I didn’t see Russians fighting in the pacific so why did they get a piece?
Christ. Holocaust survivors and humanitarians would be pissed to hear shit like this is going on. My heart goes out to every victim of these political forces labour torture camps. Those assholes that are doing this with glee make me sick...
Shared, although the page has been planned for a while, only just been implamented, I will be sharing other important messages from @HRW too. Together people can make a difference.
It's essential that the people of the world figure out a way to end the brutal North Korean regime. North Koreans must also deeply understand their own potential to live freely without fear. For now, that potential must remain as such. Everyone needs to tell the truth about North Korea, these are brave souls in this video.
The UN won't do anything, it doesn't really have the power or capability to do so even if its members are sympathetic to the issue. Look at what's happening in the Central African Republic right now, or Syria, or in the past with Rwanda, or what continues to occur in the West Bank. Our world has always been falling apart...
*Like, what did they ever do to deserve this some kids, families, men, women, are like dying for nothing, and even Kim Jung Un says it's the happiest place on earth.....death isn't a happy thing to see, hear, nor feel.*
The atrocities that were committed against Koreans during the war can never be excused or justified. But why treat their own citizens this way? What does it solve?
This is what happens when you don't interfere in other countries affairs. Long long time ago, when there was no U.N. or human rights watch or any of these interference. Many countries abused their powers with impunity, millions of people were killed like rats, starved to death and so on.
Mr Mouse Well said. And don’t even get me started on the people who said they wanted to impose martial law (which is often a precursor to these kinds of tyrannies) just to prevent President Trump from taking office in the first place.
I wish North Koreans knew that we do care about them and our hearts hurt because we can't do anything. I find myself wanting to learn more and more about North Koreans because their innocence is just ripped away by their disgusting country so I wonder how these people could of lived their lives if they lived like us and never seen anything like public executions, people dying everyday from malnutrition, etc. humans are so cruel, and the whole world isn't like that, but they've been brainwashed into believing that North Korea is the only great country existing.
As a singaporean, i am extremely disgusted that my fellow countryman cheered for Kim Jong Un when he visited a local tourist attraction when he was in the summit with Trump recently. Singapore is a much milder version of North Korea.
And still, there are people that manage to find enough arguments to decide that they support the North Korean model of government. As for me, I've decided that no matter how many benefits can come from living in a country such as this, the human life cost that these regimes, left-wing or right-wing dictatorships, imply are enough to prove that the authoritarian way is not the best way, ever. For political and moral reasons, I can't support the existence of a regime that controls its citizens' lives by way of fear and subordination. I do my best not to deny the potential benefits in economic and social sectors, one way or the other. But if there's any chance of dialogue between the two wings left, we should worry about the sacrifice to our humanity that defending regimes such as this suggests. Guatemalans went through hell for 32 years straight and counting. People in Myanmar still do, and have known no other world other than that of total warfare and inhumanity. Many dictatorships (disguised as democratic or otherwise) have had the same result: people missing loved ones and innocents murdered in defense of an ideology that justifies government abuse. Peace is all but far away, but it will never be conquered if people continue to use the abuses of one regime to excuse the other's. It's just cruel and unfair to everyone of those who still suffer from the terrible consequences that ALL dictatorships leave behind: a legacy of psychological damage and even economic ruin. If anyone tries to give you the whole "North Korea isn't as bad as everyone says" shenanigans, you have the moral obligation to call "bullshit", because as long as people have to suffer in order to fulfill someone's egotistical desires (political, ideological or whatever), the PEOPLE they so claim to stand up for will never get what they deserve. Right-wing and left-wing dictatorships are all the same. The extremes are way more similar than they make out to be, and should not be forgiven for their brutality. Pinochet, Rios Montt, Medici, Franco, Kim Jong-Un, Stalin, and whoever else, are nothing more than murderers, and they should be, if not punished, treated as such. They are not worthy of our respect and should not be regarded for their pros, since the cons are what marked their places in History.
I would like North Korea and South Korea to unite & become one- Korea. At the same time, it will take several years for North Koreans and their land to catch up all the technology, roads & etc. But most likely that will not happen. North Korea is not the only country that has this. Some parts of Russia are doing this too. They're just quite about it. This is just sad & depressing. Nobody should be treated like this. Someday, a bomb will explode. Either a war or a rebellion; but when that happens, I hope at the end, no country will treat their people this way.
