My mom grew up in North Newark back in the late 50’s into the 70’s. Italians used to chase my mom’s sisters home from school. There weren’t too many blacks in Barringer High back in the 60’s. North Newark now is mostly Hispanic and been like that since the late 70’s.

I have a very good idea where this is. Was this near the cathedral too? I used to live in the Colonnades down Clifton ave. But not in the 60s though 😀 much later.
Was stationed at the Rescue Squad near the County Police. And some of the homes pictured do look like they were in the area. Webster st, Park ave., High st., Mt Prospect, Summer ave. All near Barringer High school and the Cathedral. Remember Thoms Restaurant? I was one of those that fought the fire that burned it down. The area is a shell of what is shown in the video.
