They spend many days and hours to make it look good. NC is a place of no freedom and extremely cruelty of it's citizens. It's all a big show, nothing more.
They only started using the Juche calendar in 1997, after Kim Il Sung's death. So many people have grown up without it. Also, this parade is a show for the outside world. That's why the Georgian calendar is used to make things understandable for foreigners.

imma be honest i don't care of how well they can actually fight nor do i care about their government but the soldiers do look sick as hell to me and that is why i love watching these parades lol

South Korea would get stomped if or when North Korea decided to restart the war. The South would have no choice but to rely on the US and the collective West to step in and help push them back. With the war in Ukraine turning in Russias favor and China licking their chops for Taiwan, don't be surprised if or when Kim Jong decide its his turn as well.
